Sept-Dec Room Discounts ~ Information Here

I have run the numbers and must be doing something wrong. When I try to figure how much a RO discount would save us after having to pay the new ticket prices, I am showing it would cost us more! I am booked through a travel agent so I don't know what we originally payed for our tickets. Does anyone know how much 5 day park hoppers went up? ages 3-9 and ages 10+?

I heard the people on allearsnet was admonishing people for spreading and believing rumors of discounts. They must have got a lot of flack for all the people looking for discounts this morning.

I'm still holding out hope. I'm booked standard view at BC Oct 11-17 and I can really use that 35% discount!

Got through but was told no new offers today. :upsidedow

Don't be surprised if and when the RO discounts come out that the 35% off is on the Vilas. The last time 35% was offered in 2011(?) the Villas were 35% and regular rooms at 30%. I am waiting for the discount to be released currently booked at Poly but might be tempted to change if the numbers are right.

Your week at BC might be hard to come by unless you upgrade your room catagory as I believe that is the week of the Gartnier Symposium plus being F&W making Std and GV scarce.

So what's the best strategy for getting a RO discount? Book the rooms you want in advance so you don't have to worry about not getting them and then call to ask to have the discount applied? Or just wait until the discount is released and then book? I've been waiting but hearing people say they're already booked but still waiting for the discount makes me think that maybe I shouldn't wait to book.

Thoughts?

If you want a particular type room and are willing to pay rack rate go ahead and book early. Otherwise hold off and wait for discounts to be released. Booking serves no purpose other than to raise the booking % which is what Disney uses when they allocate rooms and The amount of % off for there promotions.

If you book now will not guarantee you a discount.

Thanks to those who tried again today. I was going to call but you all beat me to it. Saved me a distraction at work.
I plan to keep trying every morning or checking here.

Yeah, a big thanks to everyone for calling and checking for discounts! Of course, I'm still distracted at work by it all ;) And I'm having one of those days anyways :badpc: so it's a good distraction!

Exactly. We booked a mod (POR) because in case no codes or rooms were available .We wanted to stay somewhere we know we can stay in budget. I am waiting for a code for a deluxe for my dates. Then I will book that and cancel the mod if it is a decent code. If not, c'est la vie. I am still happy at POR.

Looking back at my original post here, I notice I didn't phrase it like I did on the free dining thread.

Just to be clear, the original leak for Room and Free Dining promos only stated August 1st. We, as we always do, peppered in the Disney Visa offer based on the fact that it's supposed to happen as one of the card benefits. Like another poster mentioned, if they stop offering it early to Visa members, that certainly removes one of the great perks of the card.

I AM A DISNEY VISA CARD HOLDER AND HAVE SEEN NOTHING YET???

Ok thanks. I'm kind of tempted to book now but I guess I'll wait...

black562, any word on whether or not the discounts are what you originally posted, or if they're what was posted on Chip and Co.'s site? I noticed moderates were only 20% on their site versus the "up to 30%" posted here.

I have no idea where those came from. I'll do my due diligence and stick with what I posted.
