This is the first time I have seen this thread go a whole day without any posts on it. What happened? Everyone finally back to realizity and not trying to relive their vacation? I suppose that is bound to happen but what am I going to have to read when I go online if everyone disappears?

I've been meaning to ask this since we got back - what did everybody do in Grand Cayman? Did anybody not go to Stingray City? I ask this because we just caught a little city tour on the pier and you know - no matter how many pictures you see online, it's never what you expected once you see it for yourself. (did that make sense ) So we saw the governor's house and the oldest house, blah, blah, blah. And Hell? Give me a break! I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't that. I really hope Disney's city tour excursion is a lot better than what we got because if not that is a BIG waste of money.

We did Stingray City with Capt Marvins. Didn't really see any of Grand Cayman other than what we drove by in the shuttle van on the way to and from the tour boat.

Didn't walk around or hit any souvie shops. Saw a lot of damage from Hurricane Ivan though. I really wish we could've explored the island more. Oh well, maybe next time.

We did the Disney excursion City tour and it was basicly the same as Kelley described except the last stop was the turtle farm and you could hold a sea turtle in your hands (Small ones). The turtle farm had just reopened the week we were there and construction was on going. Had a very nice gift shop though. I thought the excursion was worth the money although I must say I don't ever need to do Hell again.

Hell is quite possibly the lamest place I've ever been. Hey! That'd be a funny tee-shirt. "I've been to Hell...... and it's lame!"

My hubby and sister in-law did Disney's sting ray city excursion and loved it. (This is their second time doing it. I did it once) We also got a cab driver to take us to the Turtle Farm. Since we had apparently missed a tour, we walked around alone and spent a lot of time holding the turles, which was nice. However, our taxi driver tried to stiff us, which put a bitter taste in our mouths. They had told us $10 per person INCLUDING addmisson to the farm. Then at the end he tried to say that he took us on a longer "tour" (backroads and destroyed houses) and wanted us to pay $18 a piece. We said no way. I hate that!

Hey everybody,
I went on the Island Tour, WOW, wasted money!!!!, I did enjoy the Turtle farm, but our tour guide was well lets seeeeeeeeee, BORING, this is how it went, that is the blah blah blah hotel, those are condos Bill Gates owns 3 floors, thats the ginger bread house at this point Sylvia was sound asleep and snoring, okay we are in Hell and we will be here for 15 min, Sylvia bought a shirt that says I've been to Hell and back and she loves it because she can wear it to school because it has something to do with geography, then on to the turtle farm I got to hold one and man can they flap those legs or wings or whatever they are, then somone bought recorders for their children at the turtle farm gift shop and let them play them in the van on the way back , play them no, it was more like blew them, no playing of any kinda song here, thank goodness they got out at 7 mile beach, because I just don't know if I could have lasted another 7 miles with out tossing them and the recorders out the window . Sorry if that was any of you all.
How was your alls trip to Grand Cayman?

We went scuba diving in Grand Cayman. Took the tender in and took a taxi to Sea Grape beach where our dive boat picked us up. After our dives we took a taxi back to downtown and took a tender back to the boat. We had a great time. The diving in Cayman is fantastic.

I forgot to mention that we did see the turtle farm, too. Maybe I would have been more impressed if it hadn't of been so freaking hot and no place to get something to drink! What was the gingerbread house? Is that the oldest house? At least my tour was $9 cheaper than Disney's and my child didn't cost anything (Mine wouldn't have anyway but my sister's daughter would have been $24) The one thing I did think was kind of neat/funny about Hell is how the little women that worked in there made sure to say "God bless"

I'm still a little ashamed that I put my child up for this picture, but if this doesn't scream LAME - I don't know what would.

I don't really know what the gingerbread house was, didn't look any different than the other houses I saw, it was older, but by the time we made it to the house we were glary eyed, like I said our tour guide was so boring, he might have said something about it but I can't remember.
As far as getting something to drink, we picked up something in Hell, but we couldn't find a bathroom anywhere until we got back to downtown, and I was about to burst.
I ask our tour guide if is was always that hot and humid, and he looked at me like I was as dumb as a box of rocks and said yes.
That is so funny about the ladies saying God bless, I remember that now, and when I heard it I thought how odd.

I just followed the line, how in the world did I miss getting on the same bus with you, we were in Rockin Ds together before we started, cause I saw you and your wife.
the tour guide was so monotone, it was exciting with the recorder blowers , that kept us wake on the trip back to the place where we dropped them off.

I had read in the Passporter guide to DCL ahead of time that the Island tour was not all it was cracked up to be so we steered clear. We decided to only to the Stingray City Snorkel. We went with the DCL group, it was wonderful and our tour guides were fantastic. Worth every penny. As for the rest of Grand Cayman, unless you wanna buy makeup or perfume or something (savings was only about $10 off of regular US prices) it was pretty boring. We made the mistake of eating on the island, now granted the food (fried plantains, local specialities) and tropical drinks were really good - our bill came to $80 USD for lunch!!! Won't make that mistake again. Next time I do Western Caribbean I'd do Stingray City again and spend the rest of the day on the ship.

it's true, the self proclaimed "self-party posse" was seen and heard everywhere on the Magic. we made a splash, mostly because we were loud, noisy and uh...toasted.

and of course we're alot of fun! one of the funniest moments where i realized people were actually paying attention to us was on 80s night when we kind of took over the dance floor after the regular party dispersed. we had a major dance off. we realized while we were just goofing around that there were several people who had stuck around in rockin' bar D, not to dance but to watch us. it was a bit odd, but funny, and obviously we didn't care that we were making complete fools of ourselves!

so if one of our voyeurs is reading this...hello!


yes, i do recall seeing the same people all around the ship. i think alot of that has to do with dining schedules too. you see the same people heading to the shows the same time you are. i do remember seeing one lady all the time, she was older and had large whitish blond hair in a buffont kind of style. and i always loved walking by the teens, they'd always give you this look like "who the hell are you?" one time we got lost on our deck (yes, this was like on day 5 of the cruise, you connect the dots) and we wandered upon a teen gathering in one of the end hallway stairwells. they were shocked to say the least to see us. we busted in on their club. ha ha!

My day in Grand Cayman consisted of me and the ORIGINAL self party posse member David... drinking hurricane catagory 5's all day! Oh yeah we had fun! Hats off to our bartenders there!! I had been to GC a number of times so I knew to head straight up to Breezes-by-the-Bay for hurricanes. So again, did I have 4 hurricane catagory 5's or 5 catagory 4's? I would imagine either way the outcome would be the same

Ohhhhhhhhh hurricanes for the Self Party Posse reunion? hmmm
