Emily is the same way. Sometimes I don't fight with her, if we're not going out of the house. But YIKES, some of the stuff she puts together.

Hey, at least Walker and Emily want to wear clothes! These past few weeks Emma will ONLY wear her bathing suit. She wakes up at 6 am going "suit" "suit" "suit". She begs to get dressed and if I even dream about pulling shorts and a t-shirt out for her...it's a big giant fit for the suit. :confused3 I'm really hoping she outgrows this phase by winter, because i'm going to have the child welfare people at my house wondering why a 2 year old is wearing a bathing suit in a blizzard!

I'm reviewing my to do list and one thing I was told by DVC staff the day of booking was that we should wait to change our seating at the terminal? It seems that for some reason, we could not get both our dining and our best friends dining at the same seating time. As a previous Disney Cruiser, we found that a little strange, but understanding that everyone was probably pretty stressed that day, I didn't press the issue. Believe me not sitting together would be a really less than magical experiendce since we talked them into this trip....
So, should I call now to try to fix or wait till arrival at the terminal?

Thanks in advance for any advice. Also Mark and Mary you 2 are the best! The info you've shared has been terrific. pirate:

Cyndy, Take both of your reservation numbers and call DCL directly today. Make sure that the reservations are linked and give them your preference of dining. Give them what your preference is and they should be able to work with you. Then when you are at the port and veryify dining if there is a problem go and take care of it on board.

Today's fluffy question of the day.......

If I have a chance to ask Jim Lewis a question while on board, I will ask him.................

I'm not good at asking questions so I'm not sure. What I would say to him if I ran into him was to thank him and the entire DVC staff for this great event.

In fact that is something I encourage everyone to do. When you see the DVC staff on board please take a minute and thank them. They have been working very long and hard hours to make all this happen for us.

This question came up a couple of months ago, when they asked us to submit questions for Jim Lewis. I'm too lazy to go back and look up the answers people gave, but my question (and I DID submit it) was about whether or not they were planning to make the new dining program available to DVC members.

Linda...

Want to make sure you get Grandma Lightbulb on your scrapbooking list....

I know today is the deadline and I hadn't heard anything or seen an updated list.

Thanks for doing this!!!!!

Funny story that came up in chat last night:

DH is in the Army. We've had a Navy Goat hanging (literally) in our house for years now. At some point, I mentioned this to Cindy (cgcw), but never had a chance to explain the story behind it. It would come up in passing every once in a while in conversation (come on, you've never had the topic of a hanging goat just come up in your conversations???)

Well, last night as we were in chat, Cindy happened to remind me that she didn't know the story behind the hanging goat, so I decided to tell it to her. Here is the (somewhat boring) story:

While dh was going through the Navy Test Pilot School, I was teaching the fourth grade at a private school. Many of my students had parents in the Navy. Since we are an Army family, this was a new experience for us. When the time came for the Army-Navy football game, there was a lot of light-hearted rivalry going back and forth. As part of this, I told my students that if they cheered for the Army during the football game in their homes, and Army won the game, I would cancel all homework assignments for a week.

Some of my students actually cheered for Army, much to their dads dismay! But one of my students, Lance was a diehard Navy fan. We would tease back and forth for the rest of the year about which was better. At the end of the year, I received traditional end of the year gifts from my class (this was actually a great class... I received a handmade quilt, full of hand-drawn pictures from all of my students). As I opened the box from Lance, I discovered a Navy goat (think Beanie Baby size). We started laughing, since the entire class thought this was hysterical. As I went to throw away the twine that Lance's mom had tied around the box, the loop that I hadn't untied went around the goat's neck and picked it up (it wasn't on purpose, I promise!!!). As I sat there with the hanging goat, I told Lance, "Thanks for giving me what I've always wanted! The Navy Goat in a noose!!"

We moved to a new house that summer, and when I was unpacking, I absent-mindedly threw the noosed goat over a hinge on the back door. I took a picture of the hanging goat, and sent it back to my old students for them to see. They loved it. My own kids thought it was so funny, that the goat never came down, and when we moved into our current house, ds demanded that I hang the goat back up.

