September '09 PTR ~ A trip full of WONDERful firsts! UPDATED 10/12 TR STARTED!

but werént you reallly looking forward to the WL? i know you were originally lookinat at WL after the cruise, then went for the AKL, then were over the moon when you got WL. i´d say stick to what your heart says, go for WL!
last year i started with a poly reservation, changed to the CR for the view, then changed to the AKL and dont regret it at all, i love the AKL. if you really love the WL, i´d say go for the WL. then again, could you do a split stay?

Thanks Karen. I do love the way WL looks but when I was talking to Joe (we were discussing what his top 3 resort wishes were) WL wasn't in it! :scared1: AKV is. I'm thinking of keeping the reservation the way it is because he has one that he really wants and one that I really want.

As for BC, the pool and the location were the big selling points on that.

I just looked up that TA deal again because I was thinking of Stormalong Bay. I hear it's awesome. Beach and Yacht Club, I can get either for about $100 less than I'm paying at WL, waterview room. I'm leaning more toward the Beach Club. I haven't changed anything yet though.

Feedback?

You guys are probably really sick of me changing resorts. :rotfl2: I know I should just pick a resort and stick to it already! :rotfl:

I vote Beach Club! That is where we are staying too! Stormalong Bay was one of our main reasons for choosing that resort to being with and the location to Epcot

Oh I love Universal!! You know my butt's going when HP land opens lol!!!! Want to join me???

WL is gorgeous!! You will have a great stay.

Oh I would def go with Beach Club... just saw that you posted that. Just go with where you guys really really want to stay. What theming do you think you will be feeling the most when you go??

I really like the theming at WL. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw the pictures. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the room decor.

Having said that, Beach Club is a great location, I love the theming and decor, and the pool is supposed to be amazing. Plus, my DBf has never stayed there and told me Wed that BC or YC is one of his top 3 places he would like to stay.

Hmmmm....

YES! Is it considered a DIS meet if it's in Universal? :rotfl: I can't wait to see the new HP land. I'm going to be BUGGING them constantly about it when we go on the VIP tour.

That's right! I forgot you guys were staying there. I'm thinking about it. I've switched so many times already lol.

Jen, I just responded over on the Cruise thread. I would def. do Beach Club. All of the things you wrote are true, and the rooms are a little bigger at BC as well. The pools are awesome! You can always go have a meal at WL and spend a while walking around there. BC is more convenient because of the walking to DHS & Epcot...I really just love the BC!! LOL, one of my faves!! :goodvibes

Lol, I just responded to your response on the cruise thread. I'm really thinking about switching (AGAIN) because I can get a villa there for less money than WL. I like the idea of having a kitchen because we were planning on brining breakfast food and a washer/dryer comes in handy. I can always throw a load in while I'm at the parks. And you really can NOT beat the location. Everytime I've walked around the Boardwalk area I've started longingly over in the BC and YC direction. :rotfl:

FALSE ALARM GUYS! Lol. I wasn't factoring dining into the price. It would cost more. Way more. I knew something seemed too good to be true!

I know the decision has already been made but.. I just wanted to add my two cents..

You would LOVE WL!! Plus, you'll have just spent time on the cruise (beachy) and the BC is beachy.. honestly, that's just a lot of beach, IMO (but hey, I'm from FL :rotfl2:). I think a change of scenery and pace would be more fun. Get more Disney bang for your buck by soaking up two different vibes- Beach (thanks Cruise!) and WL.

Glad you're sticking with WL!! :thumbsup2

Good point, Rora. LOL. I will have PLENTY of the beach on my cruise! There are just so many great resorts to choose from, I can't make up my mind. No more, I'm sticking with WL. It's where I really wanted to stay in the first place.

Hi everybody!

If it's possible, I am now even more excited about this trip! Part of my job is to go on fams (familiarization trips) to certain locations: Disney, Grand Canyon, Universal... I applied to go on a Universal fam for 9/13-9/16. Well...

I got approved! Awesome! I was looking over the itinerary and we get to stay at the Hard Rock Hotel. I'm super excited about that because it looks amazing and I've never stayed there, only Royal Pacific. We get tours of each resort and a VIP tour of the parks. And we get to see the Blue Man Group! I've always wanted to see them!!

So I get to go to Universal from 9/13-9/16, work the 17th and 18th, and then leave to make the trip down to Disney on the 19th! I basically have half the month off! :rotfl:

HARRY POTTER AT MIDNIGHT!!!!! :yay:

That's AWESOME!!! :thumbsup2 I have a non-Disney question for you. How long did it take you to get your "travel degree"? I LOVE to travel and would like to get this on top of my Master's in Education -- where do you get it from? Is it hard to get? TIA!!! :goodvibes
PS - You're vacation is turing out to be amazing, have lots of fun. We'll be at Disney just after you (9/25-10/2) to celebrate our DD's 1st Birthday!!!

Hi! I actually didn't have to go to travel school get a travel degree. I applied and got hired and went through the training via my company. :) They have seperate training you can do with Disney, Universal, different hotel chains, etc. When you graduate the Disney College of Knowledge you get a Mickey Ear Grad hat!

Thanks! I hope you have a GREAT vacation as well! Where are you staying??

that sounds like fun!! and not too much like hard work!

Oh man that sounds so FUN!! I can't wait to go to Universal. I was going to wait until Landon was older and could enjoy more there...but I may have to go early for HP Land!! :wizard:

And don't you hate when you *think* something is cheaper and then realized you forgot something? Same thing happened to me yesterday. :sad2:

Universal is great! Admittedly, it's no Disney, but it's a lot of fun and the Spiderman ride is the BEST! I'm going to be asking them a million questions about HP land. :thumbsup2

I couldn't figure out why it was so much cheaper! I knew something couldn't be right. :rotfl:

SO FUN!!! :thumbsup2 You'll have to include this trip in your Disney TR!

I will! Before I go away, I'm planning on buying a new laptop so if it comes in time for the trip, I'll be taking it with me. If not, it will be waiting at home for me to start my TR!
