hahahaha! totally agree. and it's not even significant others. my dad is the WORST! I'll bring something up and he'll tell me I've never told him. Then my step mom will chime in and give him exact dates and word for word... 'Yes...she told you...we were eating at Holihans and she brought it up during the appetizer' ... :)

OK, I am just adding a couple of May Dis meet pictures to encourge all of my fellow September Disney buddies. Let's get one together :thumbsup2.

Ok, dear Dana, I just happened upon this wonderful PTR. How could I have missed it all this time? I am sorry. 20 lashes for me. Hope you are well and I know you are staying busy for sure. Just a little over a month out. Yippee. We miss you on our TR. We have talked a lot. Not about you only that we miss you. Now I'll finish reading.

Sorry everybody I have just got to vent about this. Dale was up at 3:30 this morning. He said he could not sleep anymore :sad2:. I told him about the story on the news yesterday stating that having severe sleep apnea(more than 30 episodes in and hour, Dale had 39)increased the chance of an early death by 46% :scared1:. He just brushed me off. I got a call from him, while he was out on sales calls this morning, telling me one of his customers had printed off a news article about the 46% increase. Oh and now he believes it ?:rolleyes1 Why is it that when I say it, it must be wrong, but when someone else says the same exact thing it becomes law? I guess college and 15 years of nursing experience is unimportant, it has to come from a guy who owns a liquor and tobacco store . Then he starts talking about changing the mask type to see if it will work better because someone at the state tax office said they have had their c-pap for 2 years and they use a different mask and that may be what he needs. Now, Roger, the guy who set up Dale's c-pap, told him he had 21 days to exchange the mask and try a different one. I told Dale that Roger has called twice to see how he was doing on the c-pap and when I told Roger THE TRUTH, he said Dale may need to change his mask out and try a different one, I too told Dale this. Well, now Mr. Medical Professionals must be Ignorant, wants to try a different mask since he heard it from someone who isn't a medical professional :sad2:.

I just KNOW the whole changing up his diet idea is going to tank even worse than this c-pap NIGHTMARE I now find myself in............GRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Thanks for listening to the rantings of a sleep depraved, losing her mind :upsidedow, getting more angry by the minute , wife.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled trip reports.

aww Dana I am so sorry for what you are doing through:( For some reason hubby's dont seem to want to take the wives advice sometimes lol i dont know why LOL the same thing happens with me and Josh-- his is that i am trying to get him to stop smoking:( It seems that men will not let anyone tell them what to do or give advice-- but sometimes when it comes from someone else not as close to them i think they think in there heads " oh wow now that i heard this twice it must be true" but they will never admit that when you said it the first time it concerned them- they are all macho like yeah im fine. Dale has a family and a wonderful wife-- he needs to realize that its health is most important and then he needs to get healthy to be around for you guys:) He will get used to it!! Like you said it my post yesterday the he had a hard time with change-- maybe he should try a different mask? How is the diet coming along? It will take awhile for him to get used to everything--- but i would be all worried too !! you want him to just be healthy!! I am always here to listen to vents and talk or anything:) I tell ya our hubbys are causing us a lot of stress lately!! we will be each others support system!! :woohoo: and we have de- stressing disney trips coming up soon-- that we have to look forward too:)

Dude.....one word....MAN!!! HELLO!!! They let what we tell them go in one ear and out the other! I've been trying to get Chris to do stuff for EVER and now that he's at this new unit, a light bulb goes on....so I wouldn't take it personally, even tho we as wives do! Just be happy he's LISTENING finally!! All we can do is gripe, and love them!

It is just aggravating isn't it? And men say they don't understand women, ha we are pretty simple animals, or at least I think so. I have a very good memory and Dale can't stand it. I can remember everything about our first date, over 23 years ago :lmao:.

YEAH Ginny is here too!!. Nah, I will cut you a break this time and only give you 15 lashes :rotfl:. I am hanging in there, I don't mind being busy, it is the stress that is driving me bonkers. I am on my way over to your TR in a few. I miss ya'll too. I hate that I have gotten so far behind on my friends :sad1:.

Men, you can't live with em and ya can't kill em....:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:. I think they act like they do because they hate to admit we are always right.

I hope we can get one together, they are a lot of fun.

Thank you girl. I just don't think men understand that most of what we do, we do out of love . I told Dale I would much rather not hear him gripe and just let him go to bed, BUT I don't want him to die in his sleep. My diet is coming good, since I last updated about that I have lost 3 pounds. I ordered 3 tops at walmart.com a couple of days ago. We are going shopping this weekend so I may hit some clearance sales. It is so nice to have a support system and you are ohhhhhhhhh so right about the upcoming de-stressing Disney trip :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:.

I know you're right. You would think me being a nurse I would be use to non-compliant patients. I guess I just didn't expect my husband to be one. I don't get it that he has been told by numerous people that sleep apnea will KILL him. The life of a wife..........:lmao:

I just caught the tail end of the MEN conversation.

