Dear Richard,

We are thrilled that you will be sailing aboard the Disney Magic® from the port of New York.

This is just a brief reminder to let you know that the ship will be departing from the Manhattan Cruise Terminal's Pier 88.

We look forward to welcoming you aboard soon!

Sincerely,

I think it's the familiarity of knowing the name that makes people more likely to interact with the dog. Most people know not to talk to/play with/touch a strange dog, but if you know the name, the dog's not a stranger, right?

The key is just to ignore the dog and not interact in any manner.

My mom's dog is from The Seeing Eye in Morristown, NJ.

I know that place. My sister does transports for rescue dogs to the Seeing Eye.

Hey everyone!
I am all packed because I leave wednesday! A day and a half work is all that stands between me and the Disney magic!!!

For those of you coming NY this week, the forecast is not great thru Thursday. Heavy rains tomorrow and rain through Thursday. All fall off from Isaac.

Bite your tongue for Thursday. :rotfl2: I saw that on the news this morning and hope it changes by Thurs. afternoon. We're getting heavy storms in DE today and even have tornado warnings for part of the state right now.

The final countdown is on - day 1 of 3 work days to get through - hope I can make it :lmao:

Watching Tropical Storm Leslie - hope she blows out to sea and doesn't affect us - they are calling for high surf all up the Eastern Coast

Have a magical day!

Tammy

I just heard on the local New York news that another hurican is going to effect the Eastern shore. The weather man said that we will probably have high seas especially off the coast of of Maine. I hope the forcast is wrong.

Have already purchased a large box of Bonine and it is in my travel bag.

Linda

:rotfl2: I have my bonine ready to go, going to start taking it tomorrow - I also bought Ginger pills and a huge box of ginger candy (which my family made fun of) - think I'm gonna bring some ginger ale too. From the Weather Channel map we might be sailing right through Leslie on our way home :worried::worried::worried:

Just be glad we're not going on the 9/12 sailing. They be accompanied by Leslie.

Just a reminder that New York cab fares have gone up effective today. Although it may take until the end of the month, which is the deadline, for all cabs to recalibrate their meters.

Any of you soccer fans? The one problem I foresaw in booking this cruise was that it was during a world cup qualifying period. The US plays Jamaica on Tuesday night and I'm trying to figure out how to tell my DW that I'll be in Diversions while she and my mom are watching Disney Dreams :-)

This was supposed to be one of my two full days in the office this week before departing for New York Thurs. evening. However, after I had gone less than a mile on the freeway this morning toward my office, traffic came to a dead stop. About 50 police cars passed by, along with several ambulances, and there was a helicopter flying overhead. According to my DH, a California Highway Patrol officer had been shot, the freeway was closed and they were diverting everyone off the freeway. After about an hour of sitting in the same spot, the CHP started turning everyone around right on the freeway. About two hours after I had left the house I returned, after having gone about 2 miles in my overall commute. Needless to say, I am working from home the rest of today. On the plus side, since I was so fidgety after having sat in my car for two hours going virtually nowhere, as soon as I came home, I put on the workout gear and went for a 5-mile walk. Bonus exercise! Assuming I actually make it to the office tomorrow, that will be my last day there before working from home on Thus. to prepare for a Thurs. evening redeye from SFO to JFK. So ready for this trip!

WOW
I check sfgate.com every am and saw that a CHP was shot on 680 and they shut it down. Wishing you pixiedust: for tomorrow!

What a nightmare! I saw it on the news--sounds like they had the freeway shut down in both directions for most of the day.

Anyone else having trouble packing? This potential rainy weather is really throwing me for a loop!
