Did anyone see Unwrapped the other night on the Food Network?

They did a segment on Key Lime Pie and showed a place that makes the original in Key West. It's the Blonde Giraffe and now on our list of stops. All of us agreed, we'll have to try a piece. They have a website if anyone cares to check it out -- www.blondgiraffe.com

Walker wants the little one in the triangle box. :teeth: I'm sure Gary wants the big on in the bigger box. :earseek:

Thanks! Joe + I love key lime pie... we'll have to write this one down. Maybe we should assign numbers now in case there's a line! :rotfl2:

I did see that episode of unwrapped!!! I was thinking the same thing. Maybe we need to try that when we're there in a few weeks. Another Twilight Zone moment!!

OK, which Unwrapped was it. I'm trying to find the episode on food network.com to see when it will air again, because you KNOW it will air again, and I don't see anything! What else was on that episode?

My DVC story... In 1997 we went to WDW and stayed at the all stars. It was only my DH and myself. We left DD age 2 home with Grammy. We kept seeing all those DVC booths, and saying that we had to see what it is all about. We are park commandos and didn't have time to take a tour. In 1999 we went back to all star sports again, this time with our 2 DD's. Again said we should look into it. When we got home we called and looked over the package. We decided against it, because we were happy with the all star resorts. For a family of 4 the all star resorts worked for us. My cousin got married in WDW in 2003, and we stayed at the YC, we got a really good discount. This time we are a family of 5, and need a lot more space. Still the commando family that we are, we didn't have time for the tour. The week we got back we called DVC and bought 150 at the BC. We try to go to WDW everyother year and thought 150 would work well for us. Except now we are planning more trips, than we had thought we would. We are now thinking of an add on.

I have docs. Woo Hoo!!!

Todd's name is wrong and I'm still listed as second seating

Our whole family (13 of us) trekked over there when we stopped in Key West on the 10 day Christmas Cruise because I had heard about the BEST KEY LIME PIE.

Well, needless to say......bought two key lime pies, and then went outside with plates, forks, and napkins (which they provided) and sat out on their little patio and devoured two key lime pies in less than 10 minutes.

It was well worth the walk!

(I just wish I had bought a third to bring back to the ship!)

Linda  (sorry, no dancing key limes, the closest I could get is a banana) :rotfl2:

OK--so now I NEED to go there! Dumb question- are all these places going to be open seeing as we are in Key West on Labor Day??

I'll be sitting outside waiting for the UPS guy..... :rolleyes1

The UPS man was here! The UPS man was here!

Unfortunately no docs...just my QVC TSV! :)

At least I know he knows where I live. Hopefully our documents will come tomorrow!

Well it did come a gully washer, I got home, there was a fed ex envelope on my front step. It was soaked. It was NOT my docs (thank you). It was my Megical Express tickets. They will dry.

Besides, I am still trying to decided if I just want to rent a car for the whole stay. It is about the same price as renting one for the cruise trip, plus we will be on our schedule, not theirs.

Now if the Fed EX dude will just make it up from Knoxville, I can have mine today.

The UPS man was here too...unfortuneately...no doc's yet...just a QVC box for Lisa. (I think we should own stock in QVC :rotfl2: ) Maybe tomorow!! :earsboy:

Hi All,

I've been quiet for a few days, because I didn't want to know what was in the document packages. I was told that it's been quiet though, so it's safe to come back out ;).

Couple of quick comments:

Robin - sorry to hear about your accident, but glad that you're okay.

cquick - thanks for offering your room! I sent you a PM

I love Key Lime pie!

I can't believe how close we're getting to the cruise.

If you have a Kohl's near you, I picked up a 12 PC Beach Combo on clearance for $3.50. It includes: sandbucket/castle mold, sand shovel, sand tools, magic mitts (ball w/ velcro catching disks), frisbee, water football, kickboard and storage tote bag (fine mesh). I figured for that price, they can use it on Castaway Cay, and leave it behind.

I have a couple of other things to post, but I'll do it seperately.

Lisa

I'm dying to know how you guys like the TSV from QVC. I saw it for a second on TV and it looked really cute.

Since no one else is getting docs today, I probably won't be getting mine!

Now I need to get the girls up and go to Kohls! I was planning on just bringing a shovel and rake, because Emma is just into moving the sand around and I'll just leave them there. But that's a good deal, and the kids that come over here are always complaining I don't have "good" sand toys! :rotfl:
