Question - if there is a sunset celebration in Key West and we happen to miss our dining time is there somewhere else we can get food at a later time? Any recommendations on the ship?

All of the Deck 9 places will be serving, one's pizza and sometimes deli sandwiches and one's the closest you'll get to fast food onboard (burgers, hotdogs, tacos, chicken strips). Except I don't know if the Buffet runs or not, know it does on the Magic, but not too sure on the Wonder.

On land there sure are plenty of places too.

And there's always room service :) The ship's kettle is the best tomato soup I've had.

Bill - thanks for the info. Very helpful!

I just don't really see how we are going to handle this Bill after being on the Magic for 14 days!

Linda

Thanks Mark for the food details - I expect at some point they will come in very handy.

The Keys are getting hit with Dennis now. We are starting to feel the bands already and we are 1 1/2 hours south of Tampa. Hopefully it will stay out since many of the homes still have not been fixed since Charley. :sad2:

Where are you at John? I'm in St. Pete. We've had some rain here too, but so far, that's it. The wind hasn't really started yet either. Please, please, please, Dennis stay away from the west coast of FL.

You know , Linda, you have a good point. I don't think I can stand leaving the ship after only four days. It is just unnatural. Criminal. Intolerable. Lets handcuff ourselves to the deck 10 rails. We could then scrapbook!!! How do you get handcuffs into a scrapbook?
Bill PS,,, I signed the kids up for the "Wild Side". That is, the teen agers. Tell Jamie. But,,, if I can get Timmy and Sarah to start posting or emailing, don't tell them about it. They don't know. We are also tentatively scheduled to do the banana boat at 3:30 in the afternoon at Castaway Cay and they also don't know about that. Let her know in case she wants to join. I just don't think there are that many teens on the ship. Aloft may be a paradise for the ones that are there.

They have killer chili too... coming from someone who's ordered it at 2am ;)

Yes please stay away! I really don't need to have my parents being evacuated and coming to sleep at my place!!!

Wow it only took me a little more than an hour to catch up from last Saturday - you guys sure have been chatty!

Before we left for our trip we stopped by the PO and sent our paperwork in for passports. The lady at the PO said it usually takes 6 weeks, but they have been coming back in 3 weeks. It was the first day in months that dh and dd have been home at the same time during the hours that the PO processes passports, so we took a chance.

It's cool to see the on line reservations are opened - hope all of you that were having problems got them straightened out. It sounded very frustrating. This is our 4th Disney Cruise and we still haven't eaten at Palo - too worried we will miss out on something going on in the dining rooms. The brunch would be cool tho. Oh the decisions.

Welcome Todd! Cheryl, loved the picture of Dee Vee Cee! Her and Sara Toga were a lot of fun at the Member Homecoming - yes annoying, but that was what was so funny.

Time to go unpack some suitcases and get to bed - have to do an early morning fund raiser for my dd's travel soccer team! YEA US :cheer2:

Waiting for the next countdown :Pinkbounc

Gail - welcome home. Hope you had a great time.

Mary - sorry I didn't make chat. I zonked out at 8. Of course now it is midnight and I'm awake.

Nice to see that FL is getting spared a direct hit. Here's hoping that Dennis loses a lot of punch before it hits anywhere.

Thanks Todd for the killer chilli info.....I luv Chilli, but I'm not sure I'd be eating it at 2 A.M.

Chili sounds good to me.

Like that picture (avatar) on your post, Grumpy-1.

Room service is a nice option. We did it on Castaway Cay day on the 12/18. It was overcast and cool that day. The water was closed and our excursion cancelled. We just relaxed, did our packing and ordered room service lunch.

Attention first time cruisers! One of my tips that I sent to Passporter was accepted for publication and I got a free copy of the third edition. Funny thing is I got two copies of the third edition. So I'd like to offer one of the copies free to a first time cruiser.

If you are interested post here and I will put your name in a drawing. Entries will be accepted until 3 pm Central Sunday afternoon (which should give just about everyone a chance to check the thread). I'll put the names in a hat and Mark will pick the winner. Then I'll pm you for your address and it will be on its way on Monday.

The Passporter is a great book to prepare for a Disney cruise and I hope to help one of you with your plans. If no one is interested I'll post this offer tomorrow afternoon on our May thread but thought we would give our DVC neighbors first crack at it.

WOW -- how cool is that to have your tip accepted. What was your tip? Do you mind sharing it with us (like it hasn't been shared with the world yet? ).

We'd be interesting in a chance in your drawing. I feel so lost still planning this cruise. I could use the help. ;) Thanks.
