Disney Sweetie- 2 Adults
BananasTwo 2 Adults, 2 kids
Ebony - 2 Adults
Paul 2003- 4 Adults
KimmySue- 3 Adults, 4 kids
Fourgonefisin 3 Adults, 2 Kids
Spectram-Turbo- 4 Adults, 4 Kids

Anyone Else?

Can you change mine to 4 adults....pretty please!! :goodvibes

Arcade on the ship: What's the deal with the arcade and tokens? My 5 year old will definitely want to hit that up. Is it quarters, tokens, can you buy a package?? Are adults allowed in that area.

TIA!!

That would be Quarter Masters Arcade and yes adults are welcome...you can buy debt cards for the kids in $10, $15 or $20 incriments. I also read where the Kids clubs now have wii game systems, plus there are computer games for the kids to play with at no charge....we have been on 8 cruises and have yet to step into the arcade....

The debit cards appear to be similiar to the ones used in the hotel arcades. I never did get confirmation if you can use them in both places. I doubt it though.

I do remember reading the sign and the amount of credits you get for a dollar was not really good.

I told my kids that it was not a good deal as I was ordering a umbrella drink with lack of umbrella. This also has always puzzled me. Disney does not like drink umbrellas.

So our last cruise someone bought like 250 from Oriental Trading and we made do.

Well this will be my 4th Disney cruise and my bucket list is getting shorter..

Knocked off a lot last cruise BUT....

I have still NEVER

been to the workout room
"ran" a lap around deck 4
done a castaway cay excursion
been to the adult beach
eaten a non dinner meal in Lumiere's ( I did do take out)
Palo
Spa
Vegetable racing
won the grand prize bingo
seen a sunrise
sung karaoke
bought art (I have partaken in the free martini's)
paid for coffee in the quiet cove
ordered breakfast room service
been in the stack
seen the new 8-10 yr old bridge simultation
played an arcade game

BEEN UPGRADED!!!!!

DCL does not want you to poke yourself in the eye and then try and sue them:rotfl:  After a "few" umbrella drinks, one may not be able to judge how close they really are...:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

I'm not speaking from experienc, hic-up.... They went thaty way occifer...

OK, I find this one hard to believe...this from a man who drops more "hints" about his favorite Tequila.:rotfl:

Tequila makes most people think they can sing...

BananasTwo: He is actually a Gordon Setter named Pendleton. He looks a lot like a cocker when he's sitting plus thats an old pic. Sometimes I wish he was a cocker, he'd be much better in the temperment department. He's a handful that is very vocal about what he wants. He wants what he wants and expects to get in right then. I'm trying to break him of that habit but he is so stubborn. :confused3
I love cockers. we had one when I was a kid that was the best dog> She ultimately went to live with my grandmother who had alzheimers and Dusty was the best companion for her.

If whoever is doing the wristbands or laynards put us down for 5. three for adults and two for kids. This is getting to be an exciting discussio n for us. Can't wait.:woohoo:

My kids liked the arcade on our last cruise. I found it to be pretty small as arcades go. The older two had charging privileges so they could us their Key to the World card to get the little debt cards. It's pretty pricey per game; my oldest charged $50 before I knew it.

Thanks, we would love to link dining:grouphug: ...there are alot of 8 yr. old boys on this trip, but none with late dining. I wonder how many CM in the Club will need counseling when we leave the ship?:rotfl: :scared:

I will call DCL when we get closer and make the arrangements for the dining, I don't think we can do it this far out....

We have 8 year old twin boys and we asked for late dining..since we are from Caifornia..because of the time diffrence we didn't want to feel like we were eating dinner at 3pm. :rotfl2:

We are super close to paying off our cruise :cheer2: :cheer2: but before it is totally paid off we want to purchase travel insurance :upsidedow ...especially since we will be traveling during the height of hurricane season  and since we will be flying across the country. How many of you purchase insurance and if you do which company would you recommend.?? Thanks in advance :thumbsup2

I may have missed this somewhere, but is anyone taking down the names of the ones that would like to link up dining with other DISers?

