Ingrid---sounds like it's going to be a wonderful, beautiful ceremony!!!

Is it time to go YET?! I'm ready to sail the seas and meet everyone :)

Ingrid - The wedding sounds like it will be wonderful. I love everything, especially the autumn leaves and the burgundy colors (or colours ;) ). Her dress sounds beautiful, will you have pictures by the time we go on the cruise? I would love to see them!! Especially of the bride, mother of the bride and flower girl. I bet Chantel is really getting excited!

Deanna - Bailey starts Kindergarten tomorrow and I think I am still in denial! We just brought her home from the hospital last week, didn't we?!?!!? :sad2: I am excited, but I just can't believe it.

Hi Deanna,

I'm with you. My DS is going into 7th grade on the 29th. My gosh is he growing up fast!! I recently found a hospital scrub shirt that got when he was born. Guess who's wearing it now... yup, DS12!!

My goodness, it seems like time is actually speeding up!! I want this vacation to last for weeks! Do you think we can talk the captain into getting lost? :rotfl2:

My work is real busy right now. We are down 1 person and 2 people are on vacation. Guess who gets to wear 4 hats this week. Yup, Me! But my boss & her boss have both given me 'Kudus' for the extra effort. I have a map of the cruise path on my wall with a yellow sticky for how many more days. I keep replacing it every morning. I think it's what keeps me sane right now. Oh, yeah, plus I really like what I'm doing & the people I work with too. So that helps!

Wow, what got me started on this tirade? :confused3

Gosh, I must be getting old. Oh yeah, that was it!

Back to work now...

FYI: 37 Days 5 Hrs 44 Mins 8 Secs until Jet Blue takes me south!! :teleport:

David

Ingrid: Wedding sounds lovely, hope you have a great time.

Yes time flys way too fast when it comes to kids growing up. I have my first middle schooler this year....YIKES!!!! I'm nervous, she's excited :guilty: .
Luckely she's a great kid, has a good head on her shoulders. Its a hard head too :rotfl:

Back to work,

Is it time to go yet???? :Pinkbounc

Hi all!

Checking in to remind folks I am still alive......jk

We are all getting excited about the cruise. Last night wife and I decided that we really were not very interested in taking the DS10 and DD7 to Tulum after reading more and more posts about the trip. So we cancelled that excursion and were going to book the the Cozumel Beach Break EXCEPT there are no excursions to any port available on the web site at all. This seems odd to me because I just cancelled an excursion why isn't at least that one available?

I wanted to know from the veterans the options we have:
1. Book onboard? - Are they going to be available?
2. Go through private channel and book non-Disney excursion
3. Check web site every day and hope something become available

What do you all think?

Also has anyone done this Cozumel Beach Break excursion and what did you think? It seems expensive and that probably I could do just as well on my own anyway for a lot less money.

Thanks,

Larry

Larry - Did you try calling Disney and asking them about the excursions? It seems odd that EVERY excursion is booked. It may be that the website is having troubles. I called Disney a while back when I was having trouble booking excursions online and they did tell me that they keep some spots open on each excursion for those people who do not have internet access. You would book as soon as you get on the boat. Go to the Shore Excursion Desk immediately after boarding and see if there are some spots open or if people cancelled or whatever. People have up until a couple days prior to boarding to cancel without penalty. I guess what I am saying is:

Call Disney and try to book over the phone. If they say you can't do it over the phone you can always call back and ask someone else. One CM said they couldn't book excursions over the phone, the next CM said they can! To quote her "That's what we are here for!"

By the way, from what I have heard about Cozumel, it is easy to do a beach day on your own, and probably much cheaper, too! Good luck on whatever you decide to do!

Sorry this is so crazy long!!!!!!!!!! :teeth:

We were also thinking of the Beach Break too, however, the price scared me away. We are either going to go to Paradise Beach, Mr. Sanchos or Nachi Cocum (I hope I spelled that right..)

Larry, I just checked Disney's site and there are plenty of excursions available including the Cozumel beach break. I would say the site was experiencing difficulty when you were online. Good luck and try again. Deanna

Ingrid- I mailed you a copy of your door magnet. I hope this way works instead of the other way. Let me know. I'm excited for you to see it!

