I know its the $64,000.00 question..but with our FE list growing daily I was wondering what most of us have decided to do? Are most of you doing just one big FE per cabin for the week? One small FE per cabin per day? Only doing kids FE's? Just wondering what everyone else is thinking. As my last post stated I had [4months ago] gotten "ALL" my FE gifts thinking how super organized I was But now I am way behind in having enough gifts...So another question would be is there a cut off date? So I know when the final tally will be? NOT trying to not include others that join, just trying to have a game plan. which as the old saying goes... "The best laid plans of man....." Hoping this post dosen't come across all snarky, NOT my intent..just trying to figure things out.

I'm with you here...I do think that we need to institute a cut-off date for peeps joining the FE list. We're actually making our FE gifts so I certainly don't want to be continuing to make them on the eve of our trip when I need to be packing, etc. I do propose that we set a date to close down the various groups...how about June 15th or June 30th? What do you guys think?

Have you guys thought about excursions at all yet? I'm really on the fence. I want to surprise DH with the golfing excursion in St. Thomas but it's very pricey...still, it would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for him, so I think I'm going to do it.

Anyone who's taken the Eastern before have any recommendations about any of the excursions? Our 90 day window is fast approaching!!

We don't know if we'll be doing any excursions on St Thomas or St Maarten. My DD6 would be happy to just stay on the ship with the kids club. But with my DD2 (will be 2 at cruise time), I think we're pretty limited. I sure don't feel comfortable leaving her in Flounders Nursery while we are out perusing the islands! If we do anything we'll probably just walk around by the port. WHere? I don't know...haven't looked into it too much yet

However, on CC, my DH wants us to go parasailing. Anybody have any experience with this...worth the money? And we'll do the snorkeling thing too.

We are doing one FE per person for the week. I agree w/ setting a cut-off date. There is so much involved in planning the FE stuff...definitely can't be doing it at the last minute. I'll go crazy!

I think that the sooner the better. Summer is such a busy time for everyone, so the more FE planning time there is, the better.

I have parasailed on CC and hope to again I had so much fun doing it.

Nop, never done it before. Did see some reviews and pictures and those look promissing. Want to do it myself also.

With regards to the FE-gifts; I'm sticking to one round of gifts. One gift per kid and one gift per group for the adults. Maybe if I feel like it, I'll add some typical dutch eatibles as extra, but I'll let the moment decide on that. I've got the gifts stuffed away, and it almost fills half of my carry on trolley. At which point I've decided enough is enough, I need room for my own stuff also.

For FEs if all goes as planned, I will be doing one main item (adultish) and one or two small kid type items. Most likely I will deliver on one or maybe two days.
As I understand it, KimmySue will be doing a kid friendly goody bag one day.

My kids go to a year round school, which means that I won't start working on FEs until after they go back to school on July 28th. So, I won't weigh in on that cut off date.

I will however say that we will need to have a final wristband number by about the middle of August so that I can get them ordered.

yes it two adults, its actually always been to adults. The person was just unnamed and still kinda is. I'm not sure who I will be bringing my mother or the person I'm kinda talking to. I have time so its no rush.
I actually posted that and then got my bill for the divorce lawyer and about fainted. I thought I was going to have to cancel but I went on the cruise line site and found some cat. 11 still available so I went with that and saved some money. I will not be able to be paid in full at the 90 day mark to make early reservations but I will be able to by the 75 day mark. I'm just not willing to drain my savings by that much without an additional pay check.

Unless I've missed a post, I haven't seen any disagreement with cutting off the FEs on June 15th as well, so do you want to go ahead and add a note that the FEs will be cut off on June 15th as well? Or should we leave that issue open for another couple days before we decide to let others weigh in?

Perfect But I was thinking..what do we do if others join after that date? Do we nicely/gently say sorry? Mabye I will just make a few extras for that very reason. BUT just a couple or else I will drive my self crazy

If others want to join after 6/15 I would think the expectation would be if some of us have extras and are willing to share great, but most likely you won't be getting as much as the majority of the group.

I am not trying to mean, in fact I have typed this three different times trying to not sound 'rude' or have a new person not join the fun just because they didn't find us before June 15th.

I agree with Spectrum-Turbo here. In fact there was a similar thread on the general cruise board. I think that it's perfectly acceptable to say that anyone with extras will include them, but it would probably be best to sneak in a few things themselves for their kids. That way everyone's happy! I know I for one need to order customized gifts so I need a head count prior to ordering, and I can't be waiting until the last minute on the off chance someone will decide to join in later.
