September 10, 2005 - Western Cruise!

I definitely plan on taking advantage of any class offerings, like the Art of Entertaining and the wine tasting. Call me a nerd, but I love learning new things. When I stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge last year I adored the Cultural Safaris they had there and learning all about different countries, it was like a mini-seminar, I was actually surprised more folks didn't show up.

I've already budgeted my bingo expenses as well. I'm not much of a casino person but bingo is just too fun. I too have heard the prizes can be fantastic. I'm sure I'll find plenty to do onboard!

32 days to go! Can you believe it? It's creeping up on us and I for one can't wait!!!! I'm so excited that I want to pack today and just sit there with my bags until it's time! :o)

Bingo does have some great prizes. Not only do the money pots get very big (usually into the high thousands or tens of thousands by the final game) but they do special games where you can win additional prizes like a voucher for a loose diamond from one of the islands and even cruises! I'm in!

31 More days!!!!!!!
My DD17, decided last night that she needed to find teen navigators, and start her planning, she got a note book and took pages of notes, and then off she went to her bedroom, she said I've got to start my packing. I told her to make sure she keeps it to 2 suitcases. I then got the eyeroll and MOM.
Anyone else started packing yet?

Nope. The way I see it, I still have 31 more days to lose some more weight and figure out what I am bringing. I tend to be a last minute packer anyway. We head to Orlando on the Thursday night before the cruise. I'll pack on Wednesday. Maybe Tuesday.

Only 31 more!!!!!! Woo-hoo!!!!!!!

I haven't started packing yet just the organized one of the family has, I'll be packing Thursday night Sept 8 before we leave Friday at 5 am. I pretty much know what I will be taking, so no need to stress over it, and besides I don't own enough cloths to have them just sit in a suit case for 30 days, oh what does that say about my teenager.

Wow, its coming up fast now! Still haven't settled on a shore excusion for Grand Cayman. Guess I'd better do that pretty soon! :)

Have you looked at Capt. Marvins? I hate to knock the Disney excursions, but my brother's family is saving a Lot of money and doing the exact same sting ray city excursion as Disney's. I can't remember the exact dollar amount they are saving but I want to say it's around $100 for a family of 5. And they have been mentioned on the DIS numerous times as a reputable company.

we have now reached the magic number 30,
30 more days until we cruise, 29 days until I depart Roanoke Va, to head to the FL. :cool1:

Wow.. small world. I'm from Salem! Our last cruise, we flew out of Roanoke too :D

We moved to the west coast last year though... but I was back home in June to visit family.

And we're on the same cruise now. What a small, small world. Especially considering Roanoke's small, small place in it! :)

Oh My Gosh!!!!
Bet you know some of my friends, or I know some of yours, or goodness we might know each other.
I use to work at the Disney Store at Valley View, so if you have been in there chances are you have probably seen me. I worked there for 6 years.
I love to go to old Salem days, but I think I am going to miss it this year. Not sure but I think it is on either the week we set sail or the day we come back.
Roanoke is a small place, my ex says he can't date anyone that doesn't know me or someone they know knows me. Makes me think of that Disney song It's A Small World.
I am looking forward to meeting you on the cruise.

I think 30 is a great number!!!! Still no cabin number for us. I'm guessing it could be any day now.

Thirty day dance!
No cabin yet for me either. I'm a Cat. 12 as well. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed. But whatever happens I'll be thrilled. I'm so excited about experiencing something new this year, my first Disney cruise. It's exciting to go to WDW but I've done it so many times, this will be all new.

Fltink - have a ship questions. I saw online that there's a bar called Outlook that has chicken wings and sandwiches and it's near the Quiet Cove pool. I think the quiet cove bar was Signals and they only had drinks. Do you know what I'm talking about? Where's the Outlook bar? I'm wondering if it's got some good views for pics.

Signals is the bar right at the pool on deck 9. Outlook is up on Deck 10, which is basically an observation deck. To tell you the truth, on all the cruises that I have done, Outlook has been closed most of the time. I think it's a bar that they only open when the ships is really busy. (And from the looks of it, on our cruise it will be!)

Ok....we've been assigned. I have to admit, I am a little disappointed. We booked a Cat 12- GRNTD, as did one of the parties sailing with us. Well, we were told by our TA that there was a good chance that we would be upgraded because of it being our wedding and all AND because the Cat. 12s with assigned rom numbers were sold out already. Well, we both got Cat 12s and not only did we get 12s, we are side by side! (NOT what you want on your wedding/honeymoon!) I'm not so upset by the Cat 12. That's fine. It's just the whole being right next door thing. Anyone else get assigned????

AND....does anyone think I should call DCL and try to get moved so that I am not NEXT DOOR to my best friend on my honeymoon cruise?

We booked a category 9 - tried for gntd, but they gave us a room number immediately. Think an upgrade is unlikely. Oh well, we had one last time - from a Category 7 to a Category 4. That was fun!

Need to put in a call/email to Capt. Marvin's. Starting to panic a little about how much I have to DO between now and then.

:)

We got a room number when we booked so I don't see an upgrade coming our way.

It's getting so close to the cruise that I can't believe it!

I really need to start sorting out the stuff that I need to pack. We are taking our SCUBA gear for diving in Cozumel and Grand Cayman so we are going to have a lot of stuff to pack!

I can't believe it's almost here! :Pinkbounc

we booked cat 9 guar and got deck 5 cat 8. VERY happy to be on higher deck. This is our 6th cruise in less than 2 years not sure if that made a difference. We booked through Costco.