School starts tomorrow. Ugh!

We are going to a bonfire tonight. Have a great night. Deanna

Hi Larry,
Good luck on what ever you decide.
Our Cozumel plans are pretty laid back. Take a taxi to Paradise beach, I hear its really nice, as well as some of the other beaches. Hang out there, you can get food and beverages brought to you, for not too terrible prices. Then probably go back thru for some shopping on our way back to the ship.

Nothing too structured, and I'm sure much cheaper than DCL.

Sounds like heaven doesn't it??? I want to go NOW!!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

Deanna,
Got the e-mail and I e-mailed you back! Love it!
Ok..so I've been thinking...
With less than a month now, what's going to happen after the cruise??

I think we should all make a promise on the cruise that we are going to come back to the thread and keep posting! :grouphug:

See..I even need to plan post-cruise stuff too! :goodvibes

oops..I guess it's a little more than "less than a month". I keep counting down to my start of my holidays..which is Sept. 15th..oops.

I do solemnly vow to post here after the cruise is over. I may be a bit emotional though.... :guilty:

Awesome new pic, Julie! He is so cute.

I do solemnly sware to post here after the cruise. How long after the cruise can you post on an old cruise date?

I read the thread about a home made pirate costume. I think I will do that. Someone took an old pair of their jeans, cut them off to make capris with jagged edges. Then washed them so they would unravel. Then they wore a white top with a red/white striped sash for their belt. I checked at WalMart and they have red/white striped material for 2 bucks a yard. Sounds like a great and cheap outfit to me. And I have plenty of old jeans around here to do that with!

Ingrid- Glad you liked the sign!

Julie- are we still on for Friday?

David- I love the enthusiasm about the trip at work. The sticky note idea is wonderful! Are we there yet?

Have a great night. Kids in school tomorrow. Deanna :earsgirl:

Good morning. Another day closer to the cruise. Whoopee! :cool1:

Julie- Anxious to see if you or your daughter cried for her first day of school. Give us the scoop.

Gilesfamily- have you previously done much travel in U.S.? Just curious where you've been.

Have a great day! Deanna

Good Morning! :sunny:

Deanna - Thank you for noticing Jack's new picture! He is obsessed with Buzz Lightyear, Toy Story (NOT Toy Story 2) is the only movie he loves to watch. I think it is coming out of the Disney Vault in September - WOO HOO!
Yes, we are still on for lunch tomorrow! I can't wait! I'm bringing a couple of photo albums from our Wonder trip, so feel free at any time to say "Ok, Julie, enough pictures!"

Bailey has afternoon kindergarten so we will leave the house here in about an hour and a half. I guarantee there will be crying, but it won't be from her. I couldn't sleep last night because I was so excited for her! My stomach has tons of butterflies! I give a kindergarten report later. AAAAAHHHHH!!!

By the way, your idea for a pirate costume sounds great! I may have to do this as well. :goodvibes

Julie - Good luck with Kindergarten. Can't wait for the report. Emma doesn't start til next week.

Funny thing 'bout Buzz. Daniel loves him, too. Calls him "and Beyond" He likes Toy Story 2 better, though. He likes both your kids pictures. Still says pretty every time he sees Bailey. :)

hi everybody :wave2:

Me too!! I may need this thread more AFTER the cruise than before.

Has anybody see the Celebrity Cruise Line commercial that goes something like: "I was treated like a king..." If so, I can imagine all of us walking around like that couple after we get back!! :rotfl2:  :rotfl2:

Back to work....

David

Deanna and Others,

Unless I am doing something wrong I do not see any excursions available for reservation. I called Disney about this Tuesday and that time they said none were available. Is our cruise really that full that all excursions are bokked? How did the one I cancel get booked within minutes of me cancelling it at 11 pm? Is there someting in the cruise system which prevents excursion being booked so close to the cruise or maybe while everyone's documents are printed?

If anyone can really book an excursion today please reply.

On a related note....our cabin is STILL listed as a guaranteed cabin. I have my fingers crossed we will get an upgrade. Based on watching the 9/10/05 cruise board we should be knowing something at about the 30 day mark.
