I just tried to post a picture of the actualy conch itself, but for some reason it didn't go through. Anyway, here are conch fritters:

EXP=1122692824

I enjoy pretty much anything that has been deep fried...so I may have to give it a whirl. Rest assured, it will NOT replace my chocolate covered key lime pie on a stick that I have heard wonderful things about. There's room for all!

Ingrid - I am still thinking of things for your time capsule.

Julie, can't see your picture.

I'm usually a sucker for anything fried to, but I may have met my match on the conch.....
I can't wait for that choc covered pie either mmmmmmm :goodvibes

I am having a hard time posting pictures tonight. I guess that means it's time for sleep...Night all!

Ingrid, perhaps a collage of her favorite childhood things????

Thanks for the conch lesson kcatoir, I'm with you...I think I'll pass

Hey - Look at the new Smilie!!! :maleficen Chrystina  will love it.

Anyhow, Conchs - I like them!!! Of course, having grown up in New England, I eat (and love) ALL seafood. The primary reason they are chopped up is the meat tends to be a little tough. Has anyone ever had Gooeyduck? NO, I am not making that up. It is a BIG clam in the Pacific NW that they cut up into steaks. Well, conch, mussels, periwinkles, and gooeyduck are similiar in taste. (Euell Gibbons was my ecology instructor - no kidding). Anyhow, conch is definitely not a delicacy but quite edible. Escargot are much more tender especially when served in a white wine sauce. :teeth: Y'all can just send your escargot to me ~ along with your desserts. I will protect them!!!

Ingrid - Have any "bare bottom" pictures or some other "cute" pictures of your daughter as a child? Or some toy that she loved that you stashed away? I am sure if you go scrounging around in those boxes in the garage or attic, you will stir a million happy memories and find the "right thing".

I hope ErinC is having a Fab time at Disneyland.....

I wish I was at Disneyland!!!! :teeth: Nope, not me, I'm here. It took me awhile to catch up on all the posts I missed last week while I was at church camp with the kids. We had a great time. It's so nice to know that there are still some great kids in this world! After camp, I picked up my three nieces and brought them home with me, as soon as they left Southernmouse came to see me for a couple of days (well her husband was working!). So it took me a while to catch up on everything! I feel like I'm so far behind. I have to go and finish some more school shopping today. I finished with most of the school uniforms yesterday, today I need to get the rest of the school supplies. DD5 starts kindergarten and her list is huge! Oh well it's just money!! :rotfl: Wait til DH sees all the checks I've written this week.

So glad to know that Ingrid has officially introduced herself to us! :rotfl2: You all are so funny! I don't care what her real name is now, she will be forever Ingrid to me!

Ingrid, do you have any little keepsake items that were your mother's or fathers'. I know "inherited" items are always special to me. I have a cookie jar of my grandparents, it is nothing special, it's just stainless steel, but it always sat on the counter at my grandparents house, and I have many memories of crawling on top of the counter and eating iced oatmeal cookies from that jar. When my grandparents died, I asked my aunt for the cookie jar (since my grandfather lived with them when he died), and she let me have it. Hopefully you'll figure something out!

Well I need to get everyone dressed, and go out to let the world have some more of my money! Good to be back with all of you! Less than 2 months, til the big day! Erin

Happy Friday Everyone,

Well if it wasn't ErinC who went to CA??? I know someone did?? :confused3

No worries Dennis, DH will be protecting his and DD's escargo :rolleyes1

Ingrid - Another idea for your time capsule. It's along the same idea Dennis had. You could get some cute baby/young child pictures of your daughter and some of her fiance and make a collage of them. I just love photographs. I am constantly taking pictures! 35mm, digital, camcorder, it doesn't matter! Anyway, everyone else has had great ideas, too. I know you will think of something perfect. :goodvibes

Sounds like you had a great time at camp and with southernmouse! Is your daughter excited about kindergarten? Bailey sure is. She can't wait because some of her T-ball friends are in her kindergarten and she is excited to see them again. Glad you're back!

O.K. than I hope bpicard9 is having a fab time in Disneyland :teeth:

Is it time to go yet.........is it time to go yet??????? :moped:

You guys! We were nearly at the BOTTOM of the page. Tsk, tsk. Hope everyone is having a rockin' Friday night. :3dglasses

That reminds me...need to go turn on the dryer. Oh, it's a wild and crazy night here at our house. Hope the neighbors don't call the police on us. :teeth:

Well, Saturday morning in Bangor and all is quiet. Fortunately, the State Fair started yesterday, so I will probably wander down there to get "rocking" like the rest of you ... :rotfl2:

Of all the places to get sunburned ~ Bangor ME was NOT where I expected it to happen!!! :confused3 I look like a lobster this morning! Well, if I treat it right, I should have a good base tan for the cruise. :rolleyes1

Not much else happening ... Great Weekend everyone!!!!

Dennis

Gonna take DD and niece to Charlie and the Choc Factory today. Anyone seen it?

Tomorrow we finally get to go to the lake. For the first time this summer! Can't wait to just sit on the beach and let the kids frolic in the water chatting with my girlfriend and gossiping and then heading out to the ice cream shop for triple rocky road ice cream cone. Ok..so it's not the Carribbean but it's the closest I can get. Maybe I can work on a tan too. Well, it more like burn, peel, and then tan, but it works!

And then Monday I'll be taking the kids raspberry picking. Anyone for a jar of fresh raspberry jam?

I haven't seen Charlie yet, but I did see the edding Crashers last night---funny movie. Severral of my co-workers have seen Charlie, and they all LOVED it!!!!

Have fun :)

Ingrid - Bailey has seen Willy Wonka and Chocolate Factory (twice!) already. She loved it! She came home and made a "chocolate factory" in her room which was really cute. I loved the 70s movie "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." Gene Wilder is a hoot. Johnny Depp does a great job though too. Your daughter will love it! We have never picked raspberries, but we did blueberry picking this summer. The kids really liked it. Sounds like you are going to have a great weekend. I love rocky road.

My weekend plans included screening potential homes for my kittens. ;) Actually, one of Clint's friends is coming over tonight for dinner. He lives alone with no pets and has decided he is ready for a kitten. He's never had cats before, only dogs.

Dennis - SUNSCREEN! Be careful! :sunny:

smilingmouse - I thought Wedding Crashers would be good. I really like Vince Vaughn. :flower:

EEK!!! We are near the bottom of pg1....where is everyone

Happy Sunday!
