OK guys, start saying your prayers. There is a tropical depression out in the caribbean. It should be gone by our cruise, but lets just hope that it doesn't strengthen too much (so CC is safe) and that no more start (at least not until after Sept 10th or 11th, when most of us should be heading home).

I saw this on the news this morning. :earseek: Katrina we don't want you! Go away!!

I haven't been able to keep up with the fluff on this thread at all! My sister has been a little more work than I imagine. I thought she's help with the girls, but it seems like I have to keep an even closer eye on them for some reason. And I've been thanking God every day my girls aren't 12 yet! :rotfl:

On top of it all, I'm trying to get things ready for the pary :faint:

I'll be back full time saturday night, then look out, you guys won't be able to shut me up! :rotfl2:

We have ReplayTV, not Tivo. What I like about the Replay is that unlike Tivo it won't record thing automatically for you -

You can turn that feature off on Tivo. I hated that too. Thought it was kinda creepy that they'd pick shows they thought I'd like. Found out you could turn it off and now it doesn't record anything unless I tell it to! :)

I also heard this last night. Amy, I hope for the good of all the hurricane states, this loses strength.

My favoriye Disney movie? Thats a no brainer for me.....It is the first movie In ever saw. My mother took me to the theater to see it when I was a very little boy. "Song of the South". I have several copies of it on VHS tape, thanks to Stitch#1

Congratulations to all the cruisers who will be celebrating anniversarys on this trip. On August 3rd DW and I celebrated out 37th, and we plan on continuing the celebration on the cruise.

I love Song of the South! Never saw it as a kid though. Rode Splash Mountain for the first time and dh wanted to know how I liked it. I said "oh, it was good. Cute animals, good music, fun drop." He said "dont' you know the story????" NO! So he told me, and Splash Mountain became infinitely better!

We got a DVD copy off of the internet but it was stolen when someone broke into our van. Ds was distraught so that night I had to figure out where I had bought it from and had to buy another!

If you have a family that makes it own smells you might want to bring an air freshner for the bathroom.

Very nicely put, Mary! :)

Last call for the mini-navigator! Here is the list I have. If you are on it and don't want to be I need to know TODAY! If you are not on it and want to be I need to know TODAY!

Final cut-off is 6 pm Eastern - 5 pm Central time. I will finalize the format of the inside on the navigator tonight, make a pdf of it tomorrow and will have the navigator up on the web site tomorrow night.

Lisa - if you want to give me any final on the room tour please do so today as well.

Thanks everyone!

The true credit for this TOP goes to Mary! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Today I am having a Surprise BD party for DS, TJ who is 9.

He asked me the other day if he could have a party. I told him"We'll see". When it was all already planned! Meanwhile I have to figure out how to get me there without him and then get him to the Laser Tag place! So what am I doing here?

Noreen, how was the party? Was TJ surprised? :teeth:

Did you pull it off? :cheer2: :cheer2:

Grandma Lightbulb
Glad to see she's on there!!! :)

Ya know what...I'll bet she has NO idea about door magnets. We haven't made ours yet....we'd better get busy and make some for her too!!

Do you have any pets? Currently 3 cats. One indoor...a kitten named Mowana that we rescued from church camp. Two outdoor...Dingle who got kicked out of the house 5 yrs ago for bad behavior and "he who is yet to be named" because he's a stray who's hanging around but it's looking like he'll be ours.

What was the last book you read? Currently reading "A Woman After God's Own Heart." Just finished "Redemption" by Karen Kingsbury.

Do you like to cook? It's not too bad. I hate PLANNING what to cook. Don't really care SHOPPING for it. But once that is done, I don't mind cooking.

Are you good at cooking/swimming/etc? I'm not a gourmet cook, but I make lots of old favorites (beef stew, chicken paprikash, homemade chicken noodle soup, etc etc) I'm also good at cross stitch. Good at taking care of my family....most days! :)

Have you ever met a famous person? I met the stunt double for Magnum PI...does that count? My dad taught him in high school and when we went to HI, he showed us around. Showed us the house they film the outside stuff in. Showed us Tom Selleck's house. etc etc.

What are your hobbies? reading. cross stitch. scrapbooking. Hmmm, no wonder I can't lose weight....they are all sedentary activities. ;)

What countries have you visited? Spain, France, the Bahamas, St. Lucia, St. Maarten (are these countries?) oh, and Michigan (dd insists it shouldn't be part of the US--GO BUCKS!)

Are you a 'morning' or 'night' person? morning. definitely. irritated my college roomies to death!

Which do you prefer, sunrises or sunsets? sunsets.

How many times did you move as a child? never. my parents STILL live in the house I grew up in.

Are you a task oriented person or a people oriented person? task oriented---i love to check things off a list....but i am easily distracted from that list by people who need something, so i guess i'm both!

If anyone is interested, I found this about the tropical storm:

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/lo...ug24,0,7463430.story?coll=sfla-home-headlines

Sending my best for all those possibly affected. Stay Safe! :goodvibes :goodvibes

Just a what-if's but since this is out there (and hopefully won't become Katrina :goodvibes ) what happens if there is a storm predicted before we sail? I know with technology that we won't be out there and surprised by anything. Would it mean we would sail away from the dangerous areas until it was safe? Even if predicted, will the ship still sail? Just curious.

See, Mary, I can be a worry wart too! :)

Do you have any pets?
We have 1 cat named Bubbie. We got him from the SPCA as a kitten and we named him Tiger, because he looked like a tiger. Then, within 24 hours, we changed it to Tigger, because he was bouncing all over the place. But, Chris started calling him Bubbie, and it just stuck.
What was the last book you read?
Toy Story - to Emily last night as a bed time story. I haven't had time to read for myself since I had kids.
Do you like to cook?
I love to cook. I'm ok, but definitely not fancy.
Are you good at cooking/swimming/etc?
I think that I'm pretty good at cooking. I can swim, but it's not my favorite, I'd rather lounge in the pool.
Have you ever met a famous person?
When I was volunteering at the Super Bowl a few years ago, I got to meet and talk to several of the Tampa Bay Buccanneers.
What are your hobbies?
Scrapbooking & Disney
What countries have you visited?
Mexico, Canada, Jamaica, Bahamas, Grand Cayman
Are you a 'morning' or 'night' person?
Depends, but mostly a morning person. It's hard to get up, but once I have my shower, I'm good to go.
Which do you prefer, sunrises or sunsets?
I like them both, but I think my favorite is sunsets. I was married at sunset on the beach, so it's just a beautiful scene to me.
How many times did you move as a child?
All the time. My mom was married & divorced 3 times, so we moved a lot. That's why, I told Chris that once the girls start school, we are NOT moving. I had to do it too many times.
Are you a task oriented person or a people oriented person?
I would probably say Task-oriented, since I'm shy. I love people, but until I get to know them, I don't say much.

Do you have any pets? Have had many over the years, now just have fish.

What was the last book you read? Year's Best Fantasy 5, have a library of easily over 600 books.

Do you like to cook? Daily, no. Once in a while I will produce something creative.

Are you good at cooking/swimming/etc? What I'm good at? Seeing how things fit together. That winds up extending to other things, like cooking.

Have you ever met a famous person? Not anything memorable, some autograph sessions with Nascar drivers, but don't think of that as 'meeting' one.

What are your hobbies? Gardening, hot rodding, scale models, media collecting.

What countries have you visited? Canada. For all of 10 minutes, drove across the Macinac bridge, turned around and came back. Was a very enriching visit. That's excluding DCL ports, btw.

Are you a 'morning' or 'night' person? Night, can shift to morning when I have to but it's always an effort for any real length of time.

Which do you prefer, sunrises or sunsets? Sunset.

How many times did you move as a child? Once and so early on that I honestly don't remember it, bascially grew up in one house.

Are you a task oriented person or a people oriented person? Task oriented, when I get focused on a job it is sometimes to the exclusion of all else.

Morning, I've been so busy I have no idea where to even begin to catch up on what is going on here.
:dog2:
Oh soon, I won't be worrying about it and we will be there!

Do you have any pets?
Not currently. But grew up with many... dogs... cats. Had my first dog when I moved into my first house... Mopsey, what a JOY! Sadly she had kidney failure when she was 7. It was a tough loss for me.

What was the last book you read?
I mainly read magazines... Good Housekeeping, Woman's Day, etc. I really need to pull up a good book and get immersed in it. THere never seems to be any time.

Do you like to cook? I love it, but again, due to work, we go out to eat a lot.

Are you good at cooking/swimming/etc? Many years back I sang a lot, "special music" in churches, worship leading. I loved doing this, but have let it go over the past 10 years.

Have you ever met a famous person? I met Shirley Dobson of Focus on the Family, and at the Dove Awards, met Sandi Patti, and Steve Green.

What are your hobbies? planning parties and special events, searching for antiques (ruby souvenier glass, and Coca-Cola items) AND visiting WDW AND taking DISNEY CRUISES! :goodvibes

What countries have you visited?
Bahamas, Mexico, Denmark, Sweeden, Norway. I hope to visit the Mediterranean once DCL announces their 2007 itinerary!

Are you a 'morning' or 'night' person?
Morning... all the way!

Which do you prefer, sunrises or sunsets?
I love watching sunsets and reflecting on the day.

How many times did you move as a child?
Never. My parents STILL live in the house I grew up in. I have since bought my grandmothers house, which is just up the lane from my parents.

Are you a task oriented person or a people oriented person?
Both. I am a list person, but the lists usually include doing things for others, so I guess I am driven by both! I'm definitely a Type A personality.

GET READY GUYS... our countdown is SO CLOSE! :hourglass

Do you have any pets? A canary growing up - now we have fish

What was the last book you read? Harry Potter and the half-blood prince

Do you like to cook? I like to bake more than cook but yes. Wish I had more time for it.

Are you good at cooking/swimming/etc? I think I'm fairly good at scrapping

Have you ever met a famous person? I would say the two famous people I got to meet and actually spend time with are Terry Nation (known as the creator of Blake's7 and the Dalaks from Dr. Who) and Grace Lee Whitney (Yoeman Rand on the original Star Trek).

What are your hobbies? Scrapbooking and the DIS :)

What countries have you visited? England, Canada, Mexico, Bahamas, USVI, St. Martin, St. Lucia, Antiqua, Grand Cayman

Are you a 'morning' or 'night' person? Morning!

Which do you prefer, sunrises or sunsets? Sunrise - the dawn of a new day and a fresh start

How many times did you move as a child? Only once at 5 years old. From Chicago to Oak Park.

Are you a task oriented person or a people oriented person? When stressed more task oriented. When not stressed more people oriented
