Sept. 9. 2004

Good to see that the 9/9 cruise will go as scheduled. Has anyone talked to DCL to find out if we will be making any stops? I will be happy to be on the boat and away from local T.V. I know I have to keep up on the weather but I am so tired of hearing the word Hurricane. I may not make it to Deck 9, after all of this stress I told DH I am going to get myself a massage.

I thought I might try to call tomorrow, figured they were very busy trying to reach the earlier cruisers.

Maybe we should all have a massage and meet there. LOL! Will they serve us our "we made it" cocktail?

Well this will be my final posting until I get back home on the 12th

So to all I don't see have a great trip and be safe.

To all the people I will see do the same and I will see you in a couple days.

My flight is still going to depart and I will be there tomorrow. It looks like a couple parks at WDW will be closed tomorrow but Magic Kingdom and a couple others are open. The other parks will open in Tuesday.

OK to everyone be safe have fun and enjoy.

Bon Voyage!

We're slated to fly out tomorrow (Mon. morning) as well.
Have a safe trip, everyone, and let's keep Ivan away with some pixie dust!
Barb

I saw this update on disney's web site

linkage

The September 9th three-night cruise to the Bahamas is still set to depart as scheduled from Port Canaveral.

guess I'd better get my laundry done!

Don't worry Barb - we won't think you're standing us up:)

It's starting to look like we're going to make this cruise after all -- but what about the ships coming in today?? Isn't the 9/6 supposed departure of the "used to be 9/5" Wonder sailing going to get messed up? I wondered if that would affect us - guess I should check the Disney site.

I'll check in again later :)

Just got off the phone with DCL. The Wonder can not get into the Port. They are being sent to Port Everglades and will not get off the ship until Tuesday. The lady I spoke to was very kind and said that I should stay in contact with DCL, but as of now we are departing from PC at the regularly scheduled time. Also, she said they do not know about any ports of call, they are still assessing damage in the Bahammas and CC. She did say that the DCL port terminal has been checked and it is okay.

On a side note, I finally called the Radisson (we had reservations to stay there on Wed. night) and they are not going to open until Saturday. Now I'm trying to find a room somewhere else.

DD called 1-888-333-333 and got us changed to an Orlando Raddison. The rate was around $75-76 per nite. We contacted the limo and for $ 50 more is picking us up at airport then the next morning to go to the ship See ya soon!!!

I called WDW reservations and booked the Poly for Wed. night. Got a good rate due to FL residence discount.

I'm getting worried about the Port. On another thread it says,
an article in FLORIDATODAY that said "Port Canaveral is closed until further notice"......And that everyone on cruises this week should contact their cruise line to find out where they will depart.

I've called DCL and they are still saying we will go out Thursday from PC. After watching the national news I might should start worrying about gasoline too.

Too late, I already worried about gasoline. lol

Have you guys thought about what you're going to do if it ends up being a "cruise to nowhere"? If they offer us some kind of compensation? I'm going to go anyway. If they don't, I'm going to cancel.

But...if we all end up on the cruise...just remember....I'll be the geek with the ABC nametag on that says "Bridget Ogden" at Pluto's Dog House after the sail away party :) And if we can't buy a drink there? We'll all head someplace else and buy our "we made it" drink!

Good luck to everybody and good heavens I hope we make it!!

Hello hello again everyone...

I just wanted to let you all know...I just saw a "live from the Wonder" post on the other board -- it said that the captain told them that PC won't open until Thursday or later-- that could mean we sail out of Port Everglades??

Does anybody have any idea how far from MCO that is?

I called DCL today and they said that Disney would shuttle us from MCO in the event that the cruise sails out from a different port...but MAN, after flying in on the red-eye? I want to GET there - LOL!

Kalypso or Honeychild

Will you give me the number to DCL, to give my co-worker the number to get the latest updates.....please.

HELP!

:sunny: Hi everyone, I phoned the dcl this am and the said we will go out of canaveral as planned, dont know the destination but it will be exciting for all. I know my family of 21 are still looking forward to the trip. See you all thursday.

Hi bobbie - I phoned DCL late yesterday and they told me the same thing - I just went on the PC website and it says that the port will be closed until at least Wednesday - so...let's hope we DO sail out of Port Canaveral!! I am pretty sure we will be on a cruise to nowhere. I know they are planning a fly-over of Castaway Cay today...but I don't have high hopes about us being able to dock there....

There is currently an update on disney cruise line website about your cruise and changes to port, they will bus you to the ship from areas in and around florida, check it out, posted 4.30pm, Have a great cruise.

Disney Cruise Line® –
Important Information
Revised September 7, 2004 4:30 pm EST

The impact of Hurricane Frances has required us to make additional changes to some upcoming sailings.

Disney Wonder, September 9, 3-night Bahamas Cruise
Due to the planned closure of Port Canaveral through Thursday, September 9, we will be embarking guests for this cruise from Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale.

Complimentary transfers to Port Everglades will be provided from:

The Orlando International Airport
The WDW Resort
Port Canaveral
The Ft. Lauderdale International Airport
The Miami International Airport
Guests with flights booked independent of Disney Cruise Line should remain on their scheduled flights to avoid change fees. Guests who are driving are encouraged to park at one of the Central Florida locations including the Orlando International Airport, Walt Disney World Resort or Port Canaveral, as we anticipate debarkation in Port Canaveral on Sunday, September 12, 2004, pending the ports re-opening.

Our itinerary will include a stop at Nassau and a day at sea.

Disney Magic, September 11, 7-night Western Caribbean Sailing
Currently, there are no changes planned for this Saturday’s sailing out of Port Canaveral. We are prepared to make itinerary changes, if necessary, due to weather or other challenges at Port Canaveral.

Well everybody...have a great cruise...we are unfortunately being forced to rebook:(

My DBF's mom is in the hospital as of this a.m. - she is in the middle of a messy breakup and swallowed a bunch of pills :(

So...with everything else that's been happening and the imminent approach of Ivan?

We just decided to re-book.
Because I am a CM I didn't have too much selection and had to take a downgrade in cabins :( but that's okay...we are now rebooked on the Wonder for 9/30.

Hope everybody has a great trip and I guess now I'd better go find out if there's a 9/30 thread and change my countdown!

James - I still want all the details on your proposal!
Happy sailing everyone...
and have a "we made it" drink for me!!!
