Mary: Do you think we'll be able to have a pic of all of us on the beach or possibly in the Atrium of our group??

Do you think DVC will make a pic of everyone, like the one you posted -- this time?

I posted this on the picture of the day thread but since it was from the last Member Cruise thought I would post it over here as well.

What a great day! For those of you asking about number of children on the cruise. The kids are in yellow shirts - the adults in blue.

I'm sure the kids are going to have a great time. Not very many of them on the 1st cruise. I'm wondering since it's right after school starts (at least for us) if there will be even less? Not that it really matters, I'm sure there is enough room for everyone.

Wow - everyone's been very busy here - guess the excitement is very catchy! Great ideas on the door signs and really nice to see some new faces on the gallery! Great work - I really look forward to checking in when I can.

I'm getting ready for yet another road trip and will be gone for most of July but I will surely check in when I can.

I'm going to visit relatives along the east coast and then down to Florida for a nephew's wedding and then, of course, I have to make a stop to see my favorite mouse!!!

We did this for Cruisetoberfest II in October 2003. Actually, I think that one member made magnets for everyone on our DIS group, and put them on everyone's door. So, it was easy to see where everyone was, all over the ship.

From what I remember on the 10 day in order to get a photographer for our group picture it had to be arranged in advance and a fee paid. Not sure if that is the case on all cruises.

As for the large DVC picture - I sure hope so. It was a lot of fun after the fact picking eveyone out.

Cindy - I think we might have more kids on this Member Cruise than the last just judging by the number of DIS'ers brining their kids. I dont think however that we'll have as many kids as say a regular summer cruise or the 10 day we were on over Christmas (lots of kids on that one). There is plenty of room. Even on the Christmas cruise we didn't feel crowded. On the last Member Cruise it almost felt empty at times (which is not a bad thing).

I'm sure the kids will all have a blast in the club and the lab.

I agree - the more the merrier.

I would suggest that if anyone is using word to personalize it that you do the names in WordArt - that way you won't get a text box, but you can have white names in the green circle if you want.

We may try and do a pirate one as well. Someone on the 10 day made a very cute magnet that had a pirate bear on it and put it on our room that day!


We also had smaller ones that ohiominnie passed out on peoples doors that said "Merry Christmas" and "Disboarders live here".

Very fun indeed.

If I have a sample I can pull something off, but to come up with something on my own I get overwhelmed and end up not doing it. I really want to do a magnet (or two), they look so cool.

You'll find that the door magnets really help finding your room as well. Since all the base doors look the same if you aren't awake you could easily walk past your door once or twice. With the magnet it catches your eye!

You don't have to be overly creative as well. You know the old saying "less is more" a wise person told me that one.

I just took the button design that Mark had (which he used the SS Member Cruise logo to make). I added our DIS names and our DVC homes (Boardwalk, Vero and of course the DISboards).

Other good choices are to use the mickey heads from Home Depot and put a name on each one. There is a great thread on the main cruise board about door signs that gives other ideas as well.

Thats what these threads are all about - helping each other have a great time.

Lot's of great ideas on that thread. Andy (aka VerandahMan) has always been a great resource for door signs as well. He's created some real nice ones.
