Phone cards seem to be a hit with the international crew (think your servers and room steward) so they can call home. WalMart cards seem to be a hit with the American/Canadian crew (think the kids counselors) so they can buy music and toiletries.

We got the 60 minute pre-paid phone cards at that $100 store I seem to visit every weekend!!!

Linda

(P.S.................that would be Sam's Club!!!)

Important things to look for in a phone card:

It must be for international calling. Otherwise it won't do much of the crew very good.

Also the minutes listed on the front are for US minutes. The number for international is much lower than that.

I dug this up because it's been on my mind too. Just another one of those things I have to take care of before the cruise (3 weeks from today about this time we'll be boarding our plane :teeth: ).

3 week from today we'll be eating at Breakfastasauras! We have a 8am ADR, what the heck was I thinking!! :faint:

3 weeks from today is what I'm calling our DCL past, present and future day.

We start the day meeting a friend from the Dec. '04 cruise and riding Soarin' together. Then at noon we are meeting up with cruisers from our May '06 cruise for lunch and to pick up our cruise mascot. Last, but by no means least, we'll be meeting up with all the Member Cruisers who can make it to the Bon Voyage party!

Anyone seen Scott today? Heard about a nasty tornado in WY yesterday. I hope he and Lynn are ok!

He posted on the 11 night thread a little while ago, so I'm guessing he's ok!

That brings a question to mind...I know that tips are included as part of the member cruise, but I was figuring to tip a little extra. What do you feel is appropriate? As a first time cruiser I have no idea.

I think we are going to go with the Wal-Mart cards. We've done phone cards in the past and they have been well received. I've heard that more and more of the CM's have cell phones now and don't need the phone cards. I think either would be great or even extra cash. As to how much - that is really a personal preference.

Whwe! I'm glad i am not saying anything i shouldn't!!

I think I need to download something-like ichat but Iam comp. Illiterate.

Mark when I click on the link you have on the opening for chat I get URL not found. Maybe it is too old. I don't know. Some day-I'll chat, until now this will do!

hm. Only the old chat(ichat) required you install a plugin. All you should have to do with this one is click the link. That's why they switched to this one, it should be painless to join.

Ok, q&a time..

Yikes! ALL THIS TALK ABOUT THREE WEEKS IS STARTING TO FREAK ME OUT SO MUCH TO DO SO LITTLE TIME :hourglass My oldest son got layed off Thursday , so he is going to take 2 weeks vacation and hope his company has more jobs starting in the 2 weeks (he is a union fire sprinkler fitter) So he says to me Hey Mom what to go visit Uncle Keith for a few days with me and being that I love to go see my brother and how often does your 23yr old ask you to travel with him I said sure. :smooth: I have so much work to finish up before the cruise so I can have my guys out making money for me while I cruise and I have yet to start to gather cruise stuff never mind pack and we fly out of the 1st so it is really less than three weeks I AM SLIGHTLY FREAKED OUT No sleep for me just work and packing and putting things in order for the kids since they are staying home while we are in Fla for 11 days and now I am flying to SC for 6 days YIKES I will be the person napping on the lounges by the adult pool. Now I need to pack for 2 trips oh well such a life I lead :charac2:

:flower: Good morning gang!!! :flower:

Does anyone have there tv on QVC?
I got my TSV. That card/scrapbook kit.
Can't wait for them to deliver that box!

Ok,
The time for new button requests has expired!

At this point I will not be taking any new ones, I have some followups out there to address and tomorrow I will be making one last run of them then the machine gets put away.

The running total as of now is 200! Wow this group really went a lot further than in the past. Good for you! Now remember to wear them as much as possible and there will always be chances to meet up with others. :)

I'll start:

Internet provider:Insight Broadband

Browser and version:Safari v. 1.3

Operating system: Macintosh Panther

Popup blockers, virus/spyware protectors:I have Virex 7.5 for my anti virus software. Apple computers come with a pop up blocker software built in, so I use that. It never lets me open my PM's in a new window, but that's a minor inconvenience. No spyware protection to speak of....not as big a concern with Macs.

Good morning!!

I have my TV tuned in to QVC and I just bought the TSV too!!! It looks like a great kit and also a great deal.

That's cute.

3 weeks from today we'll be picking up Mike's brother from MCO. Then watching the Buckeye game at (probably) All Sports Cafe. Then to the Bon Voyage party!!

Operating system: (another shrug) Windows?
Any popup blockers, virus/spyware protection: most likely. couldn't tell you what they are!

can you tell I'm not the computer genius in the house?

Can anyone tell me what an onboard account is and how it works?

This has been on my mind. We had a problem the last couple of days trying to use our Chase Visa (not a Disney Chase Visa). A charge was trying to be applied to it. It should have gone through no problem but it was being denied. Gary and I spent many hours on the phone trying to get it fixed. They gave Gary two reasons -- one it was recently closed and reissued due to inactivity and that we had never activated the card. They could give us no reason as to how/why we were able to use it last month without a problem at Disney Hilton Head Resort. :confused3 Yet, even after they activated the card, the charge still wouldn't go through using the security code. Once that wasn't used, there was no problem. :confused3

In talking with Lisa, Hookdonwdw, she mentioned that this one time happened to them on vacation. If we had been on vacation and this was the only credit card we had with us and it didn't work, we would have really been upset -- even more than we were the last couple days.

So, I was thinking, could I put money in on onboard account so we could just draw off of that? Does it work that way? And, if there is anything left ( ), what happens to that? Is it refunded, credited towards a future cruise, or does it need to be spent.

Am I way off base on what I'm thinking this is? :confused3

I'm thinking you can do this. Either before hand (call DCL) or once you get to guest services. We've never done it so I can't give you specifics on how, who, what, etc etc....

I know you can apply money to OTHER peoples accounts too. On the 10 day we had to pay someone for a bottle of wine, and someone else for the group picture that Shutters did, and yet another for our tee shirts. We simply went to guest services and they credited those peoples accounts and took it from ours. If you want to practice doing that, my last name is Patrick and any amount would be fine ;) ;)

:rotfl: I don't need that kind of practice. :rotfl:

Stacy - I stayed up until 11 pm last night and got the TSV in beige!

Watched a little bit this morning but it was Marie Osmond and sewing and didn't do much for me.

The q&a was only for people having issues getting into chat, sorry if I wasn't clear on that.

But, it might help for people who have been in chat to list so we have some idea what does work, so keep going then!