Men, you can't live with em and ya can't kill em..... I think they act like they do because they hate to admit we are always right.

I so love that and it is so true. Unless of course jail doesn't sound so bad sometimes. At least it gets you away from them for a time. One of my many step dads was deaf in his left ear and everytime mother talked to him he would just turn his head. Then so cutely say "oh, Mary were you talking". Of course she would repeat and once again the head would turn. He was a total hoot.

I've been reading your TR all day. I am on page 18 now. Will finish but now I am going to work on my own before the kick me off the dis.

So nice to talk to you again.

Ginny

When Dale got home this evening we went to the home health office and had Dale fitted for a new c-pap mask. He had one that cover the whole nose and he had the look of an astronaut

cpapmask.jpg

Now he has the nasal prongs and I am hoping it will be better.

newcpapmask.jpg

Not quite as confining so I'm praying it works.

Hey that is an idea . When I try to act like I don't hear Dale he just keeps calling my name and gets louder and louder .

I'm so glad you found my report .

Then when you try to whisper and keep something from them they hear every word. :rotfl:

I got more posted on my report so I'm off to read more of yours. I just can't believe I didn't see this. Let's blame it on a senior moment.

My girlfriend is a neo nurse here at one of our hospitals too. They have to work 4 out of 6 weeks on a friday, saturday or sunday. She was on nights but got a day job. She is so excited. Her oldest son graduates this year so now she won't miss all of the activities.

I have the nasal prongs too. But not the top piece that goes over my head. It is very lightweight and I really like it. I have to go get new prongs tomorrow. They are getting very soft and don't stay put. Mine is a resmed.

Dana, I really have to say...I know Dale needs this and once he gets use to it he will probably not be able to sleep without it. But, I don't know if I could sleep with that lesser version much less the one they have on the news. Just don't tell Dale I said that. It will be our secret  I think I would feel like someone was trying to suffocate me; isn't that funny its the opposite.

Oh! well .... I really hope this one works for him and you can finally have some peace...

Hi Dana! Hope Dale does better with his new mask.

Your vent tickled me because I know EXACTLY what you mean. Joe can be the same exact way. Until his Mom or Dad tells him the same thing it just isn't so. At least Dale is going to try again. Maybe you need to call the guy at the liquor store and get him to tell Dale that he needs to change his diet too. :goodvibes

Leanne,
:thumbsup2 that's awesome advice
might be Dana's key to her entire ordeal:lmao:

Dana, I hope your nights are getting better!
Have a great Day!!

Ok Dana, Here is my mask. But I don't wear it over my head. It hangs down so I can sleep on my stomach. It is pretty much like Dale's new one.

I've had it since Feb and I had to get new prongs. The old ones have gotten too soft and let air escape. I couldn't do that full mask. I felt to confined for sure.

OK sorry I have been MIA. I had to work Thursday and Friday and then yesterday was our "outing day" then Amanda and I went shopping. Then :guilty: I must confess I am addicted to Farm town on facebook. So, I am going to try and catch up. I miss all my Dis friends when I am away too long.

Hey, it isn't a senior moment, it is a "I'm a woman trying to do it all" moment.....lol. At least that is my excuse :rolleyes1.

I love my job. I am so blessed to have the opportunity to take care of such precious angels. I know your friend is excited about day shift. Night shift is horrible on the body. I

Dale's is a resmed too. Still having the fights about it though :headache:.

I have to agree Connie. I am VERY claustrophobic and I don't think I could sleep with something on my face, but shhhhhhhhhhh. When I had to have my thumb re-attached, I woke up from surgery and the first thing I did was pull the oxygen mask off. It is much easier to Preach than to do :guilty:.

I enjoyed our talk early Saturday morning!! How did the fair go?

As far as men, I think it must be something in their DNA. Tyler is as bad as Dale about saying I said this and I didn't say that :sad2:. Drives me CRAZY. He has actually lost 17 lbs in 2 weeks :scared1:. How unfair is that?

Leanne,

I though about calling David and telling him that, but he is the kind of person that would tell Dale I called :sad2:.

I'm Glad it is working for you. I am trying to be patient with Dale. That is not one of my best virtues :rolleyes1.

Congratulations !!! to Dale on the weight loss!!!!
(it is very unfair how men just lose weight and we fight with it) I woke up this morning and decided I need to lose 40#'s...first I need to decide how I'm going to go about it. My first priority is to get off of this computer and out of the house!!! I think I'm going to go and buy some salad and chicken fixings and stay away from what I cook for the family for a week or two and than start major portion control (and very little carbs)!!! I need to do something!!! never been this big in my life!!!

Have a great week!!
P.S. Ashton & I were getting hooked on Farmtown also but I am just not getting the hang of it...it is taking me forever to develop my farm and as I said I need to get off the computer soooo much!!!
