Sept. 7, 2012 - Magic NYC - Canada

My cruise docs arrived today!
But still waiting for hubby's.pirate:
Question: Did I see some where that you could wear jeans to dinner:confused3? I know there is a semi-dress up the second nite but jeans for dinner? And Pirate nite - do we bring costumes/props for the dinner and party? How does that work?
Thanks!

You can wear jeans to dinner. Some folks go all out on Pirate Night with costumes, some just add a few items to the dinner wear. Do what ever you feel comfortable with.

We have late dining. The waitstaff is pretty good about getting you out of the dining room before the party starts.

Are you and Dh in seperate rooms? If not then his documents should be in the same package.

Hi Maggie! I work nights, sometimes things get a little hazy....
I am pretty sure I was the one who gave you the sizes for my kids, but I have some of the sizes for Connie's kids too.
Tommy size 10
Daniella size 4
Christopher size 18 months.
She told me Colin's size, but I forgot. Will supply ASAP.
I went shopping last week, got some cool stuff, ordered some cool stuff too. I LOVE giving presents! I look forward to making them when the kids get a little older as I hopefully continue to cruise DCL....
Amy

Hi Amy, Don't have the sizes for your kids, if you can send I would appreciate. Thanks for sharing for Connie's, if you have Colin's I will update my list with all :) Margaret

Just mine came in the mail today. 2 luggage tags with my name only and a spiral bound booklet. No room number yet. Guess we have to wait a little longer.

I was just looking at the Navigator for Cruise day from the June 10 cruise, and saw this,
"TEA WITH ALICE: Be sure to stop by Guest Services to reserve your special pass for one of two opportunities to have tea with Alice. (Limited number available)."

Does anyone know about this? Is there a charge? Michelle and mom are tea drinkers and would enjoy...I don't think this is the same as the excursion, but could be wrong. Thanks for any info. :flower1:

:rockband:dancing at my house - my FE gifts are all done - now I just have to figure out how to pack them and get them to the ship in one piece.

Congratulations!!! :yay:

My docs came as well. My mom doesn't live with me so her docs were sent to her directly. But you all are in the same house so that is strange.

The supervisor I spoke to let me know that besides SemiFormal Night and Palo the rest of the ship is "Cruise Casual" that does allow for jeans in the dining rooms. I posted in the FB group thread photos of my costume I wore last November of me as Angelica from Pirates #4. You can get as dressed up as you like! :goodvibes

People on other thread's have said that it is just juice and pastries w/ no tea where it's an opp to have fun with Alice and learn table manners for little children and not a "real" tea. Great photo opp too. And it is free.

Looks like 3:00pm to me as well.

Ella says the following... "I made it 2:30pm. I didn't even look on the first page to see that it said 3pm. I'm going to keep it at 2:30pm and even if people show up at 3pm, we'll still be there. So it's all good.

NOTE***** I went back and looked up the first discussion of having our PINK drinks in Diversions. I originally said 2pm but LWQuestie is doing brunch that morning. She requested that we push it back to 3pm. SO it is indeed correct on our first page and I stand corrected. I'll probably be there at 2:30pm anyway.....hahaha."

And even though she corrects herself in the note she said she is still going to be there at 2:30pm. So, what does it hurt to say it starts at 2:30pm for those who can make it at 2:30pm like Ella, Me, my mom and others? She says that it will keep going past 3:00pm (to make sure that LWQuestie can make it) so if it has a start time of 2:30pm til 3:30/4:00pm then it will accommodate everyone who wants to attend vs exclude people who can't attend at just 3:00pm. I would think IMHO we would want to include everyone right?

I am a single mom bringing my DD & DS on this trip it will be our 6th Disney cruise. We are extremely excited about sailing from NYC. Are there any other single people travelling on this cruise???

My husband and I will be on this our 1st Disney Cruise! :cheer2:
Just booked the end of July and got the porthole restricted rate. No kids - one working and other starts back to college on Aug 27th.
Any idea when we get our room assignments? And when we will get our docs? Have gone on cruises before and even printed out the docs needed but I understand they will be mailed to us? Do they also come with luggage tags like when you fly to Disney World? We will be coming from Staten Island - a much shorter distance than driving/flying to Disney World or Disney Land!
Thanks for all the help you give!

Hey there, I used to live on Richmond Terrace on SI. I lived there for six years then I moved to Long Beach, Long Island. I worked in NYC the whole time.

Now we live in the Poconos in PA. In six months, DH John is retiring and we're moving to be near the mouse in Orlando. I can't wait.

Hope to meet you on our cruise. It won't be long now. Just one more month to go. YAY!!!!

Congratulations!!! :yay:

Christa, I see your point.....it's like is the glass half full or half empty. Bottom line.....for those that need, it' starts at 3:00pm. Come early if you can. Keep it simple.

John and I talked and we decided that we're not going to go into the city the night before. It's an added expense that we don't need. We'll leave home at 7:00am and get into the city by 9:00-9:30am considering rush hour traffic. Normally, it takes me an hour and a half to get into the city from my house, but travelling during rush hour means that I'll have to add an hour or so. It's on a Friday morning in the Summer so the traffic shouldn't be too bad. People take long weekends off during the Summer.

I keep checking the weather in Halifax. It ranges from 70s to 80s as the high for the day and it's 60s at night.

I guess I don't need any cold weather clothes, but not hot tropical clothes either. I'm not sure what I have for in between. I'm going to have a hard time packing for this cruise.

Thanks for all the welcomes!:goodvibes

Just an FYI for all the Marylanders. Sounds like most people are happy not to fly but in case you are interested, Southwest is only $50 each way between BWI and Newark. Is anyone else planning on flying from BWI on the morning of the cruise?

Just checking in after a long absence. We just returned from two weeks in Alaska (Princess, not DCL, as we wanted to go to interior Alaska.) I can't believe all of the new posts here since we left.

Now to start planning this trip. It's just DH and myself for this one. We've rented a car in Halifax to go to Peggy's Cove. Not sure what to do yet in Saint Johns.

Less than a month to go!

I will tell you that traffic the past few weeks has been lighter than usual. However, once school starts, I'd expect it to pick up a bit.

IMHO I would never fly from BWI to NY. You'd spend more time counting travel to and from the airport than driving which is no more than four hours from BWI.
