Anyone travel thru Pearson recently?

My son is flying through Pearson on his way to Cancun on a Saturday afternoon this month with Air Canada (coming from Ottawa). The airline has given them a 1.5hr connection. I assume they don't have to do any customs clearance in Toronto. Is that going to be enough time to comfortably make the connection?

I usually allow myself 2-2.5 hours to connect in Toronto as I'm usually clearing customs to the US.
Yeah, he doesn't have to go thru US customs at Pearson so he'll breeze through, provided his flight from YOW lands on time. Customs in Cancun tho, but it's quick from the couple of experiences I had.

Have a trip coming up - In and out of Pearson in mid September

How's the foot traffic nowadays?
Immigration area to the US very busy? Haven't been in a while, not since the new Mr T administration and all the tariff stuff.
Are lines really long? Are officers more strict/inquisitive with this new administration ?

Last time I went thru immigration in Pearson was Sept'24 and it was an absolute zoo. Almost 2 hours line in immigration.
Hope it's better now with all these claims of 'boycotts'

Any feedback is appreciated - TIA
We did trip to Seattle and returned September 2, very easy to get through customs, both ways not much traffic.
