Sept is almost here!! Daily updates & My sister is there!!

Hi!!

I saw some pictures on the cake thread and I also read some reviews also and from what I have read, the cakes from the Grand Floridian Bakery are good, so I thought I would get one from there. I hope it's good, for the price of the cakes they should be. Are you thinking of getting one too? I am wanting "20 Years if Magic" on it and just a simple but pretty cake that has a little detail on it to make it special. I would do a mini wedding cake but it wont be big enough for all of us. If it were just Mike & me, I would have just had that because he is not a big sweet eater like me.

Carla

I was thinking of getting two cakes actually. One for DH for our anniversary as a surprise and one for a friend celebrating his birthday. Maybe I need to try the Grand Floridian Bakery. We're going for a short trip in May and I don't need the cakes until September so maybe I will try a "test cake" when I go in May?

Not quite. We're going in August and I started last month. I just updated today. I love the Big Blue World song! My dad gave me three CDs of Disney music which I downloaded onto iTunes and made a Disney playlist. I think, one morning, my grandpa might just kill me while driving me to school.

You sound like me!! I have my Disney CD playing all of the time in the car. The kids sit there with their ipods on ignoring me. :lmao: I don't care... they will understand one of these days. :lmao:

Oh my!! If you try one, please let me know what you thought about it. Of course I love cake, but I like them moist. I read somewhere that someone got a dry one. I think I would send it back. :rotfl2:

I will be sure to report back if I get to try a cake. I'm going to look into how far in advance it has to be requested, etc. this weekend.

I'm reading! Your family is so cute! As for planning early, I dont think you're starting too soon. I've been obsessive about our Sept. trip too. I haven't been to Disney in 3 years, DH hasn't been in 5 and DD has NEVER been, so there's a LOT of planning involved. Cant wait to read more of your plans! Do you have a planning binder yet?

Hi!!

So you all are going in Sept? :cool1: You will have a blast. The last time that we went, it was in Sept 07 and we loved it. There was little to no wait on most all of the attractions and it was awesome. It was very hot, but I can deal with the heat. I really wish we could do it again then, but I can't pull my three kids out of school to do it, DH wont let me.

As for the planning binder, well I need one because I have a planning drawer with park maps, books, things that I always take to Disney and everything else in it. :lmao: My kids thought I was crazy when I took my park maps down to Office Max to have them laminated, but it was one of the best ideas that I have ever had. They would be have been shredded by now. :rotfl2:

Have you started a pretrip report yet? I'm really not sure what to do, I'm just rolling with the flow here and keeping up with my thoughts and plans. I am really hoping that my friend goes with her family. It will be so fun to help her plan too. Disney World is my favorite subject to talk about. :rotfl2:

In my car, it's the opposite. Except, I never bring headphones on total accident:rolleyes1

:rotfl2: I think we have memorized Big Blue world. My son is now acting it out, it's really funny. My teenager thinks that I am a dork, especially since today I found a purse in her closet that she bought at Disney, and tossed mine to use hers. :rotfl2: Here I am a forty year old woman walking around with a Disney purse now. Oh well, anyone who knows me will understand. :thumbsup2

When my sister was at Disney this past Oct, she bought me a Tinker Bell car tag, well you could barely see Tink, it was mainly the Castle with a banner that said Walt Disney World or Where Dreams Come True, I can't remember now. I loved it though. Anyway, I went through a touch less car wash and the paint came off of the tag. I called Disney and they were going to send a new one to me, when they received the old one in the mail. Well, they sent a purple Tinker Bell tag that would look awful on my charcoal gray SUV. I called them back today and they are sending me a new tag and she told me to keep the other one. I thought that was nice. I have no idea what I am going to do with this one, but it was nice of them to do that.

Just another reason why I love Disney. :goodvibes

My favorite one is the Winnie the Pooh theme song. :lovestruc It's like an addiction! Luckily, I'm only 13 so I can get away with a Disney purse. But, that doesn't stop my mom from using the Tinkerbell purse I bought her four years ago:thumbsup2

OK, I feel better now knowing your Mom also carries a Disney purse. :thumbsup2 Are you going to Disney anytime soon? :) My girls are getting so excited. My 16 year old daughter, Lauren, went down to Orlando last summer with a friend of hers but they didn't go to the parks, only to DTD & Typhoon Lagoon. She said it was the hardest thing that she has ever done. She said it was like putting your finger into the icing one time and never getting a bite of the cake. :rotfl2: Bless her heart, we are going to make this trip extra special for her. :wizard:

Middle to end of August. That sounds like a good idea.

So it's Spring Break week here and I sure with that we were at Disney. I checked the weather for Orlando and it looks like it's going to be a beautiful week. That's wonderful for the people there this week. :goodvibes

I am making a change to our plans. They no longer want to go to Whispering Canyon Cafe, so we are now going back to Coral Reef that night. Thoughts?

Sounds like your plans are coming right along. I forget, are you doing the DDP? I can't wrap my brain around ADR's yet. I think it's because Rob will eat anything and I can never decide too far in advance.

I know what you mean about spring break. I have lots of friends who are down there right now and I am jealous (and happy for them of course.) I really want to be there, but then I think about crowds and am glad I am going in October!

Oh I know! I wish I was there but we have done that before, and I really love going in Oct the best. :goodvibes

We are doing the dining plan, and I am real happy about that. I truly enjoy eating at all of the places there at the Resort. I am getting nervous about booking my ADR's. Once that it done, I can sit back and relax and just focus on the fun things.

We have never worn matching clothes before, DH wouldn't do it anyway, but I am looking for some cute things to take with us. I like the safari look for Animal Kingdom and something really cute for MK. I also need something cute for Ohana, you know, we have to fit in. :rotfl2: I think I will spend all summer looking for clothes for this one week this fall. :rotfl2:

I KNOW I'm not the only one like this out there.:lmao:

Ok, on top of planning this Disney trip, I am now also planning a trip to Gatlinburg for this June. :thumbsup2 It should be fun, we always go in the Winter so being there when it's warm will be a real treat! I HATE cold weather!! :rotfl2:

Oh, I totatlly understand about shopping for clothes. I bought 3 t-shirts 2 weeks ago. The whole time I was looking at them I was like "These will be great for Disney. Oh, and I can probably wear them under suit coats at the office for the spring." Umm...clearly my priorities are the trip, not what to wear in the office for spring and summer! AND, I have already gotten my bag for my trip. It was supposed to only be ordered for the trip. Then that got changed to "I'll get it for myself for my birthday." Which in reality turned out I got it a month BEFORE my birthday. Now, I feel like I should get my suitcases out and pack the stuff I don't need until Disney.

:rotfl2: I know!! I'm already getting my cameras in order. I had a problem last time with my memory stick not holding enough pictures. It only holds like 300. My children have new ones that hold a lot more but they don't fit into my camera. I have got to go somewhere and find something that works better, but I don't want to spend an arm & leg.

Right now, I am planning on starting a diet. My kids have been out of school this week and we went to my mom's house. I always eat way to much while we are there. So, Monday I am starting fresh. Wish me luck!!:wizard:

Oh yea, I doubt that my friend will be going because they are having to put a new roof on her house. I also thought that my sister & her family might go down the same time, but they are planning on possibly going in Sept for the free dining. They haven't decided yet. Big bummer, because even if we don't spend much time together at all, it's just fun knowing that they are there too.

I don't think that my Mickey & Minnie on my ticker are ever going to move. :rotfl2:

I am sitting here with a relaxing drink and wondering what to do next. Any advice?

popcorn::
I almost forgot, I got my park maps today!!!! They are so cute. I am going to have them laminated on Monday. My kids will love that!!

I love that you are getting park maps laminated!! That will be so much fun for your family!

I know what you are feeling. I keep thinking, "What can I do now? When can I book this?" The time is just crawling by. Oh October, where are you??
