Hi Jacks....it's 12:31 and I'm done. I only hit one snag. I tried booking John's massage at 12:20 and it kicked me out.....told me it couldn't process at the moment.....try again. So I tried it again and it went right through. I got everything I needed.

It wouldn't let me pick how many I wanted to book for high tea. Last year I remember we could book up to 4 per table. So I have it booked but I'll call DCL tomorrow and request 4 at my table.

Other than that, we're good. I think everyone is going to have some glitches when they go to book. Not as bad as the night with the fishies, but some delays.

Kathe, Stacy and Vicki.....I booked Palo high tea for Mon 9/14 a day at sea at 3pm. I called DCL today and asked to get a table for four on that ressie. They told me that since I'm not linked yet with anyone and only travelling with a party of two....my ressie is for 2 people. So after we link our dinners.....she said I can go back online, keeping the same ressie but just change it to four instead of two. So that's what I'm going to do. You all don't have to do anything. Just show up for tea at Palos. I'll edit my ressie after we're linked. It's all good.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 party:party:party: :jumping1::jumping1
Thank you sooooo much Deb!!!!!
I have never gotten to do the tea before on the ship, and am so looking forward to "having tea" with you, Kathe, and Stacy!!!

We are not linked with anyone, and early dining, but don't think that shuld affect this.

Again.....THANK YOU!!!!!

I can't believe some of you had trouble last night. I had all four of our ressies done in maybe 10, 15 minutes at the most. I think it's the smoothest it's ever gone. I hope it's that smooth when I book for the Baltic next year because I'll have a lot more stuff to book.

It was the 75 day mark for another cruise... :headache:

Ian, the DCL web site says the St Thomas Hysterical Walking Tour will not be available after June 5th of this year. (thru DCL) That's several St Thomas excursions they will no longer be offering. WHAT'S GOING ON?

Coral World Ocean and Island Drive...zip
Atlantis Submarine Adventure...zip (6/1)

It's looking more and more like doing butterflies, Coral World, skyride or a private tour is the way to go. I think with at least 10 people it's around $40-45 per person to have a 'bus' and driver. Somewhere I have written down the names of some guides from cruise critic. Yep, if you aren't doing one of the more active or water excursions, on your own seems to be the way to go.

Ohhh Nan can keep her tile lounger... I want the second one in from the right... :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Ummmm Drink Please!!!!

Does Kellie like water? A nice beach day would be good.:cloud9:

Thanks for the suggestion. Kellie hasn't been to the ocean for awhile and maybe she will enjoy it more than she used to. I sure hope so since we are going on a Caribbean Cruise. She likes being in a pool even though she doesn't know how to swim so maybe she'll enjoy the ocean if there isn't too much wave action. Getting her to walk in sand will be the hard part. I'm also thinking about some kind of sigthseeing tour, we'll have to see.

In St. Thomas there is a butterfly farm and the skyway right across from where the ship docks... maybe she would like something like that.

Also... at Castaway Cay - Disney does use golf carts to get things around the Island... I did see when we were there that they were shuttling people to the trams from the ship if you needed assistance. So stop at Guest Services on board and see what you can arrange.

Thanks Michelle for the ideas on St. Thomas and Castaway Cay. I'm pretty sure she would enjoy the Skyway and maybe the Butterfly Farm. I'll have to check into the golf carts shuttling people to the trams. That sounds like something we could use if possible. I'll stop at Guest Services.

Was this an early morning shot? It must have been. How nice of you to post a photo of one of my favorite places at my favorite time of day.

A few more thoughts before I trot off to work this Sunday morning.

I'm sitting here looking at the description of the hysterical walking tour on the DCL site and the one one the tour guide link I posted and quelle surprise, they are very, very similar.

The key difference that I see is:

DCL price = $35 per person
Price on site I posted = $25 per person

Same thing with the Island Tour.

DCL price = $39 per person (2.5 hours)
Price on the site I posted = $35 per person (3 hours)

I also see that they do custom/specialty tours.

Jackie (et al) - I think you might be right about arranging our own tour. If there are others interested, I'll be happy to inquire.

Regarding the hysterical (OK, historical) walking tour. My research has shown that it is possible to just get a guide map and do this on one's own. Many people have have and do recommend this.

My thoughts are that it is only 1 day in port and I'd rather not walk around with my nose in a book. I have also read that that there are some parts of Charlotte Amaile to be weary of.

If anyone was interested in forming a group to do a self-guided hysterical walking tour, I'd be up for organizing this as well. I realize that it's not everyone's cup of tea, but, we could put together our own rather nice self constructed package with say, the butterfly farm, a walking tour and a planned stop for lunch.

I have to be honest and say that I like butterflies, history, shopping and eating (though not necessarily in that order).

Here are a couple of links regarding self-guided tours:

(PS - I don't like sand. Not since I was 3 years old and at Coney Island I got sand in my bathing suit and my sister [12 years older than me] refused to carry me the 5 blocks home and I was rubbed raw. I have avoided sand since then. I remind my sister of this trauma whenever the opportunity arises.)

(PPS- I turn 54 in August and my sister turns 66. I particularly like to remind my sister of the beach trauma she inflicted on me on my and her birthdays.)

I wrote down some restaurant names, but when I found the note....it was for Tortola.

Have you posted a thread with that question here on the main DIS DCL forum? You'd have more people who have already been to St Thomas see your question. Have you been to the cruisecritic website? They have whole forums for each port of call, that's where I've been finding additional information.

Ian, I'll be able to better address the St Thomas situation, after the family coference call tonight. :thumbsup2

Since I haven't seen a post from her lately, here's a picture of NAN, in case we've all forgotten what she looks like.
