Sept. 26, 2009 Magic

This is first time on Disney Cruise. We will be sailing on the Magic Sept
26,2009. Just learned about fish extender. We like to sign up and need
to know who to talk to. Can anybody help me? Thank you

I said, are you really wanting $2 from me to cover this? Really? In the same phone call I was booking the 14 day eastbound transatlantic next April. She ended up putting me on hold for 5 minutes to tell me that I can keep my $2. Oh good.

Um, how thoughtful of them, right? I hate to say it, Hon, but this sounds like a trainwreck in the making. :sad2:

Welcome to our group!! The "official" signup for the FE ended a couple months ago, but the good news is that some people either purchased or made extra, so you can definitely participate in the exchange. Just post your information (including cabin number and number of people in your party, including the ages of the children) and you'll get added to the list. :thumbsup2

My older daughter and I quickly scanned the "kids thread" and noticed a lot of well, shall we say "fluff and flames." :rolleyes1

Anyway she does not feel comfortable jumping into the mix so to speak. If anyone is traveling with a 13 yo or 9 yo girl, my girls would be interested in email chatting a bit. :goodvibes:goodvibes

Of course school is comming up (:dance3:) and with the cruise 38 days or so away everyone's going to be real busy... Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ye ready matey? pirate: (Just had to throw in some fluff of my own!)

Anyway if anyone has kids that are interested, PM me and we'll swap the details.

Any idea how much a cab will be to the beach in St. Thomas? :beach: I guess I can try to "google" it, but thought I would ask on here first...

Update....found a website for Islander Taxi Service. :drive: They take reservations so I may check on that one. I want someone I can trust!! Looks like they have large bus/vans/trucks that maybe several of us could share if anyone is interested. I am all for saving some money especially after I get thru this wedding in 2 weeks!!:faint:

I was researching cabs on another forum (I know, it's bad to stray...:sad2:).

There were several threads about "Island Taxi" ( I think) or something similar, being questionable.

I think I was searching for reviews on "Island Marketing" which seems to have a very good rep for excursions, etc.

I would have to find the forum/thread to be sure about the name, but in general, be sure to confirm what your rate is, USD, # of people, etc...

There was even one case where the fee was $14, the traveler paid with (3) $5 bills and a $1, and the cabbie pocketed one of the $5's and ran after him yelling that he had been shorted.

Not trying to scare anyone. We've been on many DCL trips and taken many cabs over the years and so far have not had any troubles. Just be aware of your situation.

I do have daughters, but they are 19 and 22.....:)

Unless your daughters were CM's it's unlikley that they hung around with mine since they are 13 and 9. :rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl:

You are one of our National Treasures in that you have survived the "teen years," - presumably intact. :worship:

LOL - this is truly my biggest fear with doing anything outside of DCL. I can't even begin to tell you guys how much DH and I had to debate even to do the ATV excursion (but since I'm going with my DIS peeps, I feel 100% confident that we'll be okay). It's pathetic how un-travel-savvy I am. :sad2:

COOL :cool1:
Then bottle opening pair of thongs
Now a TEQUILA Tasting TEE and Crab boxers :woohoo:
:rolleyes1

Then bottle opening pair of thongs :scared1: Crab boxers are these the ones he is using for the fe??? at least we'll know what to look for :lmao:

My girls are 12 and 10, so not exactly the same ages, but close. We just scanned the kids' post area and they decided to post at the end anyway. We kind of ignored the "fluff and flames." You could check out the last few posts (which I think are still theirs) and let us know if your girls would like to get in touch.

Relax babe. You ARE travel-savvy, but just don't know it yet. When travelling it all comes down to common sense, logic, intuition and some homework.

If you follow those, you will avoid 99% of any trouble, pickpocketing, anything you can run into as a tourist. Seriously, I like to travel alone and do such. No biggie, as long as you got a good head on your shoulders. Did it when walking, still do it rolling. Some safe places, some less so. Follow basic rules and you will be fine.

Cabs? Same thing. Always negotiate upfront, make very clear what will and wont be included. Have your gut-instinct and dare to follow it when it tells you to, and you will have avoided most possible problems to begin with.

Busy busy busy.....

Welcome :cheer2: everyone old and new.

Had to get our Disney fix this past weekend, so friends asked us to meet the at hollywood studios on Sun.

We are taking our DD this weekend (although she doesnt know it) to stay at the Coronado, yes just before school starts on Monday. So I think we'll be ok until our Disney cruise. :rolleyes1

Same here Crystal. I had to go on several other forums to read reviews and verify that Royal Caribbean approved the atv company before I booked. Better safe than sorry. :thumbsup2

:flower3: I totally understand. Since my girls are on the thread I would pop in every now and then to read and keep up...When I :scared1: saw what you probably did...which drove away alot of the older girls I had to post a "nice, friendly" Parents are watching letter. My Macy will not even post or read the thread anymore she is too  hurt/frustrated..and my Jennah who was one of the og posters along with Chappel have been posting less, and less and less. But as you said with a little more then a month away everyone is getting SUPER busy and having less time to post anyway. But personally if I was you I would have your two go on the thread just to introduce themselves so the other girls their age can get to know them..just do what I do and keep a sharp eye out at the thread. :thumbsup2

You will be fine. The biggest thing is to use common sense as you would visiting anywhere, even at the supermarket at home. There are honest and dis-honest people everywhere.

We're also going on the ATV trip. I suspect it's not offered by DCL due to the Orient Beach stop. By US standards that wouldn't be consistent with a "family friendly" excursion.:hippie::cool2::3dglasses:woohoo:

Pam, is that for Maagen's Bay, or another beach?

Maagens Bay

I'm just buying the magnetic paper sheets and running them through my printer. What about a Kinko's? Will they be able to do something like this?

I am using Kinkos for my FE gifts and IF I can find time to go buy some magnet paper I will do my door magnets at home....otherwise Kinkos may get to do them also.

Are we supposed to be meeting somewhere in the terminal before boarding the ship? I can't remember if I read a post about this or not. :confused3What time is everyone planning on getting to the terminal?

I will be there by 10:30am.....I think some of us are meeting near the window by the Ears entrance....collecting bracelets, name tags, etc.....

Let me know your names, cabin number, where you are from, ages of kids and I will get you added to the roster. You can participate in the FE if you would like to. Because many have alreay bought gifts based on the totals at our cut-off date, you may not get as much as everyone else, but we would love to have you participating anyway!!

Page 1 and 9 are full of useful information for planned activities with our group.

Sonia

Well...maybe I was referring to myself!! :rotfl: I am slowly going crazy with all this wedding planning, but it is only 17 days away now and I think I might just make it!!!!:woohoo:

sftnslky,

Thanks for posting on the kids thread. I noticed that they apologized and seem to have cleaned it up a little. :thumbsup2

From what I understand, The Navigators stay pretty much the same from cruise to cruise. Look at the FAQ sticky on the main Cruise Board, there is a link to an Eastern Navigator from January or February.

Thanks....after I posted, I remembered how to look it up on here. It has been a little while since my cruise, but it is all coming back to me!!
