If I had a million dollars that I had to spend I think I'd start with a home in Florida. One with a pool and a pool house for guests.

Then since I finally had my Florida home a new VW Beattle convertible.

Oh my, there for a minute I thought the Scubas were here on this thread!!! ;)

On another note, I stopped by Hallmark to buy a card on my way home and found some great Disney Christmas ornaments. They have a Tinker Bell in a copper lantern and when you push the button, a light comes on and she spins. SOOO CUTE! Will have to get that one for sure. Also saw one with Mickey and Minnie watching WDW Wonderful World of Color on TV and the TV had fireworks actually going off!! That one will have to be in my stocking also.

I love the one of them watching tv. There was another one I liked and it was M/M at the Malt Shop. It might not be new for this year but they had it at our Hallmark Store. They are really cute.

I would love their house. Perfect size for us and I adore their pool!

Even my d/c kids aren't that bad. If I ever had one treat me the way some of the Super Nanny kids treat their parents, they would be sitting on the front step that night, bags packed, waiting for their parents to arrive to take them on their final ride away from my house. Bye-bye!

My sister runs a home daycare and would do the same thing. I haven't ever seen her "kids" act even remotely like the ones on that show.

I just don't understand why some parents allow that. :confused3

John has a cousin with 3 kids and they definitely need Super Nanny's help! Her kids are so out of control that no one in their neighborhood will play with them - she just thinks the neighbors are snobs! My kids can't stand to be around these 3 - it is really sad. The kids are the ones who lose in the end.

Went shopping at Kohl's tonight and had to talk myself out of th DIS lime green luggage. It was a good sale 5pcs at $49 and I had a 20% off coupon. My ds convinced me I already had enough suitcases for two families and I shouldn't buy them just because they were green.

I did buy dh a lime green from work today. They were having a logo apparel sale and I told dh if he wore that shirt I would be able to find him in the crowd.

Still haven't got my signs made anyone posting their's so we can get an early peek.

I'll answer two of the questions here.

First we'll be celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary. It will be October 27th of this year. We were going to book the October 22nd 7 day cruise so we would be on it for our anniversary but decided not to when we heard about this cruise and the chance to cruise with all our DVC friends. Now we may be celebrating it but I didn't tell DCL about it. We're not into making a fuss. :) Plus with it not being our actual anniversary I felt a little wierd about it.

Gail - Mark says your plan of he and John going for the car is a good one. They can decide who wants to drive and who wants to navigate. We'll just have fun!

John will probably want Mark to drive so he can play with any buttons or knobs or anything else that might be new on the cart. Did I ever tell you he has a very short attention span? :rotfl2: We have a dd 11 that is exactly like him - and somedays (actually most days) the two of them make me

Oh my goodness. I just has to read thru 12 pages of posts.
You guys are killing me. :faint:
I'm going to have to take time off of work just to keep up on the posts! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Ok to answer th questions of the day.

Disney Movies: That's a tough one since I love them all, but if I had to narrow it down to 3 i'll pick
1. Sleeping Beauty - I just love Briar Rose and Maleficent is my fave!! :maleficen
2. Finding Nemo - How could you not love that movie
3. Lilo & Stitch - Yes I cried!!

If I had all that money??????
Visit every Disney Park and take along a few family & friends.
Have a house built just the way I want.
Pay off any debts my family member have and give them all a little chunk of change!

God I can't stand the suspense, I'm bursting at the seams just waiting to get on the ship.
This is going to be an awesome first cruise!!! :cheer2: :cloud9: :cheer2:

Now... about these DVR's, who has one but doesn't have a Tivo, what is it? I want to get one, but all I really want is one that works just like a vcr, no subscription service, no phone lines and grids, just basic vcr type controls is all I really want. I wear out tapes regularly just taping prgrams.

We have the Dish Network DVR but I think that we pay $2 or $3 extra per month for it. We also have a recordable DVD player. Maybe that would work for you. I like it to record our home movies to DVD.

pirate: I was at Party City tonight and found boys pirate costumes for $5! So if you need one for your DS then you may want to check there. They also had a few girl pirate costumes and they were $15. Of course they didn't have the size I was looking for my DD(7). I'm still trying to work on these dang costumes but I'm running out of time!

