suitcase strategies.

Well I do obey the policy of only putting liquids in my carry on luggage at port.

Having said that it is a VERY LARGE suitcase.

When in Port Canaveral a trip to ABC liquors.
I actually pay more and get the 750ml plastic bottles.
I also get cans of beer vs. bottles. 16oz preferrable.
They weigh less and do not break.

I get enough to last to first Port of Call and then refill.
Western Cruises are great because first stop is Key West and it is easy to load up.

If drinking were a Martial Art FatCat would be an 8th Degree Blackbelt and I would gladly join his Dojo. We should now refer to him as Sensei FatCat

I only learned just 2 days ago reading thru my Passporter that you could bring liquor on board. DH didn't believe me when I told him later on that day and made me scour thru "the book" again to prove it to him.

I'm going a bit nuts with shopping. Just bought autograph book #1. Getting ready to buy autograph book #2. I'm sure they sell them on the ship, but I'd rather just have this stuff ready to go at boarding. Looking for Cinderella dress on ebay now for DD. Bought her a Cinderella pin today. All I have left is my fish extender which the lady who I want to buy mine from is currently on vacation and has removed all of her ebay listings. And I have to buy my FE gifts. But I've honed in on a few things. Looks like buying 35 of whatever it happens to be is a safe number? Did I count that right?

They sell them in the terminal and on board.
The terminal will have a more limited selection and you have to pay sales tax. They will not open the gift shops til later that evening where you do not have to pay sales tax. Normally there will be 1 or 2 characters in the terminal.

Note: Get 8 oz sport cap water bottle.
Apply water to sink
Fill bottle with Rum="special water"
Head to Drink Station on deck 9
Select Mixer
Add "special water"
Watch Football
Repeat visit to Drink Station


Later on after 8oz is gone.
Head to stateroom
put one end of toilet paper in toilet.
unroll rest around the room in a pattern
FLUSH

They are insulated and can hold a WHOLE PINT plus mixer, that way you only have 1 trip to deck 9 for ice and mixer. Word to the wise, DON'T TRY AND DRINK IT ALL IN ONE SITTING, if you do, have your wife film it...

Too funny. Funny and familiar. Nobody else on eBay with the same FE? That's what this impatient one found out. I also was infected with the buy-for-the-cruise-till-you-drop bug. Starting to clear up though, getting myself some energy for the next round.

Me too. But ehm, have your wife film it? Is that out of your own wise experience -read; is there film!?-. In that case, all I can say is; youtube!


I worked on our FE-gifts yesterday. Allready had them in storage, but splitted them up yesterday into the seperate cabins. Had the feeling I wouldn't want to do that while aboard. Boy, was I right!! It took me about 2,5 hours to sort everything out. Now only to make some tags. (Don't worry, while they are not tagged yet, they do have the cabin numbers notations. I'm not crazy, do not want to sort everything out again the next time. )

You must be using the same ebay lady that I am using. She has made me a couple FE in the past. I usually decorate them myself because I use a "theme". I told her to put me on her list and she said I should get it the first part of August.

Got my FE gifts picked out but not put together yet. It is on my to do list....which means it will probably get done at the last minute!!

Oh yeah....please keep me in your thoughts today.....I took my daughters dog to the vet this morning.....Heart worms!!! My daughter is in the Ukraine for another week and I really dont need this dog to die on me while she is gone. The vet is going to do xrays and ultrasound today to see how much damage has been done. It is a toy poodle....10yrs old.....I have never had a dog with heartworms, so this is all new to me. I will keep you posted.

Yeiks Pam, what a lousy timing! I can soo understand you not wanting anything to happen to the dog as long as you're taking care of it. Never mind it not being your fault, feeling doesn't always work like that. Fingers crossed it has a happy ending and will become one of those 'you remember when........'-stories.

Doesn't look good. Vet called and said he is in the end stage of heart worms. He wants to put him on medicine to strengthen him. Surgery can be done but he might not survive. Everything I have been reading about it today and the people I have talked to say that the dog usually dies anyway. Sooo.... do I figure out how to come up with $1800 for a surgery that may not work, or keep him comfortable until ... well you know. I have been crying ever since the vet called. I have always had dogs as long as I can remember....I keep telling myself there will be no more....but I am an animal lover!

Oh Pam, what a not-nice-word piece of news! Good luck with trying to work out what is the best path to follow and informing daugther about it (whether it being now or when she comes back, it can't be a 'great' moment).

My guess is it is tinkerbell waking up in the morning at the magic kingdom. Have not been on this board forever - yes I do go to work some days. Getting excited about the cruise and will read the boards later to get caught up.
