Sept. 26, 2009 Magic

The FE thing looks fun! Looks like we missed the deadline, though. ;)

We're mid 30's travelling with no children, so hopefully there will be other couples we can hang out with! My DH likes to drink beer, talk about hockey and motorcycles. I like to hang out by the pool and sip frou frou drinks.

We're booked on a snorkel excursion in St Thomas and are not sure what we're doing in St M. I was reading about a place called Margot or something like that where we can take a bus or something there and just sort of hang in a cafe and do some shopping. I hear the snorkeling is not so fab in St M.

That said, we are planning on snorkeling at Castaway and the adult beach is always divine. :thumbsup2

Are we still able to get in on some sort of wrist band or other ID that lets everyone know that we're friendly and wanting to meet people? :)

I can add you to the FE list if you want to participate. Alot of folks have already purchased their FE gifts, so there is a chance you may not receive as much as others. Let me know if you are putting up a FE and I will add you to the list.

PJ Breakfast is still open and you can also join us for the cabin tours if you are interested. All that is listed on the facebook page. I just need a final count for the breakfast by Sept. 24.

Hopefully he didn't loose them while swimming! :scared1::laughing::upsidedow

HA HA HA :rotfl: I was thinking the same dern thing....poor DH.

No, he didn't lose them while swimming. That would be pretty funny though! :rotfl2: It's not like he swims that much either...who knows where they are...

Maybe tomorrow. They are released every Monday. :)

Yes, that would make for a VERY good Monday!

My dad used to live at Square Lake and Middlebelt! (and he winters on Longboat Key now!)

I'm in the Sarasota area...I know Longboat very well! :thumbsup2

Yep, I'd rather be frugal and going than not going.... and yes, more money to spend on drinks and excursions and stuff!

We were actually booked on the same cruise at the end of October and this one came up as $100 pp cheaper so I called to change our reservation. The woman on the phone was like "well, you're going to lose the early dinner seating" and I told her that for $200 I didn't care!

We probably would've lost it anyway being that we have no children travelling with us.

Anyway, thanks for the welcome everyone! I'll have to ask DH about what he'd like to do, but for now we'll definitely meet up for the sail away thing! I put us in for that on facebook. :)

Isn't that FatCats slogan?

(I think he's brought her over to the dark side - LOLOLOLOL.) :rotfl2:

I believe that if you wanted the earlier dinner seating that you can ask for it after you embark on the ship (along with Palo reservations, etc.). :thumbsup2

I'm starting to think they are not going to post FLR for our sailing since it is the cheapest one of the year. They already have FLR out for the western the week after our cruise as well as the Eastern after that. Looks like the boat may have sailed on the FLR rates for our cruise.

October 3 9 $699

I have 6 names on the FE list that do not list cabin numbers yet. If you have found out your cabin number, PLEASE let me know so I can add it to the list. Dont want you to get left out because we didnt know where to find you.

The ones we need are .... Ky Cruisin, ivet, PenskeSth1, Intlmanofmystery, Disneymom2008 and bobbie0253

Still no cabin number here. We booked a GTY.... I keep checking for that number to appear! LOL

I am checking on the DCL site where it says retrieve reservation... I hope I am looking in the right place.

I started making my FE gifts... I am so excited and hope everyone likes them. I also bought the fabric for my FE. Does anyone feel like posting pics of theirs? I love looking at FE pics.

hi everyone! :cutie:

we're booked for this cruise. a little overwhelmed by the amount of people who already know each other.... but wanted to throw our hat in the ring.

I hope we all have a lovely time.

Hi and WELCOME! I agree I too feel a little overwhelmed because we booked not too long ago too...but everyone here is so nice ;) It's hard coming into the group late...but once we are onboard I am sure we will all get to know each other fast :lovestruc

Can't wait to get to know ya ;)

Our cruise was pretty cheap in general -- anyone have any idea why? :confused3

My theroy is that it's because we're sailing around the peak of hurricane season, combined with the fact that school is back in session. I remember when I priced all the dates out last year, the 9/26 sailing was the cheapest of the year!

Just curious... who is everyone's favorite Disney character? Favorite Disney Movie?

We are really not die hard Disney Fans so I am curious how "die hard" everyone else is? :lmao: I think my fav of the Disney crew is Goofy or Pluto of the regular Disney family... and for the non-traditional character I would have to say One-eyed Mike from Mosters Inc. or Bruce from Finding Nemo. I am not a princess type of girl.... LOL I guess Ariel is okay though.

I am a major Kermit the Frog fan though...and was like a little kid at Christmas when I saw they had a Muppets show at Hollywood Studios. Of course Matthew got hungry during the show and I ended up nursing him and missing parts of the show. :sad2: Oh well.. next time!

Does anyone know if there are any sights to see or beaches within walking distance of the ship in either St. Maarten or St. Thomas? From what I've been researching, it looks like everything requires a cab or bus ride to get to. We're doing one excursion in each already, but I was wondering if there's anything else that can be found on foot for the other part of the day. I'm just not sure I want to put my little kids in a taxi without carseats. Thanks...

In St. Maarten there is a beach walking distance to the ship, or you can take the water taxi. Last time I checked it was $5 a person for the day or $3 one way. The walk took us about 15 minutes if I remember right. The beach is nice and there are places to eat/drink there. The shopping is also in that same area. Dave rented a jet ski on that beach once too.

About St. Thomas we usually end up doing very little on that island for some reason. LOL.... I am drawing a blank as to what is within walking distance there. I still have no idea what we are going to do there either.

I hear ya about not wanting to put them in a car without a car seat ;) We are going to head to Maho Bay in St. Maarten and I am a little worried about the ride with no car seat. Island taxi drivers are nuts sometimes! It's like a roller coaster sometimes.

Ack.

Dishwasher is finally toast. Been a series of issues but now that I have to open it with a screwdriver I am going to ante up.

Got

Bosch
24-Inch Evolution 500 Series Dishwasher

Gotta keep my liquor glasses clean

NICE! We just replaced ours too...but not with anything that nice.

Sucks that ya had to buy a new one though :(

hmmmm Wonder if we are close to full capacity?

Sonia

I guess we could be close to capacity -- I usually prefer when boats aren't of course ;) -- but they actually took the cat 12s away for a while and brought them back for sale quite recently. It makes me think that a quite a few people booked and then cancelled by July 13 or whatever the deadline was.

Speaking of cheap cruising, we did an NCL last December and not only was it pretty inexpensive but the boat was at like 60% capacity. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas is apparently an excellent time and I figure it's because people are saving for the holidays.

I think an inside cabin started at $179 pp for 5 days before taxes and fees. In. Sane. Of course, that's a "nickel and dime you" sort of cruise with extras.

Hey guys~~ Internet was down at my house last night, I was very twitchy and now I am running around trying to get ready to go out of town for a few days so, I am typing on the fly.

I had planned on getting the final, final call for wrsitbands, along with the current list that I have, out last night and it didn't happen. And now I am going to be in and out of pocket for the next several days. So, short story long, there is a one week extension on the wristbands, I will be ordering on Sunday the 16th of August and I will 'publish' my current order list no later than Friday of this week.

Seems that the general consensus was to remove the date from the wristbands and put "Capturing the Caribbean" instead. Please let me know if I am incorrect.

Welcome to the new folks....if you use the "Search This Thread' button just above the first post on any given page, you can look for 'wristband' references to see what I am talking about.

I am literally running out the door...it's DS8's birthday today and he wants me to bring cupcakes to school.
