Sept. 26, 2009 Magic

On Tuesday in St Maarteen you can buy liquor at the duty free shop and just carry it on board. Or if we get moved to a Western Itinerary get it first day in Key West.

Most of the Disney Hotel gift shops do sell bottles of liquor. You pay top dollar but it is still could be worth it.

I spent $9 on a jar of Vapo Rub once at the Coronado Springs gift shop. I don't leave things like this up to chance if I can help it. ;) With our luck, a half pint of Crown would be $40. ;)

Speaking of switching itineraries, what do we think about the chances of this happening??

Where would we go?

We are not jazzed on the idea of Nassau or Cozumel.

This is also a concern of mine. Mostly because I have read the recent trip reports of basically having to re-pick shore excursions in a place you have no knowledge about. So, my OCD self has now begun researching the western ports on the OFF CHANCE we end up there we still get to do something we'd enjoy.

We've never been on an eastern cruise -- only a few westerns. I figure if there is anywhere to snorkel then we'll be ok. But we'd probably end up at some garden variety ports -- Nassau, Cozumel, Grand Cayman. I don't even think we'd get off the boat in Nassau we disliked it so much. We'd snorkel in Grand Cayman and DH had a little seasickness issue when we snorkeled in Cozumel, so we'd have to talk about that. ;)

At the end of the day (I say this phrase a lot in person) being on a cruise to anywhere is better than a day at the office. ;) If we end up having to go to any western ports, I can help out with tips on a few of the ports as I end up researching ports quite a bit before I go. ;)

Bingbing, we have a winner! That's mine! :lmao:

To be honest, I'm not really busy with changing itineraries, except trying to sway the Gods so it'll end up being chanced itineraries at the later part of our cruise, which would leave us onboard for days at an end more. Extra vacation at the cost of my insurance. Now doesn't that sounds like heaven. A very good reason to book during hurricane season. :rotfl::lmao:

Oh and psssssst, don't tell Lieske, but I've already even poundered what scenarios might come into place if on the way back we'ld miss our EWR connection. Not too many flights after ours that or going to Europa, non to AMS. So if it is busy, that would mean being stranded at New York at the cost of our insurances. Maybe it could even take a couple of days, can you say; free city trip? :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

On the good side (before Lieske starts to think I'm purposly trying not to get us home :rolleyes1 ), I've got a list all set with flight schedules for all flights we're scheduled on. So if we miss any, no need for the agent to check which flights there are, I can simply tell them to check flight number X. And of course did the same for CO's partners. Now how's that for flight OCD?

Often times when there is an itinerary change there are FREE DRINKS!!!!

Oh, dear God! I don't even want to think about an itinerary change because I'm soooooo looking forward to our ATV excursion. Of course, I guess if DCL was offering free drinks, I really wouldn't care either way. :rotfl:

Guys, I know we have discussed this issue off and on a couple times, but do you think that we should firm up who is going to be hosting the white board (for those who get upgraded at the Port, or to otherwise communite with our peeps). If it's okay, I'll be more than happy to do it...I know for sure that our stateroom isn't changing. Is everyone cool with that? Any better suggestions out there? :flower3:

Of course I'm cool with that! Probably couldn't get any closer to my own stateroom, so that's making it VERY easy for lazy me. :lmao::rotfl:

Next thing of business; deciding on a spot and time to disclose who's whoms Secret Mickey. Everybody OK with Friday October 2nd right after the PJ breakfast? I know most of us will be there anyway, so might be a good spot?

What about those of us with scheduled activities on Castaway Cay that morning? I looked at some of my past navigators and it looks like Lumieres opens around 7:30 or 8:00am on most days. If we can get in, eat and have the "reveal" and still have time to go change clothes then I should be ok.

To be honest, haven't got a clue how early the activities start. One of the reasons I'm posting on here, so anybody with something scheduled can tell me 'no way, jose'.

I personally could make it to where I need to be but might be better to do reveal day before since it's sea day.

Thursday is also fine by me. Having no experience what so ever, what would be a suitable time during a sea day?

Night probably is out with the 2 dining times and shows, I assume? What about day activities? *is going to look for a navigator*

OK, had a look at the navigators from last February. Around 3 there seems little to do, only the talent show rehearsals, group cycling and some kids clubs activities.

So, new proposition;

Revealing of the Secret Mickeys on Thursday october 1st, at 3.00 pm. Who's for and who's against? It would still leave us with location. Was thinking about Topsiders, but the buffet ends at 2 pm. Does anybody know if Topsiders stays open afterwards or not??

:upsidedow Darn on the free drinks for us..since we don't drink any alcohol and we can already get free sodas/tea/coffee.....but :thumbsup2 for all of you. :goodvibes As for the ATV I was just reading my passporter and if we stop in Cozumel they have three very cool excursions...

1 is "Drive a four person 4x4 jeep through the tropical scrub. After bump, bump, bumping alond the dirt rods, you will enjoy a yummy lunch on the beach and explore some low key ruins"

2 is Dune buggy and beach "drive a dune buggy along the eastern coast of Cozumel and see where the locals call home in the town of San Miguel and drive through the busy hotel district. Upon reaching your destination, play in the sand and snorkel to oyur hearts content"

3 is wild tours ATV [not through Disney] "is an adventurous excursion during which you can tool around the jumgle in an ATV, go kayaking, then do a bit of snorkeling"

So any of those might help ease the sting? Maybe? Sorta? :rotfl: Just trying to be helpful :lovestruc

On the WBTA in 2007 we did our reveal in the Promenade Lounge on deck 3. Dont remember the time of day, but there was nothing going on and we were not there long.
