Sure Mary, Tease us with the trip down memory lane! I was on the Member Cruise, but I didn't know anyone from the Dis. :sad1: Still, we had a great time and managed to meet some great people!

And that mesh bag they gave us for shopping in Nassau is the BEST gift I've ever got in my entire life. I use that everywhere I go. And every trip to WDW, without fail, every security guard complements me on how much easier their job would be if everyone carried a bag like that.

Sorry Diana - didn't mean to tease. You are right about the bag. We used it on our June trip and the guards said the same thing to us as well.

For this trip we got a great lime green zip bag as a gift. It is perfect for the buttons we'll be bringing. I'm sure I'll be bringing the blue mesh one as well for our visit to Key West!

Mary, what a great story of our first Member's cruise. Yes, it was exactly as you said. It was our first ever cruise too and I know I have been spoiled. We haven't taken the opportunity to cruise since. So looking forward to another great story.

DH just emailed the name choices in last night. That's set. Still no door magnets, but not too worried about that.

Looking forward to everything. Oh, and I will be a DISgirl too. tee hee.

I'm wondering if the men like those frosty drinks, do the men get called DISgirls? (more adult beverages left for us gals if we can start up this one.)

Since October, I have changed my plans for before and after the cruise at least a dozen times. Now I have made my reservations, and I am so excited. We are going to Universal for a few days before the cruise and I just booked BCV for the 2 days after. We were supposed to drive home after the cruise, but I kept saying as long as we are in FL we should do Disney. I know we will be back next year, but I couldn't wait that long. I am so excited

Thanks Mary for the trip down Memory Lane! The first Member Cruise was really neat, on top of that it was going to be my first ever cruise. I had no idea what to expect - but I enjoyed everything. I never expected to get hooked/addicted to cruising! The meeting at the Radisson the night before was pretty cool too.

The only plans we have for before the cruise will be the DIS meet/Bon Voyage Party and then Sunday morning we have reservations at Chef Mickey's with my sister and her family.

Hey Mary (iluvdisney) maybe Mark can hook your laptop up to your steering wheel and you can DIS while on your road trips! :moped:

On the shoe holder front. This was taken on our 10 day cruise. The shoe holder is on the left. This gives you some idea of how much space it takes. Which will be much better than my measurements were.

Gail - don't give him ideas or he'll try and do it for himself!

Worse, he may set things up so you can steer the car with the controls from Worlds of Warcraft ;)

Here's my question for today. :flower:

What do you do to prevent sea sickness. I was reading a thread over on the CB and someone posted that if you take dramamine not to drink. :earseek: That would definately blow any thoughts of a DISgirl party for me.

My DS5 is very prone to car sickness. DH is prone to migrains and I would hate for something like that to ruin our days. I've read that a lot of people start taking something a day before and just continue every day they cruise.

Or, are patches better?

I would like to prevent any type of motion sickness all together for all of us. :scared:

Thanks.

Just a quick note regarding the Shuttle cancellation today, there will be a news conference at 4:30PM and wouldn't it be cool if they said that the next chance for launching would be Sept. 4th. Now that would give us a Fantasmic view.

John

I'm sorry but I can't help you with the seasickness. We never had an seasickness issues. My DD (who was 2 at the time) normally had car sickness, but she had no problems with sea sickness. Now, at the time, I was only 12 weeks pregnant and I did have a little bit of queasiness on the first night before dinner. But, I didn't know whether it was the ship or the pregnancy. I asked for a dinner roll quickly, and I felt fine. So, that was our only incidence of sickness.

Bonine worked well. Although I did buy the wrist magnets as a backup.

I also started the bonine the day before and stopped the day after.

The wrist bands are called
Wristbands For The Traveler, by Travel - Eze

We've never had any trouble with sea sickness but I've heard good things about Bonine.

BTW - if you forget to pack something or if you run out there are free seasick pills available at the medical center on deck 1.

John

John is that the next available window or wishful thinking?

It would bring it full circle for us as the tragedy happened the day before the last Member Cruise.

I've heard people comment that the Dramamine makes you sleepy. We carry the Bonine with us, but in 4 cruises we have never had to use it - we are not prone to motion sickness, so I'm sure this isn't a big help.

My sister (when younger use to carry a coffee can in the car on our trips) does take something (probably Bonine) on the cruises. I believe she told me she takes one before the ship starts to sail. Hey Scrappy if you're out there let us know what you take and how often.

Since we are picking on Mary about the measurements I might add that the picture of the shoe holder is on your "other" right :confused3 Nice rose petals - was that part of the REAS package? Pretty Neat!

I haven't been watching TV, so I didn't know the shuttle launch was cancelled. But, had I not just seen on TV that it was because of a faulty part, I would have thought the weather. It is raining like crazy here on the west coast of FL.

Busted! Boy I stay home sick from work - try to do something nice and screw up again. The shoe holder is on the left. DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes the rose peals are from the REAS. That was the night of our romantic turndown.

Thanks for the catch Gail.

WISHFUL THINKING.

Next window is tomorrow but might not be able to fix the problem.

If it were to go up on Sat. 3rd. we are supposed to be at KSC with the DGSs but I bet we couldn't get on property. Would then just have to watch from the hotel we will be staying at that evening.

It would make it a full circle, kind of eerie.

John

Since John isn't home, I have to have someone to pick on - and who better than my good friend Mary! :smooth:

Amy it's nice to see that here in Michigan we are finally having nicer weather than Florida! I'd still rather be in Florida while it's raining than here!

John is your hotel close to KSC? That would be cool to see the launch!

Is it able to be seen from farther distances? Obviously not the exact moment of launch, but as it is up in the sky.
