This is a photo of Trevor and I taken in Skagway on the first Wonder Alaskan cruise. We weren't on the cruise, just drove there to get our Disney fix while waiting for this cruise :goodvibes

Janice

That is such a great photo. How cool to visit the Wonder in your neck of the woods.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding!!!! :goodvibes

What two excursions were cancelled? I haven't received anything so I am hoping it isn't something we were signed up for too.

Salsa and Salsa is what I was going to sign up for when our ship was going to Mazatlan!!! It looked amazing! I might do this on our second (short) Cabo day (assuming it is available). Have you seen their website? Looks like a blast

I will be bringing a bottle of rum... in hopes of hanging out with Captain Jack.

Thanks for the wedding wishes!! :bride: Only a few more days!! I keep stalking our honeymoon registry. :surfweb:
We were going to do the beach buggy one and the sea of cortez snorkel experience ...but I am super excited to replace with the salsa and salsa! I am latina and Robb is a white boy who needs a lesson,:dancer: <---- :lmao: so I am soo excited for this! Plus I love margaritas and guac!! BUT is there something I am missing as far as it being the long cabo day? Im a new cruiser, so I would love to know the ins and outs...

Can't wait to see you all on board! I will be the one with a fruity cocktail in hand and the big "finally" smile on my face. :cloud9:

I will be with one too!!:woohoo:

ETA: We need to stalk the people on the repo cruise before us to see what happened on the dry dock! Hopefully one of them will post live from the cruise. I won't have my laptop with me but I am planning on checking in on my iPhone... if anyone wants to volunteer for said stalking position... it would be appreciated. It is doable on my phone but not ideal. Though I am willing to give it a shot!

Direct me where to stalk!!:rotfl2:

So cool, I just noticed the boat in the background!!

(Sorry for the post after post, but I wanted to post a photo but needed 10 posts first, so I needed to break up my original post)

So heres a bunch of pictures of us :)

Couple of our "engagement" shots (even though we are legally married) LOL

Hi Christy! No need to join the FE to hang out in this thread. Who is traveling with you? I will be traveling with my DS10... we live pretty close to the middle of SF and LA on the central coast.

Just wanted to pop in & say hi :goodvibes

So excited that we're only 2 1/2 weeks away! I'm not participating in the FE, but reading all of your posts is making me even more excited about our cruise! I'm looking forward to see what the dry dock will bring us!

Christy323 as someone already said no need to be in the FE to be on the thread. If you are interested though there is going to be a meet up to put faces to names at 3.05pm on the Promenade Deck before we leave if you are interested.

ANYONE PLEASE LET ME KNOW THE BEST PLACE FOR US TO MEET. I need to put this info out there are the first couple of you leave in the next few days.

sigrid

cute pics jessica!!

so I have a maybe dumb qs --

are we the only FE exchange on the whole ship ? or there will be other groups from maybe other boards? seems like disboards are the main site tho.. just curious.

so Promenade is Deck 3 (i think). Looks like they have a Promenade Lounge, on left side, which has an internet cafe :surfweb: - I'm trying to think of a place that won't be crowded like anything w/food will be. so its easier to find us. it has a bar and snacks too..
Other ideas? were u thinking of an outside deck?

The Promenade Lounge is the best place to meet, it's where the meet has been for our other cruises. It gets a little chaotic in the open areas of the ship on the first day

Janice

thanks Janice!

um i called again. now they said its OK to bring scissors..?? hmm.

So heres a bunch of pictures of us :)

Is anyone else celebrating a birthday/anniversary etc whilst on the cruise. Have I put the wrong details next to anyone. Please let me know as soon as possible so I can correct these mistakes.

We will be holding a "meet" on departure date at 3.05pm (so that those of you wishing to attend the draw at the Spa can do so) on the Promenade Deck. This is open to everyone, not just those participating in the FE. Please could I have suggestions from those who have been on a cruise before as to an exact location!

Rules:

1. If any of you upgrade you need to slip a piece of paper under the door of everyone participating as soon as possible so that they know where you are (ie as soon as you settle into your cabin)

2. Have fun

Helpful Reminders:
1. Don't forget to put your mail on hold or make sure someone collects it for you daily. No need to advertise you are out of town.
2. If you get a daily paper delivered make sure you have cancelled it at least 2 days before
3. Notify your neighbours of the fact that you are going to be away even if they are not the ones keeping an eye on your property so if they see anything strange going on they don't automatically contact the police
4. Have you organised for someone to keep an eye on your property. Even if you've turned everything off you will probably still want someone to do a walk round every 3-4 days (make sure they have a key just in case)
5. My family learned the hard way (yes, my Grandfather had a stroke whilst we were on holiday when I was 18 and no one knew where we were. By the time they had tracked us down he unfortunately went into a coma. Thankfully we still got back in time to say our goodbyes). For this reason our family and whoever is minding our property (housesitter in this case as we have 3 dogs) has a full itinerary of where we are/what we are doing with numerous forms of contact even if we don't have activated cellphones.

OK I'm not neurotic just OCD when it comes to organisation. Trust me I've loved every minute of this FE. Wideeyedwonder (Greg) I loved taking over from you hope you don't mind that I get so excited.

Apologies if I've got anything wrong.

Sigrid

OK folks we are getting down to the wire! We're all excited and the first ones of you start your travels this weekend. The FE is set and I promised you confirmation as to where the meet up would be. This will take place at 3.05pm (yes five minutes after 3pm) in the Promenade Lounge. This allows those of you who wish to attend the draw in the Spa to do so and then join us in putting faces to names. The meet up is open to everyone that has been on this thread not just those of us participating in the FE.

Looking forward to meeting you all.

Sigrid

Hi Christy! No need to join the FE to hang out in this thread. Who is traveling with you? I will be traveling with my DS10... we live pretty close to the middle of SF and LA on the central coast.

Thanks Super*Mum! It's just my best friend Carolyn & I traveling, no kids to speak of. I took the CA Bar exam in July so this will be my post-bar vacation. :yay: I will probably be spending a good amount of time at the Cove pool, laying out & reading trashy books. :rotfl:

I am latina and Robb is a white boy who needs a lesson,:dancer:
:rotfl: Go get 'em girl! It is probably better I am not doing this one as I THINK I am an awesome dancer after several drinks. Feel free to look for me at the clubs at night... and point and laugh.

BUT is there something I am missing as far as it being the long cabo day? Im a new cruiser, so I would love to know the ins and outs...

One of our days in Cabo we are docked longer than the other. The "Salsa and Salsa" excursion is only available on the Cabo day that is longer (at least it was only offered that day when I went to check last night... they seem to be changing things up with excursions).

BTW... SUPER cute couple!!!! Love your engagement photos! Good luck with the wedding registry, hope you get everything you want!

Congrats on completing the Bar (seriously... huge accomplishment)! When do you find out the results (or did you already)? One of my friends recently passed (his third try) and I finally get to hear from him now. For awhile there I thought he disappeared.

This trip will be a lot of cocktails, laying around in the sun and reading something completely mindless... oh... yeah... and eating dinner with my child (oops).

Thank you!!! I don't find out until November 18th, so I'm in weird "graduated from law school but not a lawyer yet" limbo until then. Congrats to your friend! I don't want to take the bar exam EVER again - it really does take over your life!

I see a lot of cocktails in my future too, haha. Hopefully I'll be able to control myself so that my onboard bill at the end of the week isn't astronomical! We don't have any excursions planned, so we should be able to keep it reasonable. I'm perfectly fine with just walking around and exploring a little bit. Is everyone else doing excursions?

possibly but we are just going with the flow. We are looking into the CC path as we know it will hit us before to long. But you just never know with the rules changing what the cc. will want or expect etc,. We actually do multiple grades and let her run with it. She is extremely adv. in somethings, and just a few years in others it makes me crazy at times trying to keep up. I look forward to talking with you as we are first timers with this adv. stuff. She doesn't know what to say sometimes about what grade as it depends on how the "questioning" is proposed.
Does Sam like the cc does it have any drawbacks? What does he say when he's asked about grade level?
Debra

"I had one who was advanced like that! My oldest. He's now technically 10th grade age, but taking his math and science classes out at the community college. Are you going to graduate your dd early? Just curious how others are doing it. We opted to keep Sam officially in his grade, but have him do the advanced work.

Can we post pictures of ourselves here? I'd love to "see" all of you before the cruise! I'll post one later today. I have to meet a friend for coffee now!!![/QUOTE]

I'd be happy to stalk people on the repo cruise!!!

We are on the repo and on this one as well. I'm not sure if I will get a chance to post here, but I will try.

What we have heard for drydock is the updating of Route 66 to make it match the West Coast (updating mileage, I think) and the murals behind guest services and the shore excursion desk to reflect West Coast ports and not the Caribbean.

At one point there was talk of adding the virtual portholes to the Wonder, but the powers that be (you know, those guys) were wondering if they could get it done in two weeks. It's a little different retrofitting something as opposed to doing when it is being built.

Again, I will try to post from on board (or Victoria) so stay tuned.
