I hope you don't mind turning our focus away from fun for a short time.

If you believe in prayer please take a few moments today and pray for the people of London who have been attacked this morning. Very very sad.

There are a couple of condolence/prayer threads on the UK Community Board

:sad2: This morning, when I got on the subway at the Pentagon, I thought that there were more security guards than normal. They also had a police officer with a bomb-sniffing dog on the train platform.

This all make me so angry. What a senseless loss of life.

Very sad. :sad2:

good morning everyone:
First of all, hope that all our friends in London are OK - our prayers go out to each of you for safety.

We did meet with Celeste and Rob (and with their two sons) last night along with Renae and Eric. As Renae said, what a good time we had. Did not get home until midnight. For those of you who have eaten at Whispering Canyons, Rob wanted to order KETCHUP, lbut Celeste wouldn't let him :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We all ended up wearing different hats made from straws and napkins by the waitress who was one of the best we have ever had at Whispering Canyons. We actually closed the restaurant. Pictures were taken and Celeste will probably post them when she gets home, since I will not be able to from the ship.

Our friends from the PC cruise have both posted on our thread and all are okay over in England. Thank goodness!

Our prayers and thoughts are with all.

Linda

Hi all!!!

Getting whacked on the head to post hello on this thread already instead of reading over it all...

Yes just registered, but I've been reading over the shoulder of cherylp3 for some time now (she's my DW hence the username similarity).

Anyway hi to everyone I already know from RL. And I look forward to being with everyone on the cruise it was a ton of fun the last time around.

Hi Todd! Nice to "meet" you!! Jump right in and say HI!! I keep telling my DH to do the same, but most of the time I just tell him what's happening.

I had emailed DVC the other day re our times in Key West and got a reply that we would arrive at 11:30 AM and must be back on board by 9:45 PM. Guess no ghost tour for us. :guilty:

She also cautioned me that these could change.

Thanks for your post, Linda. I had too many windows open this morning before I left and was also in a hurry to disconnect everything.

We're not perfect, whether we want to think so or not. :rotfl:

Thanks a million.

Todd - so nice to see you posting!

Well after a day of sadness with the events in London I thought I would end on a happy note. We have another update to the photo gallery. Please stop by the meet CQUICK's family. Chuck, Connie and Patrick! We have 43 photos up in the photo gallery and what a great looking bunch!

It's great to see everyone's good-looking families. Keep sending in those pictures everyone, I love seeing them.

Hi Cruise Mates!
I'm really getting up for this for sure. It is nice to see new folks joining in. Welcome aboard!

Thanks to Mark, Mary and Kay for all you have done.
Thanks to all the posters who have made the reading fun.

Look at me, I'm beginnig poetry! :rotfl:

So DH got the trip insurance and it seems we are set. We are not planning to make plans. We are staying loose and looking forward to hooking up with anything that seems interesting. If offers are available, we may take up on some.

Hope all get their ressies as they would like.

Mark, thanks for the info about the island. The ability to walk about has me set. I know we can at least do that if nothing else. The electric cars might be fun too.

Hi All,

I was up VERY early this morning. I got an iPod mini yesterday (first time owner) and I've been compulsively uploading my Disney CDs to it. Anyway, I put on the TV and was absolutely saddened by the London bombings.

I'm directly across the river from NYC and watched the towers go down (unfortunately my cousin was in one of them). I was in tears all over again and these cowards succeeded in making me feel so vunerable once again. Ugghhh.

It's been crazy in my area all day...choppers are overhead patroling the Hudson, police are on every train, electronic highway signs state "report suspicious activity...." It's too scary for me. I hate to digress but I needed to share.

I had plans of going to Washington, DC Sat. to Sun. to see the Disneyland exhibit at the Smithsonian. We're seriously considering cancelling...but then "they" win : (

DuckieLitely...you mentioned you're in the DC area, should I still plan on coming to the city? After all, as far as fear, I live ten mins. from NYC right???

Apologies for bringing the mood down. My prayers are with those in London and the UK.

Stephanie :sad2:

Stephanie,

On a happier note, welcome to the world of iPod ownership. DH & DD gave me a mini for Christmas (lime green, of course). Maybe we can compare Disney songs while cruising in September!

Hi Todd

I have a DH I wish would post also. Glad to see you did.

Great power, Mary, do you think it would work with my DH too? :rotfl2:

Gary is up to his elbows about now with information on Key West. I pointed him to Mark's information here. Last night he had printouts and maps scattered all over the kitchen table trying to absorb it all. :teeth: Actually, it's kind of funny because I told him that if he wants to do anything specific in Key West, he better speak up now because once we get there, it's too late. It didn't take him long to begin to have an opinion. By nature, I'm the planner and Gary is the "vacationer". It's nice to see our roles are reversing a bit. :cool1:

MaryJ I'm ashamed to admit it, but lime green never occured to me - DUH! I went w/ hot pink. My DBF asked to borrow it (his 1st generation reg. size white iPod has been giving him trouble) and I said, "you really want to carry around a pink iPod!!!!" I'll have to get a skin for it, for situations like that : ) I'd love to compare songs. I have only loaded my Disney music so far, I'm not done yet, and I have close to 400 .... I have a problem :earsboy:

CGCW - I like the map idea. Since I want to go to several different spots I should do the same w/ mapping it out! Thanks for the idea.

....there's the "du-ding" got to load another CD :goodvibes

Steff : )
