Since I haven't seen a post from her lately, here's a picture of NAN, in case we've all forgotten what she looks like.

I see you found a photo of Nan on one of her good days.

Just got back from the May 23rd cruise I will be happy to give honest answers to all questions.

The Man

Thanks fellow "Zonie".

I've perused the Navigators from your trip and looked in on a trip report, but I'm sure we'll come up with some questions.

Oh, oh....I have one. :yay: Tell us about the live music on your cruise. Don't know if we'll have the same performers, but none of the names looked familiar to me.

.

kathe, stacy and vicki.....i booked palo high tea for mon 9/14 a day at sea at 3pm. I called dcl today and asked to get a table for four on that ressie. They told me that since i'm not linked yet with anyone and only travelling with a party of two....my ressie is for 2 people. So after we link our dinners.....she said i can go back online, keeping the same ressie but just change it to four instead of two. So that's what i'm going to do. You all don't have to do anything. Just show up for tea at palos. I'll edit my ressie after we're linked. It's all good.

THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We spent all of our time at Rock'n - D, the group there was an typical cover band you will find on any cruise, the main adult acts all were out of the world, and the saying "What goes on in Rock'n-D stays at Rock'n-D" was very true not for the faint hearted! Be there at least 1/2 hour before shows to get an decent seat.

Maybe I'm missing something? Don't you mean double-digit? Or have you added both together? No, 14 would still be double-digit.

Just checking in and reading what you guys are up to. I've been busy this weekend changing my mind one LAST time about what we're doing before the cruise. We get into Orlando on Wednesday Sept. 9th in the morning. Thought we had settled on going to Universal for a few days. Then my Disney itch started to really act up. :scared: We booked three nights at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge instead. :cool1:

I promised my DH that we wouldn't do parks. He doesn't want to spring for tickets because we plan to get annual passes next year and have three trips planned.

I've been researching non-park activities and resort restaurants that we want to dine at. It will be fun to do stuff that we usually don't have time to do. So far we have planned Mickey's Backyard BBQ, campfire sing-along and movie at Fort Wilderness, breakfast at Kona Cafe where I'll finally get to try the famous Tonga Toast, and dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe. (Not all in the same day. ;)) We're DVC members and are looking forward to doing some pool hopping too. Definately will use he pool at the Polynesian Resort in addition to the one at the Wilderness Lodge. We plan to watch the MK fireworks from the Poly too. And we'll finally see the Electric water parade fron the Wilderness Lodge. Lots of fun stuff to do!

I can't believe I'll start working on my tan and indulging in decadent food 3 days before the cruise!

:lmao::lmao: I edited it....maybe I meant we got rid of a single digit, with double digits remaining....,:confused3

(PS - I don't like sand. Not since I was 3 years old and at Coney Island I got sand in my bathing suit and my sister [12 years older than me] refused to carry me the 5 blocks home and I was rubbed raw. I have avoided sand since then. I remind my sister of this trauma whenever the opportunity arises.)

(PPS- I turn 54 in August and my sister turns 66. I particularly like to remind my sister of the beach trauma she inflicted on me on my and her birthdays.)

.

My brother reminds me every chance he gets that I scratched all his good albums in the 70's... :rotfl:

That one was taken on a Monday... she's not allowed out on Mondays... :rotfl2:

Wouldn't you know it....I said to myself....just one last look at the Tortola excursions to be sure that we picked the right one. Now I changed my mind. Insead of land and sea.....I want to do Island tour, beach and lunch. I have to wait for John to get home and check with him. Then I'll probably go for the tour I just found.

Deb - did you book this excursion? We were able to book this one, a couple of Palo ressies and most importantly our allotment of hours at Flounder's Reef:woohoo:

Morning Tortolians!

Has anyone researched places for lunch in St Thomas? (I know, I know....free lunch on the ship.....)

Family has requested somewhere with a lovely beach view. I've posted this question on the main DCL forum and will share any responses I get there.

A friend of mine who has travelled extensively to St. Thomas told me that the must go to restaurant is Gladys Cafe in Charlotte Amalie. I don't think that it has a great view, but not to be missed. Not expensive either from what she said. We are going to go there and do a little shopping.

Thanks Kristen! I want to present a few options/price ranges to the gang. This location would fit in as the plan is to see some of the sites in Charlotte Amalie. I'm the one longing for a patio lunch overlooking the ocean! :beach:

Here's a review of Gladys Cafe (sounds like a great spot for Caribbean food).

Frommer's Review

Antigua-born Gladys Isles is a warm, gracious woman who makes a visit here all the more special. Gladys's Café is housed in a 1700 pump house with a stonework courtyard that has a well (one of only three on the island) in the middle. The good, standard breakfast here is the best value in town. Lunch offerings feature various sandwiches, salads, and fresh seafood, including an excellent swordfish and dumplings. Along with local lobster, shrimp, and fish dishes, the house specialty is the hot chicken salad, made with pieces of sautéed breast with red-wine vinegar, pine nuts, and dill, all nestled on a bed of lettuce.

I think I posted about this a while ago too....I've heard really good things about Gladys' place (and Gladys herself).

It may be too spicy for our gang and I just read they don't have their own restroom...have to use the public one down the street. Won't work for me. :lmao:(finding every excuse to 'encourage' a resort type beach view restaurant).

An even BETTER shot of the Cove Cafe Comfy Chairs!

This picture sure got me excited! What a great picture! My favorite spot on the ship. I cannot wait!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Welcome newbies!
