Sept. 30, 2006 -- Eastern Magic

Hi everybody! Hope all had a nice weekend. I don't think I got anything packed this weekend. Will try and get it all finished today.

Kimmcbee, I don't feel as bad now. I can't figure out how to post a picture either :confused3 We will be the family in the turquoise Disney t-shirts. If my brother and his family wear theirs too there will be 8 of us.

Need to go finish up, time is ticking away. We leave Thursday morning! :woohoo:

Good Morning Everyone! Well, I'm not packed. My wonderful mother came by this morning and picked up all the dress shirts for the boys that haven't been pressed yet. She loves to iron and me, well, lets just say, I DON'T.

The weekend was typical and very hectic with other commitments. I have ended up sick so off to the doctor today. No wonder with the lack of sleep and all the temperature changes. Plus, I have a tendency to get sick when I'm under a ton of stress. It has been nice to read that eveyone is a bit crazed over this vacation. I'm glad I'm not alone. My DH went out a washed my car last night after mowing. We're trying to make sure everything is in good shape before we go.

The boys are excited. DS4 has treats at preschool all week to celebrate his birthday (Oct. 5) since he won't be at school that day. Just more things to get finished. He took sacks of treats, etc. today. Cupcakes to be picked up Wed. and Thrus. p.m. for treats the following days.

I'm getting very nervous about Saturday. Our flight gets into Orlando at 12:30 p.m. (if on time) and then collecting the bags, transfers, etc. I keep thinking we'll be the ones walking on as the horn blows for departure. I'm sure I'll look frazzled  .

I looked at our signs for the door and saw a typo  . Oh well, I'm not changing them.

I think I've decided to wear short dresses for formal and semi-formal. They'll take up less room. I hope I won't be odd man out. I have plenty of formal wear but think I'll stick with my black dress attire. Simple.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

I will be in short dresses for both too! A nice black dress always works ;)

I have not had a good night sleep in days and days. I keep waking up at 3:30 or 4:00 and cannot get back to sleep! I will be the one walking around the ship looking like a zombie

I got the rest of my family almost completely packed yesterday. I am home a fair amount during the day so I can get myself packed in the next couple of days - hopefully. My DS has grown so much in the last month though that the pants I bought for him are now too small! I guess that means another shopping trip :yay:

Off to get my DS ready for school... have a happy day! :sunny:

Well, at least you know they will hold the boat for you!!!
Hopefully I haven't been such a pain that they black balled me and use this opportunity to leave without us (ha). Tracey

OMG!!! I know it has been said many times before, but I just LOVE shirley from Perfect Gift! She is just the sweetest lady. She really seems like she puts so much love and care into customizing her baskets. I was worried that it was going to be too late to order (leave it to me to wait till the end) but it was no problem. I just ordered the kids baskets and can't wait to see them. It makes me feel good to support a mom and pop shop like theirs that gives personal attention to their customers. That is so hard to find these days. Thank you Shirley!

Kathie,

Great news for us!! I didn't know how the wife & I would survive ;) without having a bottle of water for the ride. Those planes get so dry!!

It looks like they are going to start allowing some liquids on planes now - possibly good news for those of us flying this week.

Good afternoon all!

Betsy - how much is sending the ironing out? I have a few items that I would like to send out.

Super busy at work this week, so hoping it goes by fast :teeth: I am only here until noon on Thursday. Then its off to do last minute things. I think I am pretty much done packing, though. Running to Party America tonight for eye patches and glow necklaces. Nothing at the $ store here for glow necklaces. :confused3

Gotta run to the bank and get cash and $1's for tipping room service/porter. My shipboard account is stacked so we shouldn't be needing that much more!! About how much cash should I bring for just me and DD? I'm thinking I'm not planning on spending much in port. We have excursions planned in port and not doing much shopping. Plus, I can always get cash at the ATM, right???

I was going to post the new TSA rules, but Tahoemom beat me to it! Thanks Kathie! I also have not been sleeping well. Around 4:00am Sunday morning, DD came to my bed and said "I'M TOO EXCITED TO SLEEP" :lmao: Me too, I said, Me too! :teeth:

Four more days and we leave! :woohoo: :woohoo: Next week at this time we will be celebrating DD's 8th birthday on the MAGIC! :cloud9:

Let's hope that Caribbean weather outlook stays wonderful!

Monday, almost over. :cool1: Tuesday and then Wednesday....Thursday gone, outta here!!! Ron Jon's here we come and then cruisin with the Mouse!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

For those of you who have ordered baskets from Shirley, would you mind sharing how much they approximately cost?

I ordered 2 baskets from shirley (1)lg for DD10, and small sand pail for DS4. It was around $75.

I have some good news and some bad news....

the shirts came today....

The shirts are fine, they look great, but the tank tops are a pale green and small! I am so upset!!! I ordered a XXL and there is no way this is an XXL!
I have one extra shirt for whoever ordered the other tanktop...please let me know and tell Erin when she emails you that you DO NOT want the Tank top if you need it to be big

I really didn't need this extra stress...I swear, she has never messed up our shirt orders ever...and we order them all the time!

I am really sorry!

I ordered two baskets-medium size pails filled with sand toys, snacks, water and juices, candy, and pirate and princess stuff. The total, with tax and delivery, is $90. Sand toys alone on castaway cay were somewhere between $15-20 each and I am getting much more in the basket. It sounds pricey, but I think it's worth it.

I am so upset..i am sitting here in tears!

Stupid shirts..I can't believe this!

I think I will be having a drink at dinner tonight...cause I am about to have a meltdown!
