We are super close to paying off our cruise :cheer2: :cheer2: but before it is totally paid off we want to purchase travel insurance :upsidedow ...especially since we will be traveling during the height of hurricane season  and since we will be flying across the country. How many of you purchase insurance and if you do which company would you recommend.?? Thanks in advance :thumbsup2

We had to use Disney Insurance in 2004 when my mother had a stroke just before we were about to set sail. We could not have been HAPPIER with the Disney Insurance. We have used this insurance with all 6 of my cruises.

So jealous of those of you who are paid off!:worship: We are hoping to get some tax return $$ and give that to DCL. We may wait till the last minute tho: DS8 knows that if he doesn't kick butt in 2nd grade, then there will be no pirate: :sail: :boat: at the beginning of 3rd grade.

Does anyone have a DS near 8 or a DD near 5 who would like to get to know each other better b4 the cruise:chat: ? (There is a kids board for this cruise but its primarily for the older kids it seems.) In the past I have allowed them to email a couple of kids to see if there are similar interests, send pix, become "real life friends" on some of the social networking sites (like pixiehollow or club penguin...) - that kind of thing. knowing a couple of names before they get on the boat seems to take some of the :scared1: out of it and gives them an outlet for some of their:yay: . Just pm me.

kborn: thanks for reading up on DD's website. She is our hero! Glad to hear you are free n clear! :thumbsup2 Its fine to spread the website around...the more prayers the better. Once your child has been diagnosed with cancer, it never seems to be over - we will always worry about relapse.

gotta go - will check back tonite when i get to work:surfweb:

Hello Fellow Cruisers,
Yes, I have finally decided to keep this as our cruise date. My family, at least most of them, wil be on this cruise (me-43 (Pam),DH-44(Nick),DD-17(Haley),DD-10(Allie),DS-8(Davis),Mother. This was suppose to be my fathers birthday cruise, but sadly he passed away on Jan. 20th. I have debated whether to change dates or not? But we have planned this cruise with five other families and he would not want us to change. He began taking my sister and me to Disney when we were very small. Let's just say I remember staying in Disney when it was only the Contemporary and the Poly. and you had tickets to get on the rides A thru F (if my memory serves me correctly). Of course Space Mountain was an F. He had a friend who was an orginal architect and he gave us his golden key passes. Those were the good days. Until I got married we spent every Christmas in Disney, so he would not want it any other way but for us to go. He loved DCL and he will be there in spirit. So much for my story...we are glad to be sailing with you guys. We want to be part of the FE, I enjoy that so much. I own an embroidery store, and love the creative part. It is snowing here and boy am I counting the days, until the sunshine.

Look forward to meeting each of you.

Pam

Welcome...Sorry to hear about your father, he sounds like a 'TRUE' Disney Fan. I said sounds, not sounded, because I believe he will be with your family 'in Spirit' on this cruise....

Hello! I've been lurking around here for a while now. Me (28) and my son (4) are very excited to be joining you on our very 1st cruise! I'm a single mom and am kind of nervous to be travelling alone with my son for the first time but I think that the Disney cruise will be the perfect vacation for us.

Looking forward to getting to know you and counting down the days until we sail!

:welcome: We are all looking forward to meeting you and your son in September. There are lots of activities planned. You can see a list on page 1 and 9. Let me know your sons name, your cabin number and if you will be participating in the fish extender. I will then update the roster on page 9.

Well I pulled the trigger the other day an bought my flights.
Got $89 each way on AirTran.

The best I have ever seen this route is $77.

But I wanted to lock in the afternoon flights which work out better for us.

I am a little pissed at them because they stopped their policy of offering price match credit if the ticket goes lower.

Oh Well. I really do not want to drive

Wow...that is a great fare. I just looked at it for us and it would be $188pp roundtrip.....not bad. I was trying to hold out for Southwest so I could get a non-stop out of New Orleans. They usually have really good fares, but I am not sure if it will beat this AirTran. Decisions, decisions!!:rotfl:

To each their own but I'm a Southwest Air girl. Just remember when pricing your fare that Air tran charges for first and 2nd bags, where as bags fly free on SWA.

Yes..that is a number 1 deciding factor...no baggage fees, and IF I had to cancel, I would pay no change fees! I always fly Southwest and love the fact that it is a nonstop flight from here....so I am more than likely waiting for the new schedules to come out.

Yeah I know about baggage.
Southwest unfortunately does not work for me.

Their route is not as convienant for me.
Also they are one of the few airlines that still serve peanuts which I try to avoid.
They also do not serve Patron as their house Tequila

Well, things got a little iffy there for a bit. We thought we might have to forego the cruise for a business I'm trying to start. Ultimately, we figured a way to make it work, so I booked the airfare to force a little more mental commitment on my part. Boy, I would've hated to tell the girls it's off. :sad2:

Hal001,
My DD 10 is on the kids board, but my DD5 would probably love to have a pre-established friend to meet also.

Here's to no more close calls!

Adam

I have a question regarding the dining rotation. When I booked the only thing that was available was the 2nd Dining Rotation. I just think that by the time 8 comes my son (4) will be tired and we won't be able to enjoy the dining experiences. Do you know if DCL will change it? If so, when is the best time to ask?

The only thing I know that you can do is upon arrival on boat go direct to where ever dining rotation changes are being taken ( rockin D bar?) and request a change/ to be put on waiting list.

Make sure that you are wait listed for the early rotation and then when you get onboard (the earlier the better) go to Rockin D Bar and ask to get switched. We had no problem doing that when we sailed in 2007. Since we knew that we wanted to make the change, we made sure to get to the port by 10:00 so that we were among the first to board.