DCL insurance? I was told by MANY, MANY folks on the main boards to NEVER get DCL insurance that they charge 3-5 times more then most other insurance companies..and they also do not offer a free kids insurance program :confused3 But I will check out Travel Insured :thumbsup2 Thanks for the tip. :flower3:

Not that I'm aware of...I know, I know, I throw something out like this and I should be taking names:headache: There have only been a couple of families respond to the idea. One question, how close or how far out can we request linked dining? I see where you are a TA, I thought you might know...:surfweb: If not, I will call DCL and find out. We need to find out how many can sit at one table :teacher: and go from there...I can spear head this if everyone likes...

Here are a few that have expressed interest:

Kborn (2) adults (1) kid - Late
Sftnslky (7)
hal001 (3) adults (2) kids - late
Fire14 (3) adults
goofieslonglastsis (2) adults
BananasTwo (4) - early
aristocats Lover (2) adults - early

Just PM me, and I will add/update the list

Insurance.

I have done a lot of research on this. This post is to breakdown the components of insurance which is typically sold as a policy that includes many things.

There is basically two main things that can be insured.

Trip Cancellation - For most policies the Trip Cancellation is the most expensive part. This means for a insured reason you cancel your trip and you get a cash payment.

Trip Interruption - For most polioies this will cover issues while you are cruising. From simple health issues to extreme evacuation.

Keep in mind depending on your risk aversion you may only want to buy certain pieces.

In general with Trip Cancellation you insure a certain dollar amount to include, cruise, air, excursions, lodging etc. You then also pay a premium for pre-existing condition waiver. So if for example if you have a immediate relative with a known condition an event to trigger trip cancellation would be covered.

You can save a lot on insurance if you give up the trip cancellation piece.
So in case sh$%t you potentially lose all or part of your non refundable expenses.

You can then just insure yourself for things that may happen while on board.
This may fall into the category for people who say I do not want to pay 10% of my overall cost in insurance as the amount is high but want some level of coverage for extreme conditions in case I get sick or need to be evacuated etc.

Just a few thoughts when reviewing policies.

Also keep in mind when pricing out trip cancellation that they are priced on a schedule. So insuring for 4500 dollars may cost the same as insuring for 4900.

Rebecca, kudos on almost having the cruise paid off! That's such a great feeling. :)

Can't help much with regards to the trip insurance. I get insurance each time I travel but are not up to par AT ALL about anything related to US insurance companies. Getting trip insurance is pretty standard in our little corner of the world and I must say; I wouldn't feel safe to travel without. Accidents can happen like that, things can get damaged, sickness can knock on your door etc. Thankfully, in our case all of the possible insurances do cover pre-excisting conditions which makes it a lot easier.

When staying inside the US, it might be a different story for you guys but now with the cruise I would definately get some trip insurance to cover at least the possible medical stuff, evacuation and costs that might occure because of the weather acting up and the ship getting diverted or something.

No real big news here. Well, except playing with the idea of maybe sqeezing in a quick WDW trip in May. That is, if my agenda doesn't interfere and I can ever decide to go either the week before Memorial Day or during and which resort to stay at.

Typically this is how I handle my transaction. (Works for me anyways)

I buy a cruise on board to get the 10% off the commisionable price of the cruise and $200 on board credit with my Disney Visa card to get points and 0.0% APR for 6 months.

Then I pay that off in 6 months.

At 90 days prior to sail(75 for non castaway cay) I pay off balance of cruise again with my Disney Visa to get 0.0% APR for 6 months.

75/90 days mark the earliest time once paid in full you can book excursions. And 75 days out marks the final payment of cruise due without penalty.

Within 24 hours of my final payment I book insurance with www.insuremytrip.com . Typically I get the CNA freestyleluxe as it carries the pre-exisiting condition waiver. I have had another party make a claim to them and it was a very easy process.

**Note the 24 hour within final payment is requirement of the insurance.
I do not buy insurance while I have the still have the option to move or cancel my cruise 75 days out.

This is just my my method. Works for me.