I did however finally find my DD birth certificate so I will not be needing to get her a new one! I also found 1 of our 3 santa hats. Not sure why all 3 wouldn't have been in the same box of Christmas stuff. :confused3

OK guys, start saying your prayers. There is a tropical depression out in the caribbean. It should be gone by our cruise, but lets just hope that it doesn't strengthen too much (so CC is safe) and that no more start (at least not until after Sept 10th or 11th, when most of us should be heading home).

OMG!!! this might not be good. I'm starting on my prayers now. Of course, the storm could come up the Atlantic Coast between our ship and the coast, bothering nothing, yet making it impossible for us to make Cape Canaveral before oh... 9/15 or so... :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Gail, DBF and I will be celebrating our graduate school graduation (I've mentioned this before so sorry for the repetition). I'd love to do the cake, but DBF is not one for the attention to be on him. He freaked when we were at Whispering Canyon the week before his birthday...my mom told our waitress and that was the end of him. The pictures are hilarious but I also felt kinda bad. I wouldn't want to do that w/ a table of strangers so I'll refrain. Can I get it on Palo night maybe?

How many poker fans/players do we have in this group?

Do you think a game could be set-up to coincide w/ the scrapbook class... for our sig. others who won't be scrapping?

Amy - still interested in the cart.

Sorry I am way behind - had a mini crisis when my dad missed his flight.

It is in celebration of our 35th Wedding Anniversary (8/29) and we are so looking forward to it. Have tried to get reservations to Palo and massages but were not successful when calling. .

:grouphug: Congratulations on 35 years! My DH and I just celebrated our 32nd on 8/18 ! We are already planning a cruise for our 35th!!! Hope to meet you on board, even though we aren't from Philly....just Orlando

We have ReplayTV, not Tivo. What I like about the Replay is that unlike Tivo it won't record thing automatically for you - say you like Fess Parker, it won't automatically record everything he's ever done. You can set it up to do your favorite shows just like Tivo and skip, pause, rewind, etc. We've had ours for 2 years now.

If I had a million dollars - help out family, donate to favorite charities, go to WDW or DCL cruise every year (with whatever family wanted to tag along), set my hubby up in a business he would like or he could just retire early, probably move to a little bigger home and buy a mini-cooper!

Kristi

PS - Lisa, I love Monk, too!

I Love to watch Monk! It's one of my not to be missed shows! And I HAVE to watch House! That one is really good! We have a DVR from the cable company so Patrick can record ALL the episodes of Mr Rogers every week!

I think having these conversations will make the cruise even better. Tonight we went to the DVC Block Party at PI. It was fun, it was so cute watching the little kids dancing the hokey pokey with the DJ! We didn't win anything......... Connie

Amy,

I've been thinking the same thing all day. There are actual two spots. One is already a tropical depression due to make landfall in southern Florida this weekend. The second is a system much further out that could turn into a tropical depression. Here's praying neither one turns into much, stays away from Florida and our cruise!

My favoriye Disney movie? Thats a no brainer for me.....It is the first movie In ever saw. My mother took me to the theater to see it when I was a very little boy. "Song of the South". I have several copies of it on VHS tape, thanks to Stitch#1

Congratulations to all the cruisers who will be celebrating anniversarys on this trip. On August 3rd DW and I celebrated out 37th, and we plan on continuing the celebration on the cruise.

Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Tip Of The Day

Today we have some little hints that can improve your stateroom life. Some of which have been covered in discussion - some not.

  1. Bring an over the door shoe hanger - you can use it for shoes, but also for the little things you need like suntan lotion, sun glasses, etc.
  2. If you need to use a curling iron or blow dryer you might want to bring an extension cord as the outlets are not in the best place on the desk for using one.
  3. If you want a little privacy from the kids bring a few clothes pins to keep the privacy curtain closed.
  4. If you have connecting rooms ask your room steward for the small blocks of wood they use to keep the doors open. The block goes in the upper part of the door by the closer and keeps it open. Easy to remove if you want to close them at night.
  5. If you get a sewer smell in your bathroom it is easy to cure yourself by pouring a cup or two of water down the drain behind the toilet (we've never experienced it but have read about the smell on the DIS).
  6. If you have a family that makes it own smells you might want to bring an air freshner for the bathroom.
  7. After you unpack it is easy to store you luggage out of sight under your bed. If you lift the corner of the bed half of it will come up easily to slide the luggage up.
  8. Post-it notes or a small wipe board inside the cabin helps you keep track of other family members.
Hope these help!