That's the whole story. Well the funny part is that after I tell the story, Cindy tells me that the entire time we've talked about the goat in the past, she and her son Cameron have been picturing a FULL-SIZED goat hanging in our house!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Now this brings up a couple of questions:

1. Where in the world would you hang up a full-sized goat in your house?

2. Why would Cindy EVER let her child communicate with freaks who hung up a full-sized goat in their house??? (We all know that hanging up a Beanie Baby sized goat is perfectly natural :rotfl2: )

Lisa I have a funny Navy goat story regarding my mom. I used to be a MAJOR Notre Dame fan (both football and basketball). Many many years ago my mom and I were on vacation out in California and went to Knotts Berry Farm. We are looking around the gift shop and my mom came running up to me with this toy goat (bigger than a beanie baby - think normal teddy bear size) with the blue blanket and the N on it. She's got a big smile on her face and says "I'm going to get this for you". I look at her and say "why would I want a Navy goat?". The smile goes away and she says "Navy? I thought the N stood for Notre Dame!"

Poor mom. I never let her live that one down!

Now Lisa to answer your questions.

1) I really don't know

2) Because this is the Member Cruise and we don't discriminate against anyone - not even people who hang up life size goats! :rotfl2:

When I got out of chat last night, I innocently asked Cameron what size he thought the goat in your house was. He looked at me and said "like a regular goat". :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: OMG, I laughed again so hard I had tears in my eyes.

Yes, Lisa, I did imagine a FULL SIZE goat. A lot of people have taxidermied animals in their homes......I just thought yours was one of them. :rotfl:

Gary grew up on a small farm having cows as pets. As strange as that is, I'm sure there is someone out there who has a taxidermied goat!! :rotfl:

This is for you................ :earboy2:

Lisa - don't ever apologize for spending time with family! It is nice to see you posting today and I hope that you come back later and tell us all about the rocket launch! We're science geeks too!

Mary,

I wasn't really feeling bad about spending family time... just teasing someone a little!! :rotfl:

We had a great time at the Space and Rocket Center. It was CROWDED though, because they ended up with way more families than they expected ( I think it was around 500), so they had to break people up into groups.

We built our rocket inside Astrolab, which is one of the buildings used for Space Camp. Then we took our rocket over to the launch pads. It was so hot out there. I think it was around 93 yesterday. There was some technical difficulty on some of the launches (rockets imploding at lift off, misfiring engines, etc...), but Sam was proud that his rocket flew high and straight. We were lucky enough to retrieve the rocket afterward, and Sam added it to his rocket collection at home.

We then did build-your-own banana splits (yummy!) and were eligible to see a free IMAX movie. We thought about seeing the IMAX, but decided to leave and hit the local movie theater to watch Disney's Sky High (great movie!). We picked up Chinese on the way home, and finished dinner in time for me to make (most of) chat last night!

Silly, woman, from the noose you told me it was attached to!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

OMG!!!! You really must have thought we are whacked!!! I'm now picturing a full-sized, taxidermied goat, hanging from a rope in someone's living room. What, maybe it hangs in the middle of the chandelier for that "natural back-to-nature" look???? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Like I said last night....you guys are crazy!

I'm sitting here laughing, and the girls are looking at me like OK, mom has finally lost it! :rotfl:

Yep, the rustic look! :rotfl:

And, just not someone's living room --- YOUR living room. :rotfl: :rotfl:

So Mary, did she ever try to cover up her faux pas by sending you a fighting leprechaun sitting on goat???? :rotfl:

Okay Diana, but if you thought the goat hanging in my house was a full-sized taxidermied goat, would you let me hang out with your girls???? :rotfl:

UH--no, definitely not! :rotfl: I probably would have canceled the cruise to stay away from the crazy goat family!

We're heading out the the zoo is a little while. Don't worry, Lisa, we'll stay away from the children's zoo. Guess what they have there? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Lisa, there are some really STRANGE people around. When we first moved into our house, Gary's out cleaning the garage and comes across a deer leg -- tucked nice and neat underneath the work bench.

So, I go off to work and tell the story. A couple of they guys I worked with were in a discussion as to which one of them wanted that deer leg. They were getting a bit heated as to why they needed it. As it turned out, one of the guys convinced the other he needed it more. So, he took it to become a Christmas gift for his future-FIL. I'm tellings you......strange. :teeth:

And, to answer your question, does Sam really have a choice in how YOU decorate your home?? :rotfl:

Whew!!! Thank goodness we're a normal family with just a beanie baby goat hanging up then! :earboy2:
