Sept. 26, 2009 Magic

Haven't received any calls yet. However, I'm hoping that FL resident rates come out soon for our cruise. They are out for 9/19. If the discount is good, we may upgrade to a balcony. :cool2:

Did you see the one gal that posted she had paid for a 12 gty and found out she recvd cat 11 on deck 6. She then went on to say "We did get offered a couple days ago to upgrade to cat 9 rooms for $150 per room, but turned it down.
We still might ask about upgrades once we get to port to see if they can still offer a cat 9, but for less. "

WOW...I guess someone else got some pixie dust that she didnt want.

I hope that the upgrades weren't available at port...some people :sad2:

I believe your TA

From what I've read here on the DIS, I second this.

Really wish disneystore.com would get on the ball and put up the Halloween costumes. I need to get one for Bailey for the MNSSHP. I'm hoping to get mickey mouse costume but we'll see what other cute baby ones they have.

Check out Ebay! There are multiple sellers on there that sell Disney originals, maybe you run into something nice. (been looking for an Elisabeth Swann costume for myself, but opted not to with the luggage and all)

Not that I'd want to move away from you or anything...:rotfl2:

Keep saying that, keep saying that. If FatCat smells any fears, no telling what he might do. For all you know he'll not let you share a drink. :scared1::eek:

And now as the saying goes; to all a good night! I'm off to bed, so please behave yourselves tonight peops! :littleangel::upsidedow

I'm so excited...I've ordered a Little Orphan Annie Secret Decoder ring that should be arriving any day now. Then I can read Crystal and Jacqs posts and know what in the world they are talking about. :rotfl: I'm just jealous because you guys have this secret language all about WDW that me as a newbie is totally clueless about. You two will be my jedi masters and teach me I hope!!

Ana - here's the secret--- You'll need to go back to the main Dis page (home) look for the tab that says Welcome to DIS(very top)...select and on the 7th sticky down select - A list of common abbrevations. Wa-lla (there you have it) :woohoo:

HTH, Sonia (now go and get your money back )

Anyone get called by Disney Cruise Line offering a pay for upgrade yet?

Word on the street Disney is doing this now.

Wondering if the time frame has hit our cruise yet.

Grrrr...that would suck considering I just paid a lot more than that for our upgrade. I'm not going to mention this to DH. I'm just sooooooo excited to have a verandah. Don't care what we had to pay to do it. I'm working so many extra days before then, that it's covered. Next time I know not to bother even booking a cruise unless it's the room we want.

Anyone know if Gradysmommy is back? No new listings on ebay yet. And I hate to email her and be a pest. I have my email ready to go with my FE specs. Just have to click send when I know she is back. Anyone deal with her privately versus going through ebay?

If I missed any thing that I should really be paying alot of attention to. You see this is the first time I have been on my computer since a few hours after I sent my last post to you all. Kaleb had been complaining about a stomach  ache since over the weekend. I kept giving him Pepot Bismol and some tummy medicine to make him use the rest room. Well on Monday morning he was :sad1: crying in pain and just not looking good..so I called his Dr. and she told me to bring him in.... 5 hours later we were heading to the hospital to get a second opinion from a pediatric surgeon. At 11:30 PM Kaleb was heading into appendectomy surgery..his appendix was close to bursting. I am hoping that we will get to go home tomorrow. It has been a VERY long week.. with Earl having to still work, having Jennah watch the other two kids so I can stay at the hospital 24/7 My last phone call from Earl he said "Oh babe by the way..when you come home..just don't look at the house" :scared1: UUUUUUUGGGGGGGG pirate:pirate:are you friggen kidding me? So basically when I left we were all on page 139 I think? So just fill me in if you could :thumbsup2

Loved all the acronym posts!!! I think you should give me a pop quiz on the cruise. :teacher:

Someone asked several days ago about dressing up for pirate night. I bought costumes for all of us. Whether or not I feel like wearing it will depend on the night. I swear, if I'm the only adult dressed up, I may feel like a dork. Does anyone even use the word dork anymore!?!?!?!

I went looking for smileys and realized that a previous post of mine to Crystal and Jacq SHOULD have included the following. I missed them at the time. I swear they have one for everything. "Jedi Masters"... :yoda::darth::chewy::ewok:

Look what I found for your DH

Tonga Toast

Ingredients:
2 or 4 slices sourdough bread, (cut 1 to 1 1/2 inches thick)
1 banana
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
oil or shortening for frying
whipped butter and/or syrup

Instructions:

Cut a 1 inch pocket in one side of each bread slice. Cut banana in half crosswise, then split each piece lengthwise. Remove peel and stuff 2 pieces of fruit in each pocket of bread; set aside.

Mix sugar and cinnamon; set aside.

Mix well the egg, milk and vanilla.

Heat about 4 inches of oil in a pan to 350 degrees F. Dip stuffed bread into egg/milk mixture and let it soak a few seconds to penetrate bread. Fry bread on both sides in hot oil until lightly browned, about 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels or wire rack. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and serve.

I have yet to have this ... so is it even close??? I just may have to try it.

Oh Rebbecca, what an ordeal. I hope you are able to get everyone under the same roof tomorrow!!

The highlights for the last few pages are (in no particular order):
  • FatCat is organizing a Flip Flop swap so that we each end up with a pair that has a bottle opener embedded in one shoe and a flask in the other.
  • We recalled that Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off
  • Fire14 announced Final Call for PJ B-fast (I didn't see your name on the list)
  • Laundry Room now takes KTTW Cards
  • We are considering removing the date from the wristbands and replacing it with our former tag line (see page 10) "Capturing the Caribbean"
  • Decoder rings were ordered and then said orders were canceled
  • DVC, Strollers and WDW dining plans were discussed
  • No One has been contacted my DCL re: inexpensive paid upgrades

Oh yeah and as of tomorrow we will only have 50 days until our cruise :cool1:

Hello Everyone! I am new to this board, and wanted to say hello! Our family just booked this cruise last week. We are Clint, Codi, Amalie (12), Analiese (10) and Johnny (7). It looks like we are going to sail with a great group!

Sonia...you have me cracking up lately!!! Love the run down. Can you do one of those Cliff Note updates every few days!! :rotfl2:

Welcome CLB!!

All: Whether you hate them or not, I posted a "Getting to know you" questionnaire on the FB page. Feel free to get to know me then respond. Special instructions for FatCat also noted. :rolleyes1

Off to sleep...

Welcome aboard! Be sure you know what you are getting yourself into with this group, though. :rotfl2:

Didn't think question 50 is a question, but more of a statement.

Awwwww, Hon, I'm so so sorry!! I hope that your sweet little guy is feeling better today, and that things are slowing down to a more normal pace at home.

See, Ana, you're already showing us more seasoned DISsers up already! :rotfl:

Look what I found for your DH

Tonga Toast

Sonia

Geeze, Hon, you're sure assuming a lot...like the fact that I can even cook. :rotfl2:

Seriously, though, that recipe sounds like that's the "real deal." Although I will tell you that DH and I tried to make the "cream cheese stuffed french toast" that they serve at CRT for breakfast, and it was a miserable, miserable failure. However, the cream cheese mashed potatos that they serve at LeCellier have become *the* way that we make our mashed potatos in our household. They are so good and creamy and perfect. I'll convince DH (who is the "chef" in our house) to try the recipe and I'll post a full report. And, thank you for running this down!! :goodvibes

:cool2:

Now, THIS, I think I can manage. It must mean that I drink too much because I am a superstar at mixing drinks. :lmao:
