Tx disney fan,
I can't help you with the excursions. But when we sailed 2 years ago we booked Cat12 GTY. We recieved notification of an upgrade to Cat9 Within the 30 day mark, shortly before we recieved our Doc's.

I may be too depressed post cruise to post, but I will try :rotfl:
We all just need to rebook on board so we can continue planning ;)

Deanna and Others,

Unless I am doing something wrong I do not see any excursions available for reservation. I called Disney about this Tuesday and that time they said none were available. Is our cruise really that full that all excursions are bokked? How did the one I cancel get booked within minutes of me cancelling it at 11 pm? Is there someting in the cruise system which prevents excursion being booked so close to the cruise or maybe while everyone's documents are printed?

If anyone can really book an excursion today please reply.

On a related note....our cabin is STILL listed as a guaranteed cabin. I have my fingers crossed we will get an upgrade. Based on watching the 9/10/05 cruise board we should be knowing something at about the 30 day mark.

Larry - I was able to reserve the Beach Break in Cozumel at around 3 pm today. And there were a bunch of excursions available. No problems here, I wonder what's going on. It is strange that the CM you talked to couldn't see that there were openings. I hope you are able to get it worked out.

So, Bailey went to Kindergarten today and had a BLAST! She was cute there at her little desk with her little pink tank top and skirt! Adorable! Yes, I cried just a little bit as I was leaving the classroom, but she didn't see me. She just yelled "bye, mom!" She didn't even cry a little! She's getting so big! How old will she be before she decides she doesn't want to give me a hug and a kiss when I drop her off?

Howdy all,

Larry- I am also still able to book excursions online. I don't know what the problem is for you. Sounds crazy. I don't understand why the CM couldn't help you either. What a mess. Make sure you are doing all the steps correctly such as signing in with your reservation number. etc. I don't get it. Sorry.

Julie- I'm glad you didn't have the screaming and crying kid that every kindergarten class has. Good for her. I'm proud of both of you. :cool1: My daughter is in third grade, and she doesn't mind if I hug/kiss her. But no way on the sixth grader.

Julie- did we decide 12:30 or 12:45? Yes, bring lots of pics. That sounds fun.

Poweralaska- I wish I had your frequent flyer miles. You are a maniac.

Have a great night. Deanna

Hi Everyone,

I'm at Kathy and David's house using his laptop. I was very kind to my brother and lent him my laptop for a job he need to do. I'm really lost without my laptop. I just got lip from my nephew who is going on the cruise, he told me that I post my messages at abnormable times. What's wrong with posting prior to 6 AM? :confused3 Just because I love getting up early and enjoying a quiet moment, I'm crazy? I must go beat my DN now and kiss him, he's twelve and I will drive him crazy!!! I just chased him out the door screaming!!! :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Julie, I'm crying just thinking of your little princess starting the big K. They grow up too fast!!! I remember when my little guy started school, I was a mess. I'm still a mess when he starts a new grade, maybe it's because not only is he getting older but I am too!!!

I haven't read the rest of the thread yet, I will have to catch up on my husband's laptop under supervision. The DH doesn't trust me with his Apple laptop, since his business is directly attached to it. Maybe it's my fixing technique, if it doesn't work smash it a bit.

Got to go David's home and I have to get supper ready for all us of. I will be practicing my cribbage also.

DiDi :wizard:

Hey everyone, I copied the following idea from another thread.........

"I was thinking, if everyone's interested, we can share a couple of things about ourselves, some things that might make for conversation starters at the DISMeet.

Ok, so it's not really my idea, I got the idea from another board where the thread was "5 things you don't know about me" but I thought it would work here. I'll start:"

Okay, here we go. 5 things about me.
1. I love cats. We have a siamese cat that is two years old.
2. My DD8 is on a gymnastics competitive team. She is a level 5 gymnast despite her being one of the tallest kids in the class. She is also addicted to fishing. My DS11 is a scuba diver.
3. My DH36 and I are high school sweethearts. We started dating at age sixteen. He enjoys lifting weights, I enjoy running. We graduated in 1987 from the same high school.
4. I have a bachelor's degree in dental hygiene. I work part-time.
5. This is our first cruise since our honeymoon in 1991. We cruised on Carnival and loved it. We've been dreaming of this cruise for years!

Okay. Now it is your turn. Let me hear it! Deanna :earsgirl:

By the way, I was reading another cruise meet and they are meeting in the Promenade Lounge. For those of you who have cruised before, is that a better option? I know nothing about it. Deanna :confused3 :Pinkbounc

okey..
1. I've only been to the states twice in my life. (heehee..Deanna, you asked me about this, so I'm using this as #1). We travelled to Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, and North Dakota when I was a teenager in a travel trailer. Second time was about 10 years ago when I went to visit a friend in the Florida Keys.
2. I hate television. I think I'm the only person in the universe that could actually live without a TV. I love going to movies, but sitting in front of a TV watching a sitcom..well, I just find it hard to find any entertainment value in that.
3. My husband and I met on the Internet.
4. I can't sleep without a white noise machine. (it drives my DH crazy).
5. I love my job. I've been working at the college as a program secretary for 10 years now.

Gee..I feel like this is True Confessions, or something.

Larry,
That's really strange that you can't see any excursions. Maybe you should call DCL and tell them that other passengers can view bookings. :confused3

We are still sitting at a GTY too. It would be a nice surprise if we get upgraded, but we will just be happy with what we have too. In fact, if we get upgraded to a porthole or a verandah I probably won't be able to sleep as well...being that the light will come through.

I'm miffed. Remember that good deal I got on a set of luggage about a month ago? I discovered that the biggest piece is over-sized! Maybe that's why they were on sale. Grr. So either I have to pay the airline $$$ for the over-sized suitcase or find something else.

read enough posts from me today..here's one more.

Promise..I won't post again today.

I've never had a problem with separation anxiety with DD. Well, at least not from her viewpoint that is. She is quite outgoing and been in daycare since she was 19 months old, so she is pretty use to adjusting really fast to new environments. The only time she isn't happy is if she isn't feeling well, such as a cold or something. Then she would rather not be where she is..and would rather be home. Would'nt we all when we are sick?

Last year when she started Grade 1, all the parents brought their kids to the classroom. A couple mothers had cameras, and I had forgotten mine in the car. So I told DD that I would be right back, because I was going to get the camera out of the car. Well, I got to the car, looked at my watch..and figured "well, I'm in the car..I might as well go to work."

Bad mother..bad!

She will probably need therapy and write books about me when she is an adult. (actually, when I picked her up at the end of the day and asked her if she wondered why I did'nt come back..she had totally forgotten about me).

Hmmm "Five Things You Don't Know About Me" ...

1. I have a FloatPlane Pilot's License ...

2. On the North America continent ... I have never been to the Canadian Provinces of Northwest Territories & Newfoundland or the Central America countires of Costa Rica, Honduras or Nicaragua ... Been to all the places in between if I count Belize & Guatemala, headed there in December. :moped:

3. I once demolished the wrong building and that led to me meeting Chrystina  (Full story later...)

4. I have bicycled from Alaska to Boston ... 1980 ... O Canada!!!

5. Euell Gibbons was my ecology instructor and taught me how to make a dinner soup from sea urchins, periwinkles, pine bark and seaweed. :confused3

And SIX ~~~ I have less than 10k Airmiles in my balance!!! :rotfl2: Use Them or Lose Them!!!

Dennis

Dennis,
That soup sounds delicious. (yucckk!)

oops..I said I was'nt going to talk anymore today.

(zipping my lip)

Ingrid- No need to zip as I think I've posted more than you today. Somebody needs to zip me, not you. Quite interesting on you and your husband meeting. I'm not surprised as you are hilarious on the internet. So you've been to the Florida Keys.......did you make it to Key West? I'm sure you Canadians won't like this toasty weather in the Caribbean. :sunny:

Dennis- nothing surprises me anymore with you. You are the most adventuresome person that I know. I can't wait to hear the story about Chrystina. How long did your bicycle trip take? Wow. :earseek: :earseek:

See ya. Deanna

5 things (you probably didn't want to know) about Julie:

1. I got my FloatPlane Pilot's License one day before Dennis. . . Ok, I made that up. Seriously, now!

1. I used to be a used car salesperson. Quite possibly the worst job ever! (My husband and I owned a small carlot in St Louis in 1998.) NEVER AGAIN!!!

