Karen, just noticed your avatar. I presume that is your dog. What kind is it? Such a furry bundle I can't actually decide. Absolutely gorgeous.

Do any of you guys that just done the WBTA have any hotel recommendations for Barcelona please.

We staec at the Novotel Barcelona City, it's a new hotel, less than a year old. it was directly accross the road from a little shopping centre with a Disney store, Starbucks, etc.....It was about 5 mins in a taxi to Las Ramblas. We liked it there and have recommended it to family going in June.

We are just staying Friday night so we are going to stay at the Barcelona Marriott Renassance Airport Hotel. They have free transportation to the airport and the city center. Also, for 10 Euros for adults and 5 Euros for children they have a shuttle that goes to the pier. Last year it left at 11AM, 12PM and 1PM.

Good thinking 99! ;)

Hello everyone:wave:

We've actually been booked on this cruise for awhile, but didn't know for sure if we would be sailing as we needed to find decent flights first.
We've just booked our flights so it looks as though we'll be sailing along with you.

Looking forward to getting to know you, if you'll let me:)
Some of you I recognize from the UK forums and other boards.

I understand the headache problem. It is funny how excitement can do that. There are a few trip reports of this last TA on the go at the moment so you can get a feel of the trip.

It was the flights first now the excitement..

I have read a couple of reports and that's what made us book this cruise. We were supposed to be waiting till 2012 for our 25th wedding anniversary and not go away at all next year:lmao:
We get to celebrate our anniversary onboard next year too.

Welcome aboard Michelle!!

Thank you :)

And a great place it is to celebrate any anniversary!! Are you travelling with any other members of your family?

There will be just me, and my husband John. We are geezers, wrinklies, what ever one likes to call us.:rotfl2:

DH John and I celebrated our 25th anniversary this year aboard the WBTA, My kids and GK's purchased for us the Romantic Encounter package, the Fruit and Cheese medley, the Bon Voyage package, the Imported Beer package, a Premium Wine package, the Beer Mug and two Rainforest 1 day passes.

Our room was full of surprises when we boarded.

Wow, belated congratulations on your Anniversary and also what lovely kids and Gk's you have for doing that for you both.
I will show your photo's to my DD's and tell them to start saving ;) I won't expect it next year but for 2012 so plenty of warning.

Thank you. We asked the kids to send something to the cruise as we didn't need any more things to collect.

I know exactly what you mean. I would be more than happy with something like that.

Hi guys :wave2:

just booked myself on this cruise! Not sure yet if it'll indeed happen or not, but at least it's booked. Was kinda surprised -happily- there was an accessible stateroom left. They tend to be hard to come by, esp. if you're very specific in which ones of those you'ld want and which not like me. So a big :woohoo: when one did still turned out available.

Lots of things still need to fall into place for this one to have a final "go", but oh boy do I hope it does all fall into place! Oh right, you guys probably want to know more than "she booked". As my nick says; I'm Goofies one and only real long lost sis. Don't have his ears or face, but sure do have his clumsiness and good intentions! Am 31, have a love for Disney that is becoming a nasty spreading infection and will also earn me the title Best Auntie when my first niece or nephew is born next year, and always start out Disneytrips planning and booking solo. Last 3 trips didn't end up with me going solo, each time somebody decided to tag along. This cruise is booked as a solo but I've learned not to say that out loud as a fact anymore. :rolleyes1

Michelle, keep it our little secret for now (do not need folks booking it all up and prices going up before I can book ;) ) , but keep an eye out on Aer Lingus. Not too sure about their eco prices as I can only fly business class, but they're offering AMAZING bc prices for both roundtrip US as a one way from the US. Only checked the prices from Amsterdam, but wouldn't be surprised if they've got some good prices for the UK also. Especially when wanting to book a one way I've found they way outshine any other airline I've looked at (again bc). For most airlines it would be cheaper to book a roundtrip ticket US-UK-US and only fly the first part than booking a oneway, but not with Aer Lingus as far as I've been quoted by them. If you do end up wanting to book a roundtrip and only use it one way; remember to book US-UK-US and not UK-US-UK!! If you don't show up for a leg, an airline is entitled to cancel the whole ticket and they will do just that so that would leave you with a void ticket stranded in the US. With US-UK-US ticket it wouldn't be a problem if you don't fly UK-US as a second leg. They don't fly in and out of MCO daily, but they do fly on saterday which is all you'ld need. :thumbsup2

And to Barca? Shouldn't you be able to find affordable Easy Jet and Ryan Air prices? Or don't they fly from the airport within your traveldistance? I've found EJ not to have the best flight times but even with a night in a cheap Barca hotel it could perhaps pay off.

And what about BA? Haven't checked them myself, but have been hearing quite a few Dutch rave about a sale that's going on at the moment. Maybe they've got some nice prices for you guys also?

Hello...your secret is safe with me;)
That is the flights we booked this morning, Aer Lingus from MCO - DUB - MAN. Easy Jet are booked for our trip over to Barcelona. We were going to hold out for Virgin Atlantic's reward seats, but couldn't wait any longer.
Welcome aboard Michelle and Goofieslonglostsis! :welcome:
Thank you.:wave2:
