Jan, to send a pm go to a post from the person you want to pm. Then click on their user name and it will bring up a number of options -one of which is to pm the person.

Thanks Mary!!

I also need to get in there and update my profile as I am sure it does not reflect our new home. We used to live near you, now we are in Indy.

I hear ya! Only I'm home with 2 little girls and Emma doesn't start preschool until next year! :faint: There is no salvation in sight! The bonus is, now that they are both a little older, they are starting to entertain themselves!!

I feel so left out not staying at the BW! We stayed there last year for MH, had an awesome room on the top floor facing the Village Green. This year I wanted to try VWL. I've never stayed there. Anyone else going to be there or will we have the whole place to ourselves?

Animal Kingdom Lodge is awesome. We stayed there when we got married, savannah view room. I didn't sleep at all! I watched those giraffes roam around constantly!

Oh I remember those days! I had a newborn, 1 yo, 2 yo and I just knew they would never get any older and would never go to school. They now are 2nd year, 3 year and 4th year college students! I don't know how they got that old :confused3

We are staying at VWL after the cruise. It will be our first time to stay there. It is such a beautiful resort. Since we have only seen VWL in December (that tree is so cool) I'm anxious to see it as it normally is.

Ahhh, what a cool shuttle launch!! I had the 2 older girls watch the shuttle launch. They thought it was really cool too. Emily just kept yelling "fire, fire". I had to explain to her that this was good fire. I just love seeing the amazement in their eyes when the shuttle went up.

Ok, now that was really COOL!! Did anyone else see the televised view of the main tanks removing from the space shuttle??? VERY, VERY COOL!!

That was really cool! And, I have to admit, I got a little misty at times.

Don't feel bad, I did too. I just kept thinking, what a lucky and brave group of people to be on that shuttle. Prayers to those on Discovery for their safe return.

We should be arriving in Orlando at 11:25 on Saturday. We are staying at SSR on points. After the cruise we got an AP rate at the Contemporary. Mike has always wanted to stay in the Tower Rooms, so since he turned 40 this year, I am splurging.

Well I have found the striped skirt and blouse to the pirate costume I wore on the last cruise. Now I just have to figure out what I did with the vest and bandana. I did a search on ebay to see what they had to offer in pirate costumes. WOW what a selection. (If you are size 14 or less - which I am definitely not) Of course the one I liked was about $200 - I think I will be passing on that one.

I admire all of the astronauts, for their bravery. I am too much of a chicken to do anything so adventurous. I did MS last year, and liked it, however that is as close to space travel as I want to be. We'll be praying for their safe return.

My dad owns a small party store, and they sell costumes at halloween. I got to look at the 2 catalogs that he orders from, to pick out the costumes we need for pirate night. The rep sent them to him at no charge, however my costume was not in it. I told my Dad, his reply was "well what do you expect for nothing." He's right I am greatful for the 4 free costumes. Now I just have to figure out what I am going to wear. It just seems like everytime I think I have my stuff together, I don't.

What an awesome sight. Sorry we couldn't be there in person. We were in Cocoa Beach 2 weeks ago for the one that was postponed. Had a great day at the beach, but would still like to see a lift-off in person.

Anyway, Bompy, I will try agaon to Pm you. I am in Rockland so Fairlawn is not far. We are close to Montvale, Northvale and Old Tappan.

When are you heading down?
Are you flying or driving?

I called our local Party City and they are putting costumes out now. Everything should be out within the next two week.

Lillian Vernon also has a few pirate costumes.

I also just noticed that I was tagged. I think we have a tag fairy with a sense of humor! :rotfl2: Thank you tag fairy!

We were over at the US Space and Rocket Center yesterday, and it was really buzzing with excitement. Lots of visitors in anticipation of the shuttle launch today. DH works on Redstone, which is co-located with Marshall Space Center, and he said that it was very busy this morning ... lots of VIPs coming in to watch the launch. (A lot of the Communication Operations are run out of here).

DS was up bright and early this morning to watch the launch. Glad to see that it went well, and I hope that the mission and return go just as smoothly.

I figured that I would just make our pirate costumes (or my mom would be). A couple of years ago, I was at CKU (scrapbooking convention) and our "dorm" was the Tampa Bay Scrapineers, so we wore pirate costumes. I just took an oversized white t-shirt and cut the sleeves and bottom zig-zagged. Then, I took gold glitter paint and outlined the edges of the zig-zags. And, I cut a V into the neck and outlined it in gold paint and used some cord to "tie" it up. Then, I had my mom make me a quick, cheap black skirt also zig-zagged on the bottom. Then, I just took a red sash and tied it around my waist. I added some cheap gold beads & bracelets and it was all good. So, I think that will be my plan this year too.

My biggest problem is that we have Palo booked for KW night. So, as soon as we get onboard, I'm going to try to see if I can move it to the sea day or the first night.

I am so glad it took off successfully. :sunny: DH + I were waiting for the landing of the shuttle on that fateful '03 day. If I could have watched this launch in person, I would be in tears too! It was such a sad day to wander through the Space Center.

God speed to those on the current mission!

Very creative!

I was looking on line for costumes and there are alot out there priced inexpensive to outrageous. I still have to see if John is up to dressing up - maybe if I bribe him!

I'm still trying to decide exactly what I'm going to do for costumes. I'm thinking that we're going to do some kind of homemade theme for the 6 of us. I need to do some thrift shop shopping. I'm thinking lime green bandannas... ;)

What a sad memory. I can't imagine the desolation of being there. DH was on his way from Waco to DFW to catch a flight home, and saw the debris coming down. The whole thing was just incredibly sad...

I have had several PM's from the new cruisers reference the shirts that have been offered. Some have had a hard time scrolling through the thread to find it. Below is a picture of the shirt.

The shirt is 100% cotton Hanes - tagless in the neck. They wash very good.
It is not a transfer on the shirts, the emblem is SILK SCREENED right into the shirt and after many wears and washes, it will not crack and peel off.

Any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Speaking of the t-shirts, is anyone planning on adding anything to theirs? I'm thinking of adding some sort of pocket design on the front of the shirt. It just feels so empty... then again, it might be because my shirt is so big! :rotfl2:
