Patti,
Hi and welcome. First-time cruisers for us. I have a DD (22) and a DD (6) so have certainly experienced the age-gap parenting!

Patti- Okay, we always like to know the following things from a new girl on the block. What is your category on the ship? What excursions are you doing? Would you like to be linked with our group for dinner reservations? OR stay on your own? Are you dressing up for pirate night?

How is that for putting you on the spot? By the way, my best friend where I live is also named Patti! :sunny:

Deanna

O.K, we were a cat 9, and were upgraded to a cat 6. Very exciting!!! We don't have shore excursions planned yet because I am unsure if we should book through DCL, and or make our own??? Very confused, and alittle nervous about being left behind. Our shore excursion on the Wonder was really good, but too cold for these floridians. It was December, but well worth seeing Mickey and Minnie in their formal Christmas attire. Would love to hook up dinner. Is it too late to do that???

:wave2: I'm Soo glad you found your way over.
To follow up Deanna, there is a group from here linking early and late seating, either one welcome's you.

If your interested in Stingray city in Grandcayman, we have 2 groups linking for that too.
We are also starting a group to go to Paradise Beach in Cozumel.
BTW Deanna, I noticed on the Links Julie gave me Paradise beach is listed as closing at 6pm.
My DD's love rock climbing walls so I really think they will enjoy the water toys at Paradise beach.

Aren't we just the Best looking DIS group you have ever seen??? (referring to our group photo) :rotfl:
Watch out Patty, the cutour ladies are on the prowell.

Hey... it's ME! I can't believe my DSL is working already. We just got our phone back this afternoon. Thanks for all the well wishes from you all. I have to tell you that we are so lucky. We have minimal damage(some roof shingles, slight water damage to the living room floor). We only lost power for a few hours yesterday, but had it back by 7pm last night. I almost felt bad, because most all our neighbors had no power, so I guess we were just really lucky. I'm sure by now most of you have seen some television footage of the damage. I have to tell you, that I have been to most all of these coastal areas, and the images that they are showing on TV are just almost unbelievable. I know that my Aunt in New Mexico called to say that she had seen the images of the pier here in Fairhope that was mostly washed away. But the worst areas in Mississippi, and Louisiana, are just awful. We have family and friends that have houses completely under water. It will be a very long time before these areas (if they ever) recover. Our girls are possibly going back to school Thursday. Mobile county has no return date at this point. They were saying today, that they have over 4 million $ in damage to their schools. They are still broadcasting images on the news 24/7 and giving emergency info to folks nonstop, so it's starting to get really depressing at this point. All I can think to myself is,"it's not even Labor Day yet" and we've already had 3 storms this year. Hopefully, we will be spared of any more. I can't even imagine it another one heads this way!

Dennis- was Chrystina dispatched to the New Orleans area? It looks like they have brought in lots of medical help, but there is not much they can do at this point since they really can't go into the city.

Okay, ON A MUCH HAPPIER NOTE! The formal dress group image is the BEST image I have seen on screen in days! ;) Bpicard: I only wish I was as talented as you with a computer. It is just a scream. The adding of Julie and Deanna's faces to their dresses just takes the whole photo to a new level! :rotfl:

Well I'm off to catch up on my emails. Thanks again for all your kind thoughts and prayers. There are many people who will need them for a long time! :sad1:

Patti, the groups doing stingray city are booking thru Capt Marvins, (they get rave reviews) you can check out captainmarvinswatersports.com.
No its not too late to link your dining. Our good friend Dennis would be happy to help you....right Dennis??? You just need to PM him some info, like res. # cabin # etc.....

Erin glad to see you back and doing well. Yes devistation is aweful :guilty: . Good Morning America had me in tears this am interviewing those poor people. Sending a group hug to them all :grouphug:

BTW bpcard9 LOVE your dress, can't wait to see the front :teeth:

Patti concrats on the upgrade :cheer2: thats awesome.

Wow board is hoppin tonight :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Well I'm off,
Talk to you all tomorrow,

Hi Patti! Glad you came to our thread! :goodvibes We cruised the Wonder in January and I agree, it was much cooler than I was expecting, but we had a fun time as well!! My husband and I have been to Cozumel and Grand Cayman before on a cruise, but just for a few hours at each port. It would be wonderful if you wanted to link up reservations through Capt. Marvins with either our group or Kim's group. I had that same fear you did about being left behind. That's why I decided if we didn't go through Disney (which we are for the Grand Cayman submarine excursion) we wanted to be with people we already knew from the group here. Are you early dinner seating or late seating? Sorry if you have already answered that!

Erin - Thanks for letting us know how things are going for you all. You were very lucky to escape major damage, that's wonderful. Keep us posted how things are going there. I know it will be a long time until everyone is back to normal. Still thinking of you all!! :)

The Paradise Beach website says 5 or 6. I'm assuming since not many ships are at port that they would close at 5 :confused3

We have late seating. Capt Marvins sounds good. Don't know much about it. I will have to look I think you might have a link on these boards. I really love the beach, and I would like to snorkel this time. Is the beach closing early because it gets dark earlier???

Erin and Keri - Glad to hear y'all are okay.

Prayers to all who have been impacted by Katrina :grouphug:

Gee Julie, I'm more than a little afraid of a dress that your models don't want to model the front :scared:

Welcome Patti :wave2:

I've included your info in this chart update of our little group. If you click on the group photo a couple of pages back it should come up, too.

Patti or anyone else interested. Here is the excursion information from captain marvins. There are two tours available to stingray city that our group is doing. Thanks for the info on the beach. You are correct. It does close early 365 days a year. Interesting. Good thing I'm among planners here! Otherwise I would have been disappointed. I doubt we can make both then. Too bad as my kids really wanted that climbing wall. They saw it in the Disney DVD you get for free in the mail.
I've emailed the beach to make sure the info is correct, and to ask them how far they are from Chanakannab. ( I don't know how to spell that name!)
Good night. deanna
(Didi's probably got the coffee brewing!)

Julie- what are kino sandals? I've noticed on the main thread people talking about that place also in Key West. Please fill me in with info! Deanna

Deanna - When Shirley from The Perfect Gift went back home to the Keys she sent me this info re: the sandals http://kinosandals.com/sandals.html

I was thinking about getting some myself.

Let me start this by saying "oh man, I adore shoes." :lovestruc I have way, way too many of them but I don't care! There is a Kino Sandal shop in Key West. http://www.kinosandals.com/ Apparently, they make these sandals while you wait. I've heard the shoes are very comfortable and the best part...they are only like $7-9 for the Lili style. (I've heard reports of $7, $8 and $9 so I'm not sure which it is) I plan to go there and get several different colors. I am too excited about this! I saw a lady the other day at Bailey's school and I just knew she was wearing Kino sandals. I asked her and she said yep, and that they were really comfy - and cheap. Oh and supposedly they last a long time, too.

Kim ~ Yep ,Gevalia is the mail order stuff with the yuppie coffee pots. Overpriced stuff as fare as this Yankee Kid is concerned. Gimme Dunkin Donuts coffee anytime.

Julie ~ The comment about me dancing finally got Chrystina's  interest!!! She was muttering something about my two left feet. Then she wanted to read everything! :rolleyes1 Until she saw how many pages there were. :confused3

bpi ~ You have TOO MUCH TIME ON YOUR HANDS!!! :grouphug: What a Group photo!!! :earseek:

Julie & Marsha ~ Dance Harder!!! TS#14 is already forming in the Atlantic ... :cool1:

Keri & Erin ~ Glad to hear that all is well... News is catastrophic. This will be with us for a LONG time. PRAY that nothing else goes that way anytime soon.

Patti ~ Welcome aboard. Glad that you found your way here!!! :wave2:

Deanna ~ How about getting to the point with Patti! Have you explained the "dessert tax". She can handle it since she is a "lowlie" converted to an "uppity".

Patti ~ Are you late sitting for dinner? Lordy but that waiter is gonna have his hands full!!! Late dinner seatings are linked to my reservation. If you want to join in, I need you to PM your last name, reservation number, & cabin number. I will call and make the linkage. Just let me know... :teeth:

Kim ~ What is the plan for Paradise Beach? Mayhaps I will cancel out of the Catamaran Cruise and snorkeling. Guess I will check out Ingrid's website link.

ErinC ~ Welcome Back. Chrystina's  ANG Unit leaves for LA tommorrow. She is being sent to Travis AFB in CA to lead some troops that need some formal training and "adult supervision". She need to finish some medical training too. All indication is that she will be on the next rotation. That works out real well because we were in the process of negotiating with DCL about changing our Cruise Dates. Didn't want to bring that up unless it was a confirmed thing. SO - We will be there!!! :cheer2:

Julie/Deanna/Kim/Ingrid/Patti/Becky/et al ~ DO NOT tell Chrystina  about Kino Sandals! She does NOT need any more shoes.

OBTW ~ YES!!! Got the job!!! :rolleyes1 So much for my WanderingWays! :rotfl2:

Two weeks of work then two weeks off!!! Works for me! :earseek:

More later ...

Dennis
