Sept. 26, 2009 Magic

I am not trying to mean, in fact I have typed this three different times trying to not sound 'rude' or have a new person not join the fun just because they didn't find us before June 15th.

I'm thinking about the other side as well. For those who are just booking their cruises and are finding us on The DIS, they probably don't want the stress of a FE exchange. I mean, most of us have had a year's plus time to plan...and some of us still aren't ready. I think that it's perfectly acceptable if people want to join after the June 15th cutoff just to say that the signups are closed.

This is the list I have saved. It is different from the list on page 9. I have several more participating cabins on this list, so I thought I would repost it so we can make sure everything is accurate. :goodvibes

Adults in Green
DS – Dear Sons in blue
DD – Dear Daughters in pink

The other thing we need to think about is when to make a cutoff for people to turn in their cabins for the master list. I think that we should plan on having a "master FE list" 2 weeks before our cruise, wherein everyone's cabins are listed and the list distributed to those participating. The only thing I worry about is whether that's going to be enough time for those who have "guaranteed" cabins to get their staterooms? If staterooms aren't assigned until after you check into the port, how are we going to handle that?

I truly hope that people don't think that I'm trying to be pushy or bossy, but I just want to make sure that we have everything as much in place as possible so the couple weeks before our cruise aren't going crazy with final DIS-stuff because, Lord knows, they are going to be going crazy with other stuff. Let me know what you all think.

Can you all believe that THIS MONTH we can start booking our cruise plans!!!!!!!:cool1::yay::cheer2: It is ridiculous how excited I am!

I have been pondering this as well over the last few weeks and have trying to figure out how to bring it up. Thanks Crystal!! And for the record, I don't think you sound bossy, just realistic.

Having never sailed a gty I don't know when cabin assignments generally go out, but since we always seem to have cruise docs in hand at least two weeks ahead of time that shouldn't be an issue.

Except that:

From reading the main cruise boards there seems to be a lot (for Disney) of upgrades available at the port lately and I am thinking that will still be the case in September. (My category is still pricing out at opening day rates) So, I think that there could still be some movement up until sailing time either via the Upgrade Fairy or Paid Upgrades at check in. What I have been thinking is that we should have one designated cabin door that has a white board for that folks note any last minute cabin changes. I can talk to KimmySue and see if she is willing to 'host' this white board as there really isn't any moving her.

Opinions? Other (possibly less long winded) ideas?

If others want to join after 6/15 I would think the expectation would be if some of us have extras and are willing to share great, but most likely you won't be getting as much as the majority of the group.

I agree. It's not about being mean, but about staying practicle without any of us going nuts. Especially with the big amount of cabins and people participating in our FE-exchange.

Lucky you guys!:woohoo: For us it wont be this month yet, new to cruising and all. I'm already breaking my pretty head on what the best strategy would be for getting the Palo brunch.:headache: We can make our first WDW ADR's this month, though. Oh and let's not forget our Sunrise Safari. :goodvibes

True, that is a possible complication. I'm not holding my breath about us upgrading with an accessible stateroom. But hey! There's still at least one cat 3 accessible stateroom available at the moment, so one can hope. :lmao:

I think having one 'gathering point' for information that changes last minute is a smart move. A whiteboard on a designated door sure doesn't sound bad, if you ask me!

On the planning department; we've just recieved our next flight change. This darned economy sure is having it's impact! Our itinerary has been changed like 9 or 10 times by now. Let's see how long it takes for the next change to appear.

Sounds good to me! :thumbsup2

Hi, please forgive me if I'm signing up incorrectly. I'm hoping to sign my family up for the FE exchange. We're in cabin 5022 - Me, DH Mike, DS Seamus (3), DD (due any day now...). Please let me know if there is another way to sign up - looking forward to seeing you all on the cruise!

First off; :welcome:

And then on to business. Right now, for the Secret Mickey I've got signed up;

- Disney Sweetie
- Crystal27
- Sftnslky
- BananasTwo
- Maggie62677
- Fire14
- Goofieslonglostsis

Anybody missing themselves on the list or wishing to participate? Just sent me a PM and I'll add you to the list. :goodvibes We'll also still have to set a spending limit, so those wanting to speak out about that, be welcome to do so here or through a PM. And of course; all have got until June 15th to sent any possible info they want to pass along to their SM, for instance about favorite caractres, likes and dislikes etc. And than, on June 16th, I'll sent those participating a PM with the info they need to start preparing. :thumbsup2

Have I by any chance sent you my likes/dislikes list? I know that I meant to when I first signed up, but it's been so long since I signed up for Secret Mickey that I just don't remember. :confused3 As for a spending limit, what about a maximum of $30 for all three? four? gifts?? Too much/too little/just right?

p.s. I finally added the Fairy installment to my TR - - enjoy!! :goodvibes

Grin, I can understand you not remembering after such a long time. I know I wouldn't have! ;) But nop, you haven't yet. Spending limit is noted! I'm not judging folks on it. As we tend to say in dutch; I can not see what is in anothers pocketbook. That's one of the big things why I mentioned welcoming people speaking out about it, I would hate to not pick a realistic spending limit for ALL participating.

Thanks for the heads up, by the way. I'll check it out later today, shouldn't even be here to start with. Too busy with work and other stuff. Oh well, can't complain I guess after yet another public holiday yesterday.

well I took the plunge and actually registered on the boards. Not a lurker anymore. Looking forward to cruising with our freinds. Maleficent Esq. but please don't hold that against me.

Welcome!!!! And congrats on your DD! Can you post her name after she's arrived so we can leave her something in the FE?:banana:

Welcome to you too! September can't get here fast enough!:goodvibes

Welcome! :welcome: Be warned though; the DIS is more addictive when no longer lurking. :thumbsup2

Bottle of Patron Duty Free is $35

You know the drill; sent me a PM if you want to add it to your list of likes. Just in case whomever becomes your SM happened to miss this specific like of yours. :lmao:

I just did a :yay: myself! Recieved a postcard from DCL, thinking it would be for our upcoming cruise in September. But, nop! It was from inventory control. After finding out the Wonder will be going to the Westcoast in 2011, I decided to take a shot. So I sent IC a fax, requesting to be waitlisted for the repo when going to the Westcoast for an accessible cabin. Now, this was for a regular cabin not concierge. I know they normally only accept those request, so wasn't holding my breath AT ALL. Read that some others were also succesfull (apparently also DCL is feeling the economy), but it's a long shot. Actually forgot about sending it in. And today; a postcard. My request is honoured, I'm on the waitlist! :cool1::woohoo::yay::cheer2: The 2010 WB transatlantic will probably come a bit to early for me to make it work financially :headache: but now with this news it sure eases things!

Welcome, welcome!! You're in very good company and we solemnly swear that what happens on the cruise stays on the cruise! :lmao:

I just made our final payment!!!:yay::yay::yay:

Now just counting down the days until I can book Palo, spa, kids club! The cruise is getting so close! Eeeeeek! So much to do, so much to do...:scared1:
