Sept. 28th, 2008 - Oct. 2nd, 2008 * Wonder 4 Night *

jester - you are not the only one without docs. We are still waiting, but I have printed out the online registration papers, so hopefully we won't have any difficulties. Thanks, churros, for the FE list. :woohoo: DS12 and DD9 are looking forward to meeting new friends at the meet and greet. :grouphug: We also have the magnetic paper, but I haven't tried it yet. I will be using the google tip, though - thanks for the info. Here, here for the hurricane hunters - will anyone be labeling their door with our identity tag?

i started packing:woohoo:
i leave in 2 weeks my flight is sat at 4 that is gonna be the longest day and i work night shift the night before that is gonna be longest 12 hrs ever:sad2:
when is everyone leaving i think cherros is the 1st to leave

We leave on the 17th.:cheer2: :cheer2: We will be gone for 2 1/2 weeks. :cool1: I am busy cleaning my house as we will have a house sitter staying with our pets (1 dog, 1 fish, 1 cornsnake, 1 firebellied toad, and 2 cats - I could leave them all in one room and have quite the circle of life :rotfl: ). I figure I am asking enough of her to feed our menagerie w/out having to live in our squalor :lmao: . I definitely have vacation on the brain at work. Instead of solving everyone's crisis, most of my sentences start with...well I'll be gone on vacation soon so you might want to ask someone else about ______. My boss is pretty cool and he understands my mood (plus he owes me as he took off four weeks thru the summer). Counting the hours (it used to be days but I have switched   )

Thanks for all the thanks:rotfl: I have really enjoyed this forum and it has helped pass the time but now it is only 7 more sleeps until we fly out of Sydney!:cool1:

It is Saturday night and I have been ironing, packing and organising my itinerary and ticket folder. We have one night in LA before we hit All Star Music and I am thinking of having dinner at the Disney Soda Fountain in Hollywood. Has anyone been ? Will it be crowded on a Saturday night ....oooh...next Saturday night:banana:

It is football (rugby league) semi-finals tonight and I am quite relieved to be leaving the country, particularly if my husband's team loses - no wonder I'm leaving him at home!:goodvibes

We are flying out of Virginia at 7:00 am on Saturday the 27th. We are spending one night at Fort Wilderness in a cabin. We have never stayed there so we are pretty excited to check it out.

We will be swooping in to Pleasure Island that night to the Adventurer's Club! Boo Hoo! We will be there to say goodbye, for now....I hope.:sad2:

We fly out Tue. the 23rd at 6am
arriving in Orlando by 3:30pm
(noon to our west coast tummies)

I hope to bring enough snack food on the plane to be able to go right to ME.
Check in, nap, swim, - just play it by ear

evening choices include
sing along at fort wilderness (hot dogs & smores for dinner)
or
DTD Earl of Sandwich for dinner
or
stroll the boardwalk

I take my mom to the airport this Tuesday for her trip to Italy. (A photo taking tour with some friends)
Then it will be 7 days exactly :yay:

I've borrowed all the big suitcases from family members.
now the piles begin.

We fly out of Manchester, UK on the 26 September and arrive in Orlando the same day.

2 nights at the Sheraton City Studio and hitting Universal's Halloween Horror Night the night before the cruise (27/9).

9 more WORK get ups to go!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

Claire

We depart on Tues the 28th, too! We leave Columbus, OH at 12:20 and arrive at MCO around 4. We may hang out at the Beach Club that evening and watch a movie on the beach. Who knows? We don't actually have tickets to the parks until Thurs (unless I can sweet-talk a CM into giving them to us a day early  ), so we're just going to spend some quality down-time as a family for a couple of days. Maybe rent a boat or go bike riding (things we always want to do, but never find the time to do). Only 9 more days!!!

Maybe this is a good time to ask...

If we take a photo at the cruise meet
(which I hope we do)
is everyone ok with
a) having their family/children's picture taken
b) that pic being shared with family
c) that pic being shared on the dis boards

I know not all families are comfortable with the images of their children being available online.

Not at all familiar with photobucket,
but I did see a blurry feature in the edit menu.

I am very torn on this.
I am addicted to the trip reports here on the boards.
Love all the pics, food paparazzi, stories.
So many wonderful families.

DD is the cutest thing ever :cloud9:
(not like I have a bias or anything)
but I can't push the idea from my mind
that I shouldn't be putting her face on the internet.

I'm sure this has been debated on the boards somewhere.
Any thoughts? :confused3

Hey Miztigg; I am leaving on the same day and time as you! hahaha
Better get packing quick, and don't worry I will call you the night before to keep you company at work:banana:

Our FE gifts are ready to go, but somewhere along the way I had read that it originally began as a secret Santa thing. Are we supposed to label them from us, or leave secretly?

Tolers1 I've labelled my gifts :)

gr8leg8 - I don't have a problem with photos on the internet. I guess if we have a group photo then people who do have concerns can probably just hold off joining in.

Group picture will be fine, though DH hates big pictures, so we may be out of the picture. We drive down and are leaving on the 26th after school - :dance3: See everyone there!

Hi all ... my first chance getting back to the dis in awhile.

I think i need to pull out of the FE ... i have no room to pack gifts for 28 kids.

i realize that this is very short notice. I think i didnt know what i was agreeing too.

So sorry!

No worries pakdayton.:thumbsup2

I don't think it is necessary to give each child an individual gift, even if it is something very simple for each each family - maybe a postcard or magnet from your home town/state. Remember not all of us are from the US :goodvibes

12 more days before we all set sail. My DW and I will be driving down from Indiana on Saturday. We plan on stopping off in Panama City and then waking up early the next morning to drive down to Port Canaveral. I think it's about a 6 hour drive from there and we want to make the terminal by around noon, so with the time change we'll have to leave around 5:00, woohoo! Maybe that first day at sea won't be too bad after all, lol.

I wish I could say I was packed, but I pulled the suitcases out the other night and the response I got was...it's too early to pack. I'll have to remind that individual of the comment when that person is rushing to get things packed. Oh well, for now gonna work on a list of things I need to bring so they are not forgotten...birth certificates with color copy, safe sea w/ spf 30, safe sea w/ spf 30...

See ya real soon!

Tim

Well, of course it's too early to pack. Unfortunately, we're still wearing the clothes we need for our vacation. Now, if we were cruising in February, it would be a different story! :rotfl:

Yes, yes...but I feel like I have to keep doing something each night to get ready for the cruise or the time just won't move fast enough. It'd be nice if I could take my mind off of it, but that's just not gonna happen, lol. Okay where is that universal remote control...fast forward, now, stop. :lmao:
