Don't get me wrong . . . we loved the movie but our kids are a little older and don't have the interest in the Frozen activities. I read somewhere on here about Frozen weekends in September . . . not sure if it's official yet. How do you think this will affect our touring strategy in HS during these weekends? We're planning on RD this year and also catching American Idol during one of these evenings (I think the 7:00 performance).

So how does this affect the rides and AIE? I thought I read that they close some rides early during the Frozen evenings because of fireworks.:confused3

I can't answer from the "Frozen" perspective, but they had similar fireworks for Star wars weekend. If they're the same, they go off from the right of the Sorcerer's hat. They roped off the area on that side, so attractions like Toy Story Mania, Walt Disney and Little Mermaid were closed. AIE should not be affected, but I think their final show tends to be around 7:00 and I imagine the fireworks would be a little later, but prior to Fantasmic (if running).

I know TSMM has been closing early because the area is in the fallout zone from the fireworks. Can't speak to any other rides.

Ok makes sense . . . thanks!

Our Hollywood Studios day is planned for September 27th, the day before it ends. Will it be extremely busy? Our TSMM fastpass+ is from 5:55-6:55, should we change it for earlier due to the fireworks and the ride closing early? We are 3 adults, not crazy about Frozen.

I don't think it will be all that busy. September is pretty quiet. I suspect there will be more people at the Studios than there would have been because of Frozen, but I can't imagine it being "extremely" busy.

My initial inclination is you should be ok with your FP for TSMM, since they allowed you to create it. However, it sounds like these dates were just added to extend Frozen, so maybe they'll have to shut things down early. Remember they have to get everyone thru an attraction and out before they can close the area effectively. If you could move your FP up an hour or so, I would probably do that if it isn't too disruptive to your schedule.

I'm not sure when the fireworks actually go off. Sunset in late September is around 7:15, so it won't be before that. If you can't (or don't want to) change your FP, it would make sense to show up on the 5:55 end of your window.

Aside from some attractions closing early, I don't think you'll have an issue. We have 2 Frozen obsessed kids, and we went to DHS and they had no clue about any of the Frozen events going on. The only thing that was an issue was the crowd at the hat later in the evening. We did eventually do the package, but the Frozen stuff did not negatively impact us.

I think you should be fine. We were just there a few weeks ago. We weren't really interested in any of the Frozen activities either. We did walk into the ice skating rink and into the store to see them, but that's about it. The only thing I was planning on seeing was the fireworks. We did go to the final show of AIE at 7:00, and there were no issues.

The only thing I will tell you is if there are two shows of Fantasmic on the evening you will be there, just plan on there being quite a few people heading back to the second show after the fireworks are finished.

We are flying in on the 28th, the last day for this. Flight comes in at 9:30am and we have tickets for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party that night. Not sure if it's worth using one of our park hopper days to see this when we won't be able to spend all day?

The only other "regular" event that is impacted along with TSMM is JTA which has one less session due to the Frozen processional.

Character Palooza has relocated to New York Street because of the Sing-Along queue. See KennythePirate.com for Palooza scheduling.

Considering you won't reach your resort until 11:30 or so, and, you can enter MNSSHP @ 4:00, it would not be worth using a ticket for DHS. If you did go in, you would be using a ticket to see an ice rink, merchandise, and the Sing-Along.

I am hoping this keeps crowds away from where I DO want to be. I plan on avoiding the Frozen stuff like a Brazilian Tour Group.

Thanks so much for the replies!! It sounds like we'll hopefully be fine . . . glad to hear!

Our Disney dates are 9/25-9/29 and with the new Frozen dates being announced for 9/26-9/28 I was thinking of moving our HS day from 9/26 to 9/25 in hopes of having lighter crowds. From what I am understanding from some of the posts is that the Frozen Celebration is not effecting the crowd level as much as I thought it would. Am I understanding that correctly or did I miss something?
I would much rather have a lighter crowd and go back one night for the fireworks than to fight crowds all day.

I'm there that last weekend too. We were planning DHS for Saturday 9/27, but have no moved it to 9/25. I can't see Frozen+limited fireworks+Saturday night being a good idea.

Friday could potentially have decent crowds too. MK is an early close/party night, so you could more people flocking to DHS for the longer houses and fireworks. They just updated the DHS schedule to a 9 pm close.