2. Clint and I went to Ireland several years ago (before kids) and it was the most amazing trip I have ever been on. Beautiful country and wonderful people.

3. I physically cannot ski. Snow or otherwise. I am useless with gigantic ski's on my feet. I would die if left to get safely down the bottom of a ski slope on my own. It is not pretty.

4. I can't sleep at night with closet doors or dresser drawers open. I feel like someone could get in there and hide and I wouldn't know it. (Yes, I know that logically a person could not fit in a drawer.)

5. I can set and run a trot line.

DiDi - Don't tell me that you still cry when they start school! I thought I had the hard part over with. I can't do this every year!

Deanna - Clint and I went on a Carnival Cruise for our honeymoon, too. In 1998, we went to Grand Cayman, Cozumel and New Orleans. We had an absolutely wonderful time!!! I think we decided to meet about 12:30pm tomorrow. You'll know who I am because I will be the one with a rose in my hair. Hee, hee just kidding!! I'll recognize you from your picture I'm sure.

Ingrid - Your story about your daughter in kindergarten is so funny. It probably wasn't at the time, but I'm sure she doesn't hold it against you too much!

Dennis - I loved your "five things". You have certainly done some traveling, that's great! I'm excited to hear the story about you and Chrystina - I just knew there would be a great story attached to you guys! :lovestruc

Off to the gym...icky.

Hi everyone--

I haven't posted here in a few daya b/c my life has been crazy this week...especially work.

Here are 5 fun factoids about me:

1. I have a BA from Georgetown with majors in French and Anthropology...I now work in banking (try and figure that out, lol)
2. I have never been West of Minnesota
3. I HATE to fly, but love to travel
4. At the end of 2005, I will have visited every Disney destination except two: Disney Tokyo and Hong Kong
5. I am left-handed

Five Things about Chrystina

1. The first time we ate lunch together was in Fairbanks, Alaska. It was a "going away" luncheon for me. She attended (in her own words) "to make sure you leave town"... :confused3 :rotfl2:

2. She is an exceptional seamstress and embroiders everything!!!

3. She is an EMT and the Superintendent of Nursing for a TX Air National Guard unit in San Antonio.

4. She loves to tell stories about my "speech impediment". Hang in there my fellow New Englanders!!!

5. She is addicted to Ancestry research.

and finally ... she has a weak spot for "lost causes"!!! Afetr all, she married me :rotfl2: and still puts up with me. :rolleyes1 So much for me leaving town ...

Dennis

So.................smilingmouse................are you flying to Orlando? Or driving? You are like Mr. T. from the "A" Team TV show back in the early 80s. Remember they used to knock him out to fly? Well some of you may remember, but I now know that Ingrid was NOT watching this show. :teeth:

Julie- I guess it is a good thing that we aren't taking an Alaskan cruise and expecting you to ski down Mt. McKenley. :rotfl:

I can't believe no one has visited Kansas. It is so highly known as the number one tourist spot in America! :rotfl: :rotfl: Right, Julie?

See ya, Deanna

Deanna,

Yes, I am flying, but I VERY SERIOUSLY considered taking the train.......evern though it was a 36-hour ride. No, I am not kidding!!! I do plan on taking meds to calm me down before I fly. Thank goodness for drugs, lol :cheer2:

I say if you haven't traveled to Kansas, than you really haven't traveled, now have you? :moped:

smilingmouse - When are you going to make it to hong kong or tokyo? When you go, maybe you could take a cruise there instead of fly! My Dad will NOT fly, there's not question about it - he just refuses. My parents took a train trip to the Grand Canyon and loved it. Have you traveled by train much?

I've onlt traveled by train once in the US...though, I do use trains a lot when I'm in France. Generally, I just fly and try not to panicthe whole time. I do realize that I will have to fly to Asia. Thankfully, my Dr. understands, and is willing to give me drugs (see my previous post for my thoughts on drugs....lol). I don't know when I am going to the last two Disney parks...it will be a while b/c it will be quite pricey....I'll probably need at least 3 years to save up the required $$$$......Lot of time for me to do some serious type A planning!
