Sept. 30, 2006 -- Eastern Magic

Hi everyone,

I haven't been paying attention to the thread lately, but now that we've crossed the 90 day line it's time to get excited. :rockband: party:

Betsey, thank you for sharing some Disney pictures on your "dot Mac" site.
I'll try to do the same with some of our Disney photos.

Happy Birthday, Kathy!

I look forward to seeing you, Dave and the kids in about an hour.

Happy Indepence weekend,

Bill

Hi All,

Ladies: I got the 4 people reservation for High Tea on Monday at 3PM for you. I put the reservation under Kathy.

Gotta run.

David

well, I finally got a hold of the TA that has our ressie. She doesn't know how she got it but said it would take to long to put it back in our name if we wanted to book our excursions right now, so, as angry as I am that a TA (non-Disney) has our ressie, I wanted to book now so I paid off the trip and stayed with the unknown agency. I did make her agree to pay me the $200 that my real TA would have paid me IF I had gotten it back on time. I have been calling this agency since April when we found out it was no longer in our name. No one called back until yesterday (the day before I could book my extras - coincidental? I think NOT!)

On a better note - I got my ressies for St. Thomas (we opted out of CC and St Maarten excursions). I booked and cancelled Palo. No one else but me wants to do it again (my husband hates being on a time table especially if it may happen to conflict with something important, like BINGO:thumbsup2 or TRIVIA.:rotfl2:Oh well, there is always next time!!!
Found out I have 5:30 dinner APL rotation - Oh well. The rest of the family likes the 5:30 time. Me? well I have my worries. For instance, I am from AZ so with the time change, dinner will be at our 1:30 PM. A very nice, very late lunch. On a good note, my kids will be able to stay up late enough to have fun at the Pirate party... On the Western CA cruise, they were falling asleep in dinner and we had the early one then as well :guilty:
My son is still determined not to go to the Oceaneers Club. I have Grandpa making soap boats with him and having trivia contests but it is not going to help. As much as I want him to go and have fun, it is vacation so I guess he does not have to go. I will stop pushing it - Oh who am I kidding - I 'll keep pushing it until I scar him for life!!!
I am really getting excited for this trip, it is finally feeling like it is just around the corner!

Hi All,

Just a quick update to the Roll Call.

What can we do to get everyone to post more often?

Like: jenschaef1, staceymerrill, ioahulk, shell0616, kelscross, kscott4475, etc...

Talk later.

David

Hello everyone. Well, it looks like we have enough ressies for the tea. If anyone thinks we need more, I can make another ressie for 4. Just let me know because I need to call my TA anyways.

Now I'm really getting excited with everyone making reservations!! :woohoo: Wow!! It is actually getting SOOOOO close. Yiiipppeeeeeeeee!!!!!   :dance3:

OK, gotta go calm down a bit... :bitelip:

Isn't your DS 8? My DS is 8 too and *hopefully* he will like the clubs and could persuade yours to go to?? Didi's DS is 9 and I know there are other DS's of similar age that might be able to talk him into going. Maybe one of our DS's could invite yours to the club for a "playdate." Don't you worry, we'll try to work something out. BTW, I'm all for scarring them for life, just ask my DS about his Donald Duck costume! heheh :rotfl:

Kate and another little girl from our old cruise started emailing before the cruise...they became good friends before the trip thaat they WANTED to go to the club together...

Is this a girls only experience? Some of us Y-chromasome types like high tea, too. (well, maybe only me)

No, no... I have no gender issues. I just remember an awsome high tea years ago at Jordan Pond House on Mount Desert Island. We sat out on the edge of a lake that looked like something out of Wagner's ring trilogy, with the mountains rising beyond, and bald eagles soaring overhead. Okay, I'm just digging myself in deeper. Right?

Hey, for the record, I was once a pretty good football player.
No use, is it? Alright... just pass me another beer.

:drinking1

Thanks for the encouragement. Hopefully that is what will work - especially if they play ball first - my son is excited to play ball and shuffle board he just is afraid to leave us (which is odd because we never have an issue at school.) If your kids are up for it maybe they can email back and forth?!
Funny that you have a costume story - my son only wears costumes in his room with the door closed - no costumes on Halloween for him (this is since he could walk). One year I told him he could not trick-or treat without his costume so he carried Eeyore around and held it up when saying trick-or treat! :rotfl2:

We are counting down to day 75. Still not sure what we are going to book, but have a few more days. I know I want a brunch, we have not decided what to do in port. Oldest son going to play n baseball world series next weekend, so we have been busy at the ball park this week. We have to travel to Kentucky next weekend. Should be a fun 5 days. Wish us luck.

Morning All, :sunny:

Patrick is up and I'm making the coffee. :coffee: Patrick wants to chat with the kids who are going on the cruise. We should probably set them up on their own thread, I think Betsy had mentioned that's what she did.

I registered Patrick for the Club and mentioned that he could check himself out at anytime. That seemed to appease him. I told he could review what projects the Club had to offer and he could choose to go. He wasn't thrilled with the Club last year. Truth to be told, Patrick just wanted to hang out with us. He misses us. Yup, and he doesn't do sleepovers either. :rotfl: He tells my girlfriend it's because I would miss him and that I could not handle it If he wasn't home!!! :rotfl:

Lenzs4, don't dispare, have your son chat with mine. By the way, Chris who is also nine, Patrick's cousin loves baseball. I'll get David to set Chris up too so he can chat. Hey, David set Chris up will ya!!!!!!!! :rolleyes1

Angela, where's Danny? Patrick has been asking for him. I haven't been on the thread much, but I need to get up to speed here.

