Sept-Dec Room Discounts ~ Information Here

Does anyone know if AP holder discount comes out for the same time would it also blackout Thanksgiving week? Would the AP holder discount be greater or the same as the general?

Thanks for any help. Trying to figure it all out is making me crazy!

I don't want to open any new credit cards and do not have the Disney visa so I will hope for the best for my chances on Aug 1. :)

AP discounts come out a little later last year but the initial discount was greater. It was only for a limited time and then went down to the same as the VISA discount. It also included 24 December which none of the other discounts included. I THINK. My memory isn't always the greatest.

so if you have a disney visa... how will we find out if the offer is released? Can I just call disney the morning of the 29th to check... or should i check the disney visa offer website??

Just call Disney. The website is usually updated later in the day.

:goodvibes I have my trip booked with AAA and after speaking to my agent today she told me I would need to call her with the "pin" for the Disney Visa on Monday. I know I have seen in the past that there is a digit code so my question is will the code be put on this thread? I don't want to wait until later in the day if the Disney Visa website is not updated in the morning. Also has any one split their already booked package into two separate reservations if, say, the room discount is only available for some of the nights, not all? I was thinking of doing it if that is my only choice- keep my AAA discount for the nights it will cover and then book the other nights with the bigger discount. Would that screw up any of my dining reservations that IPO has already booked? I am aware that I would have to check out and then check back in but if I can save a good amount of money I'm thinking it might be worth it? Also would that screw up my tickets? Any help would be great and appreciated! ;)

Welcome to the Dis :goodvibes. If you are on the reservation, you will be able to call and make changes/have a discount applied.

As with all discounts, there are only so many rooms available at a discount. If the resort/room type you currently have booked is available with the discount, your existing reservation can easily be modified without cancelling/rebooking. Cancelling and rebooking is only needed when you go from one reservation type to the other (RO to package, and vice versa). Room only and packages are different reservation systems, so money paid toward one cannot be applied to the other. If you can book first thing in the morning, sometimes that's the best as far as having a better chance of getting exactly what you want. But with that said, I have called/checked online to book a trip under a promo days after it had been released and have gotten what I wanted :).

Thanks so much. Very informative for a newbie to both the boards and Disney itself.

If we have a red that was made not paying deposit withvDisney Visa can we get the Ro and make another payment using the visa or do we have to make a new red or wait till Thursday?

We went last year Thanksgiving week with AP discount and got 30 or 35% off our first few nights, through Monday night of that week, I believe. We are going same week this year and I am hoping that the AP RO offer extends into the week again. Even just a few days will help!

This is such exciting news!! I was so bummed to miss out on FD. Hopefully this one will pan out. Good luck to everyone Monday morning!!! :)

I read through, but couldn't find this info...

If the room only discount starts during your stay, do you have to check out and check back in to get the discount applied from that day forward?

We are going November 27th through December 4th, staying at WL. I currently have a AAA discount for the entire stay which I think is 10%. I would be willing to check out and check back in on November 30th if I could get a bigger discount from the 30th on. It would be easier if I didn't have to check out and back in though.

If I have to check out and back in, can I keep the AAA discount for the first part and use the room only for the second part?

Thank you so much. I have never done this before!!

Room discounts work different than free dining. You get a room discount on each night it's offered, so in your case you would just get it for the nights of your stay it applies....very easy and simple.

Thank you!!

So I can use the AAA discount for the first few nights and then apply the room only discount (without the AAA discount) for the remainder of the stay, correct?

FD is the bigger of the deals. If I have to choose one it will be that one.

Not necessarily...for some folks the RO discount is actually the better bargain in the long run.

I have heard countless stories from folks who claim there was too much food when they used the Free Dining program. In many instances they felt they were wasting food. Don't kid yourself...you are still theoretically paying for the food during Free Dining promotion, you are simply paying less. So if you are not eating all the food offered, and that food gets thrown away, you may not feel as if you are saving as much as you thought.

If you have a family of light to moderate eaters...the Room only discount & purchasing your food as you go might be the better value. You really need to crunch the numbers to determine which plan works for you.

Good luck! :thumbsup2
