Sept. 26, 2009 Magic

Hey everyone!!! I can finally start planning on wdw and cruise trip since I had our baby boy. He came on June 14th at 1108pm by c-section because he was 9lb 12oz (he's now 13lb 5oz at his one month appt). Now I'm only 5'1 and there was no way this big boy was coming out any other way. We love him to death and I can't wait to take him on his first Disney cruise. Now I have to lose the baby weight so I can go buy some clothes for this cruise. Bailey is set through. Janie and Jack a baby clothing store has a whole new line of pirate and ship outfits. I swear I almost brought it all just for the cruise.

Looks like I've missed all the deadlines but hopefully we'll find yall at the dismeet at the Sailaway party. Of course we'll be on Bailey time. This will be a cruise like no other that dh and I have been on. We really have no clue what to expect having a little one with us.

Is anyone meeting up before the cruise at WDW? We'll be getting there on the 23rd. It seems like that week is pretty busy at WDW. We've tried for several different ADRs and some we didn't get at all.

And I thought I saw something about Facebook. Did yall set up a group on facebook? Just wondering. I love facebook and its so easy to check on my iphone.

Congratulations on the new baby....cant wait to meet him!! You can still sign up for the FE if you have one and as for the PJ Breakfast, I think I can get you on the list. Just let me know if you want to participate in either one. Be sure to join our group on Facebook....look for it under Disney Cruise Line Sept. 26, 2009 ..... It is nice to be able to put faces with names so maybe we will recognize each other at the SailAway Party!!

Actually they would be really easy to make...and if I put them on neon green heavy duty card stock it would be easy to spot all of us. Maybe if I did one for everyone that could be one of my FE gifts to you all? I would need some type of list with everyones first names on them and cabin number... Let me know what you all think.

I think that is a great idea....It has always been done on the previous cruises I have been on. They have some kind of cute picture relating to the cruise and our DIS name and real name under it. The family members that do not have a DIS name just have the main DISers name and then their rael name under it....

I will PM you with my info....

I think that's an awesome idea. Let us know if you decide to do it & I'll PM you our info.

They do sell them, but they are very expensive. Well, not like huge expensive but at approx $4.50 apiece and with 7 of us..we are talking over $30 for something that we will get for free anyway.. soooo I could just order them for all of you and skip the ones for us. :thumbsup2 Its cool either way. :flower3:

Well if we do them I can base my decision on what is final choice I'll prob get one anyway as i can use it for work id or parking permit.

Lanyards: But I'm still not sure if we are doing them?? Looks like I can buy them from the ship for $6.00. Does that come with a pouch/badge holder? Anyone know? This is our first Disney cruise, so we def aren't getting the freebie.

:)
The one I bought few years back did and had ziplock closure too.

Just checked DCL site.

I can now book a room for our cruise.

Looks like prices for my category are the same or a bit higher.

There were 8 rooms in cat 9 available.
People must be moving to get away from me.

Aren't you glad they are doing that? :goodvibes Some piece and quite, what more could you want? :confused3:laughing:

Same experience here with checking the price (what one simple topic can cause, grin). It's about $200,- more for the 2 of us than when I originally booked. (lowest price out there back then) Not even 10%, which makes me wonder as we also have a cat. 6 like Rebecca. Maybe it's the kids making the difference? :confused3

I just added some pictures of a PJ Breakfast and of St. Thomas and St. John on our Facebook page. I put the PJ Breakfast ones on there for those of you wondering what to wear .... or not to wear!! :rotfl:

You do have to remove the ground transfers and trip insurance from the quotes.

DCL automatically puts them on.

Depending when you booked the prices could actually be lower because the fuel surcharge was removed

Boy...glad I asked about wristbands and lanyards!!

Lanyards: You can take my 2 kiddos off the list. My kids want their own particular lanyard. So if we are doing them, it would just be me and DH. But I'm still not sure if we are doing them?? You can buy them in the terminal but the selection will be limited.
You will also pay tax in the terminal.

If you wait until the evening after we are at sea there will be a larger selection along with no sales tax

OR

EBAY

OR

If you already have a lanyard from pin trading you can probably find a zip lock attachment.

Thanks FatCat. DD and DS are getting exactly what they want from ebay. I love that site. I'll hold off on ours to see what happens as a group.

I just bought DD her Cinderella dress that was a must have for the cruise. She's gonna freak. She loves dressing up. When exactly does this occur for the younger girls? Just whenever they want?

That would be so sweet!!!

Whoa - - hold on a minute!! This is news I hadn't heard -- I thought that June 15th was the date that DCL was going to make the determination about the surcharges and since oil was more than $70/barrel that day, that we weren't getting our surcharges refunded. Could it be true that we will be getting some liquor money as a stateboard credit?? :woohoo:

As usual, my Dear, you are absolutely right - - they are here to help. Once I hear from my TA about the fuel surcharge, I will post it here so we can all be in the know. :goodvibes

Fuel Charge -Hey all, from what I understand, if you booked your cruise and the FC was included, then you will be paying it. If you booked it when the FC was not included, then you will not be paying it. We booked our cruise and then our TA from DU advised us that we could rebook it and have the FC removed or we could wait until we got on the ship and recvd the credit. We decided to rebook and have it removed back in October.

I have read on the main message board that some people have called disney directly and *****ed about it not right that some are paying and some are not and they actually removed the charges for them. HTH!!
