It appears that Pirates & Blue Bayou are going down for refurb some time between the end of Disney Channel nights and Star Wars nights. Really hoping that it goes down after my trip May April 20 - 25 but fully expecting that it will be down. Which is said.

In addition Jungle Cruise will be down through at least the May. And Roger Rabbit & Buzz Lightyear will also be down in April/May.

This information is gathered from looking at the details of Disney Channel Night & Star Wars Night.

Oh I hope I can get a Blue Bayou reservation for our trip April 24-28!

Keep us updated. That will be a first clue on the dates. My speculation is that it will either close 4/20 or 4/27. I am hoping for 4/27.

I just looked and was able to make a reservation for 4/24 (I didn't actually make the reservation because it is not something we are doing but it was available.)

Thanks for the heads up. It will be disappointing if Pirates is down, as that's my favorite attraction at the entire resort. I was just thinking the other day what might be closed when I visit in late-May. The major ride sticking out to me that hasn't had a refurb in a while is Pirates. It's probably due for some downtime (as much as I hate it).

Yep, as much as I hate favorite rides being down during MY trip I do understand that they have to go down and it will affect someone's trip. I am just glad we (in general) have a heads up so we are prepared and not surprised when we get there.

How were you able to see there are reservations on april 28th? I only saw up to 27th today.

For all of us going in late-April, all of May, and potentially into June...

This seems pretty substantial. I would guess a month+. I am personally disappointed, because it's my favorite ride and I'll be there in late-May.

Oh goodness, sorry about that. That was a typo. I meant April 27th. Although it appears reservations are also available today for April 28th.

Correct, and it could only be SOME of the Star Wars nights. It could close late-April or early-May. Blue Bayou could remain open the entire time, or close only part of the time. The ride could go down before BB closes.
Blue Bayou is also listed as unavailable so it will go down at some point as well. Until the calendar is out we won't know for sure. There being BB reservations through at least May 28th is giving me hope that Pirates could be open through then as well. It is a wait and see at this point.

I'm guessing that this type of refurb would require them to drain the water and keep the lights on all day. If Blue Bayou stays open, they will probably fence it off from the water/view.

I might be misremembering which refurb, but I believe the last Pirates refurb had BB open part of the time with fences blocking off the view of Pirates.