Jennifer, where are you? Anymore scoop on the hubby's job?

Hey and other men out there, other than John, David and my DH? We need to get the menfolk on this thread too.

Betsy, good response to Bill's post!!! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: I won't mention that he sometimes holds my pocketbook for me when my hands are full!!!!! :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: I'm quite sure he'll get me for that one!!! :rotfl2: :lmao:

Kim, have fun, and good luck!!! How awesome your son is playing in the world series. You must be pretty proud of him!!!

Angela, how many Ressies do we have for High Tea? Maybe there will be an extra spot for Bill. :lmao: I'll make sure he holds up his pinkie when he slurps his tea!!!! :lmao: :rotfl2:

Love Ya Honey!!!!

Time for some coffee. Happy Fourth of July everyone!!! :grouphug:

Hi All,

I was goofing around this morning and came up with this:

Any thoughts? This would probably cost about $12 each. Maybe less if we order more.

Lets here some feedback! :artist:

Hi David,

I thought we were doing braclets? Are we going to do Tee Shirts too? Well off to the beach. I'll see you later on.

Hi Betsey,
I knew I was going to regret my remark about high tea.
Didi, laughing hysterically, offered to tell me the difference,
but I decided it was safer to not know.

Hi all, haven't checked been here in a few weeks...life got a little crazy. I'm now back and between jobs :teeth: :happytv: for the next few weeks so I will have time to finally plan this vacation. Checked my reservation yesterday on the disney web site and managed to get an upgrade...we booked 2 Cat 12s since we are never in the room anyway except to sleep, (and I'm kinda cheap :lmao: ) and were upgraded to 2 10s. They are directly under a nightclub so will be noisey...but with 4 kids I am used to noise, and hopefully our neighbors will think the noise is coming from the club and not my kids. :teeth: :rotfl: This is our 4 DCL and we have never been upgraded before but this is the first time we have booked cat 12s, all our previous rooms have been connecting 10s. Anyone else get an upgrade??

DiDi: DH decided that the family separation would just be too much and so turned down a job offer for the present time. It was a terrific opportunity, just bad timing (DD senior year of high school, and a new job commitment for me), and hopefully the door has not been closed to future opportunities at the company.

Lenzs4: PM me if you want to get the kids together before school starts. Our sons might not be so reluctant to try the clubs if they knew someone beforehand. McDonalds is always a good choice (queen creek and alma) or (chandler heights and Alma)????

Ok, did they change the day repeat cruisers could sign up for excursions/Palo?...ugh, I thought it was 75 days...not 90. I guess I need to pay off my cruise today and get planning.

Jennifer

Jennifer - 90 days for CC members! HURRY!!!

I don't expect an upgrade since I selected my room (a secret porthole room) but would gladly take a veranda if they want to give me one!!

We are really getting excited and can't wait until we can make our ressies. :Pinkbounc We have decided on Coral World and the stingray excursion at CC. Nothing in St. Marten. I am not doing spa, but DD is doing braiding at CC. Do we need ressies for that too?

How can we find out what dining rotation we have? I requested PAL early dinner, but was told no guarantees. When does it become final?

Betsy, Baylee is wondering where Katelyn is! :guilty: We should really set up a thread for the kids, or has this been done and I don't know about it?

I can't believe some people have already gotten upgrades! I will have to check, but I doubt that I have. I still have a couple bucks to pay, but have to wait til pay day. Nothing like waiting until the last minute!

Sheila - if you book a GTY room, you get an upgrade sooner..they start getting assignments out...I have heard of people getting upgrades AFTER getting their docs (20 days) before the cruise.
No reservations needed for hair braiding

Cool shirt! I really like the back side of it. Unfortunately, I'm already making tie-dyed shirts for the fam and I don't think I will be able to get DH into another matching tee. :rotfl: But we are still on for the bracelets. :thumbsup2

I hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th of July. We love fireworks!! pixiedust: pixiedust: It was SO hard getting up this morning to get to work. I was only a few minutes late :rolleyes1 but I still beat most everyone in. Nothing that a gallon of iced latte couldn't cure. :coffee:

Kim: That is so cool that your son will be in the World Series!! Good luck to you guys!! We watch it every year on ESPN. What's his name and what team does he play on? We'll keep an eye out for him!

I will go ahead and have Danny start a kids thread TONIGHT! I will have him call it Sept. 30, 2006 Magic (Eastern) - KIDS THREAD!! I'll type the title for him so it's correct. ;) That way they can all talk to each other and start making plans.

Didi - I think we have a total of 12 reservations for tea. Should I make more? Bill, will you be crashing the party? I know my DH has NO problem sitting and chatting with a bunch of women and would come too, but probably only if they serve him beer instead of tea! :lmao: So, is Patrick 9? I don't think we are going to give Danny check out privileges, only because he is pretty independent and I'm worried he'll check himself out and not tell me. He loves sleepovers and jumps at any opportunity to do stuff without us. Honestly, I should be offended and probably even worried about this. :sad2:

Welcome back Jennifer! Glad to see that DH made that decision to stay close. I would go crazy out of my mind if DH wasn't home with us. :grouphug: That's great about the upgrade. I didn't realize they would already be doing those. I better go check my reservation!!

Have a great day everyone! Gotta go :moped:
