Sept. 26, 2009 Magic

I personally love my airwick air freshener with nightlight
I just keep cover to bring scent back home

that will take a few things off my list..and hopefully ease some of my stress, well that and a big

WHEW - - it definitely sounds busy, busy in your neck of the woods. Hang in there - - you'll get it all done!!

Now, if the latter is because of my clumsy attempt to make a costume or the costume theme in itself.......... who knows!? :confused3:rotfl::lmao:

DARN IT - I can't believe I'm missing it!! Do you maybe want to do a costume repeat on Pirate Night? :rotfl2:

Nighttime Meetup -Did we decide if we were going to meet in one of the clubs one night on the cruise?

I'd love to do that. Count me in!!

:thumbsup2

Well everyone....I know you will miss me :lmao:.....but I am out of here! Wedding is Saturday and I have a busy Friday ahead of me. My sister from Florida has arrived and brother-in-law from Alabama is here. Rest of family from South Carolina will arrive tomorrow.

Have a great Labor Day weekend and I will talk to you all next week! Not much longer till we will all be on the Magic!!!

Awwwww, we expect full details (and maybe pictures?) when you have time to post. ((((HUGS)))

I just dread that we will be the family that others RUN off the plane talking about. :scared1: espically after 7 1/2 hours. :rotfl:

I don't envy you one bit with that flight. That said, we drive down, and DD is in the car for about 7-8 hours and she actually does just fine. Between the DS and the Ipod, we do okay. :thumbsup2

Great news for me, I can fit all my clothes in ONE/UNO Duffel Bag!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:Wondering how? Bought Packing Cubes from Ebags.com. One happy cruiser! Almost packed/trial.

Ooooooo, that's very cool!! Great tip.

I ended up ordering the pillowcases. Figured this will be our first Disney cruise of many, so will do the frame thing next time. I had "gradysmommy" make them since she was already doing my FE. She's doing an Ariel embroidery and a Star Wars Mickey embroidery and they will say, respectively, Paige's magical dreams begin here; and Corbin's magical dreams begin here! I think my kids will like it.

Awwwww, the pillowcases are going to be such a great keepsake. Great idea!!

Pam, how are you hanging in there? Fingers crossed for some great weather tomorrow!

Crystal; no way jose for a repeat! Maybe you'll get to see some pics or even tape, but you'll have to do with that. Oh, and of course the media coverage it'll draw. :rolleyes1

Jacq: wish I wasn't missing it. :( Come on...save a few pics to share with us. After all, you can say, "I'll never see these people again anyway." ;)

Crystal: Did you tell the teacher yet? How is Ansley adjusting. Monday and Tuesday were good around here but Wednesday night the tears began. He was so overtired. Thankfully he didn't realize that is why he was crying at the drop of a ht. More of the same yesterday and today. Thank goodness for two 4 day weeks. Corbin is off today and Monday of course. Then nothing like getting into a routine just to yank him out for 8 days of school to go on vacation. Ack!! Oh well, I know it will be worth it. I'm totally feeling guilty about it all...just hand me a drink as soon as I get on the ship and I'm sure I'll be fine.

Well, we got the forms back from Corbin's school regarding vacation. APPROVED. But in huge letters written by the assistant principal...ONE TIME EXCEPTION ONLY!!! Haaaa. I feel like I'm being scolded. She also highlighted and re-highlighted on the back that educational trips are to be no more than 5 days. Corbin will be out 8. Oh well. It's only kindergarten right. I did make a vacation journal with 10 pages that he has to complete while we are away. I made it myself and just did stuff like adding a map of the US on the page and writing, "Color in and name all of the states that we will be in on the day we take our flight (PA, NJ, and FL). Another page says, "Find 10 seashells and use them to answer these 8 math problems (2+3, 4+2, etc). Another shows a map of the world. And asks him to have mom help you circle the countries of some of the people you meet on the ship. Then tell us who came from the farthest place from PA. I'm hoping either Jacq or our waiters can sign that page. :) Anyway, the teacher liked it. The principal requires him to keep a written journal and since he is in kindergarten, that wouldn't work. They say that otherwise they would have to give an oral account of the trip. Uhhhh no way. My kid comes home from one day of kindy and can't tell me crap that he did...let alone a 10 day vacation.

Lastly, a big  :cool1: :yay: :woohoo: for me. No, not my docs. But I got my FE and pillowcases from Tiffany today. FREAKIN' AWESOME!!! She did such a great job. I adore the pillowcases and so glad I did them with her. And the FE is so stinkin' cute. I'm so excited. AHHHHHHH

Sorry so long. I'm sure I've bored you all.

Jacq: wish I wasn't missing it. :( Come on...save a few pics to share with us. After all, you can say, "I'll never see these people again anyway." ;)

Don't know if I want to run that risk. With our WDW and DCL love? Big enough chance of running into our group folks again.

Congrats! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Just convince yourself the teacher has a highlighter obsession. She can't help herself. It's just like you and Disney. :lmao:

Sounds like you are doing great with the home work for Corbin. Consider it signed, no problem. Heck, we can even teach him some Dutch. We'll show teacher and principal why DCL is educational. :rotfl:

You are making me curious about the pillow cases, what did you have made?

Got my cruise documents today!!:cool1: Just checked the mail and received some gift cards and a check for surveys I did. Now it is time to go shopping!!

Our doc's have arrived.:cool1: We look forward to meeting some new friends and some old friends from our last cruise. You too Fat Cat. We leave for the World in just over a week from now. Can't wait. We have a brunch reservation and will be trying the jet ski on castaway cay. See you all at the port, plan to be arriving at 10 am. :cool1:

I'll take a picture of the pillowcases (that I guess I leave with guest services you guys said and sharpies for the characters to sign with) and post here ASAP.

And cool on the Dutch!!!

Happy Labor Day weekend for those that celebrate.

Just Paige's pillowcase and a closeup of the embroidery. Sorry so big. I tried to make smaller, but clearly it didn't work.

NO DOCS TODAY!! :(

Ana, it's just the right size if you ask me! No stretching of the page and not too small so we can't see the details. They are adorable.

No prob. with the Dutch. It is one of the most difficult languages to learn so no teacher can tell any kid they didn't do their best if they can speak any word in Dutch. :thumbsup2:rotfl2::lmao: Besides, it's oh so educational. How many parents can say they had their kids speak some 'native' tongue* after a trip? He's already got the one of St. John down. And apparantly the Bahama's have no official language, so that one has also been covered. :rotfl2::lmao:

*Dutch is spoken and an official language on St. Maarten, but it's not the original language.

That's great that you got the approval for Corbin...although I can't believe you had the cojones to say it was an educational trip. My hero. :worship:  And, for what it's worth, he'll adjust in no time at all!!! Hang in there, Hon, both of you!

I'm telling Ansley's teacher about the cruise on Tuesday, and will be giving the front office my official correspondence on the matter on Tuesday as well.

Ansley is adjusting pretty well at school, but she has gotten in trouble a couple of times for talking and *always* wanting to be the one to do stuff for the teacher. You know, typical only-child-syndrome stuff. She thinks that she is the center of the universe and can do whatever she wants to do whenever she wants to without regard to what anyone else wants or feels. So, every single day, we have to try and reinforce that she's not (as a matter of fact) the center of the universe and that she has to let the other children participate, and we have to assure Ansley that (despite what she may believe), the other students deserve a chance to share their knowledge with the teacher as well. It's almost heartbreaking because Ansley really is bewildered at not being praised for being the one to help (I guess in preschool there weren't many volunteers to help), but Randy and I have to stay strong on this issue and continue to wilt her self-esteem as best we can. :rotfl:

AND, Paige's pillowcase is adorable - - great, great idea!!

Thats great news!!!! Our turn next for approval, but if we dont get it approved - oh well - We're still going!!!!! :cool1:

Congrats on the FE and pillowcase!!! :woohoo:

Poor FatCat - - you just can't catch a break. :rotfl2: Maybe you can get the CMs at the front desk drunk and maybe they'll upgrade you to the Walt Suite. :thumbsup2

Oh Crystal - :scared1: - like he needs the encouragement :lmao: :rotfl:
but who knows it may work !!!!!!

QUESTION:confused3 So I don't miss anything like I did last year. I need a list of the fun stuff we will be doing during the week. I know Sun. 27th is the cabin tours @ 3:00pm (meet at cabin 5509) and the P.J. breakfast is Fri. Oct. 2nd at Lumiere's 7-8 am. Is there a meeting place Sat. the 26th besides the terminal? I may not get there till about 1-2 pm.

Man I hope our doc's come on SAt. as there is NO MAIL on Monday!:guilty:
On a good note our fish extender is complete!:cool1: Still don't know exactly what I'm going to do with the suit coat.

I've never done cruise chat, maybe I'll drop in and see how it is.

Well, I emailed Hannah's teacher :teacher: today regarding vacation. She said at the beginning of the year that she prefers email b/c it's easier and quicker to respond, but she also is fine with notes. I just wanted to make sure that she would get the message, hence the email. So I basically told her when Hannah was going to be out and when she would be back. I also told her that I wanted to give her plenty of notice so that she can get any assignments/homework together for her to complete while we are on vacation. I stressed how important it was for us to make sure she stayed caught up with the class. Then I asked her if I needed to send in a formal letter to her or the office and to please let me know if there was anything else she needed from me, etc.

Of course, I didn't tell her that we were going on a Disney Cruise. :rolleyes1 However, Hannah has told everybody in her class already, including her teacher, that she was going. So I don't think her teacher was shocked.

So this is the response I get from her:

Thank you! I will get together as much as I can for her so she will stay caught up. I will forward this to the office so they are aware. Thank you and enjoy your vacation!!

Woohoo!!!!! :woohoo::woohoo:
