bpicard9- Wow!! We got the Captain Mickey booklet and it is AMAZING!! I can't believe how much work you must have put into it. We just got it about 30 minutes ago and we have looked at it several times so far. Thank you so much. It is really special. :goodvibes

I can't wait until we get ours too. It will probably be a couple more weeks before it makes it WAY up here.

So now that the date is getting closer to the 90-day mark for everyone, what type of excursions is everyone thinking of? I am totally undecided...but I have to wait for the 75-day mark :sad2: , so I'm hoping to be inspired before then!

The only Disney excursion we are doing is the Submarine excursion in Grand Cayman. It's just going to be me and my daughter. At the other ports, we have the day planned, but it is just things we are doing on our own. Except at Castaway Cay, where I plan to do absolutely NOTHING!! :teeth: I am just excited to get to register Bailey for the kid's club online...not that she will actually go to them, but we will give it another try.

At Key West we are thinking of just doing a walking tour on our own, unless DD wants to come onshore, then we will probably take a trolley as she does'nt like walking long distances.

At Grand Cayman, I'm thinking either just the submarine or the sub/snorkel. I don't snorkel, but hubby wants the opportunity, so I could always be the official family photographer/and "here, hold my stuff" delegate.

At Cozumel, either the Sea Lion show, or just spend a day at one of the beaches or the Fury Catamaran Sail, Snorkel and Beach, and then lately I checked the website on the Xcaret Park, and it looks so fascinating! I think I'm going to have to flip a coin on this one.

And then at Castaway Cay, I think we will go with the flow and decide when we get there.

Key West: Pub Crawl.. :drinking1 Just Kidding... :rotfl: Although I do have to stick my head into Margarittaville & maybe get a cheeseburger. ;) Mostly Key West is going to be laid back and explore. Although I hear you must get some Key Lime pie while your there. Is this some kind of city regulation? :rotfl2:

Grand Cayman: Booked a 3hr Snorkel/Sting Ray w/Captain Marvin's (10am - 1pm). Any other ideas?

Cozumel: Hmm... That Sea Lion show sounds cute. Need to do more reading on this port. I believe DiDi & Bill are going to Tulum. I may have Patrick. :confused3

Castaway Cay (or is it Key?): Play in the water for hours... :bounce:  :Pinkbounc also some... :mickeybar

David

David- I looked for your stateroom number under the stateroom reports section on this board. No one commented on your exact room, but someone commented on the rooms on either side and they seemed to really love them. It looks like it's a great location! I am jealous! :goodvibes

Howdy from Kansas!

Dear Baton Dodgers,
I just posted a new thread on the main boards about our dining questions. You all can watch and see what kind of responses we get. I asked if any other DIS group had tried to get their dining rotations together, and if so , how did they link them? Hopefully we will get a response from one of those seasoned DIS groupies who have posted over 5000 times! Surely they will know the answer. :teeth:

Has anyone been reading the thread on the main board about how they got their DIS groups together? It is interesting. It will be great reading for whoever now holds that wonderful baton.

I'm a bit confused about the mickey project. I understand how to get the pictures to you, but how do I get the forms to you that the kids filled out information? I'm a little slow on this project. :confused3

I forgot about linking the Capt. Marvin reservations. Has anyone thought about this anymore? It reminded me when you were all discussing your excursions. I guess I need to email Capt. Marvin's and see how many go on a boat together. I will let you know their response. :)

Have a great weekend! Deanna

re: their answers you can either scan the info to me so that it's in their handwriting and then email me, or just send their answers any info they want to share to me in an email with the pics and I'll lay out the booklet with their information.

Anyone else interested in the project, please let me know and send me the info so that I can get the new version of the booklet setup and sent to the children.

thanks :)

We are getting some good responses on the main board about our venture to dine together. The title of the thread to read is "Can DIS group dine together?" I started it this afternoon. As I previously had hoped, the veterans who have posted over 10,000 posts are the ones who know the answers. Thank goodness for those DIS addicts. :goodvibes

Also I have sent message to Capt. Marvin's website inquiring about how to link reservations, and how many usually go on a boat. I will let you know response.

Looks like I'm getting addicted again to this site. I was lost for a while, but I found my way home to the boards! Just call me Lassie. I would blame it on a tornado sweeping me away, but since Julie lives near me, she would know I was lieing.

Have a great night. We are headed to a friend's big birthday party. :cheer2: Deanna

Hello Everyone,
Took me 30 min to catch up with you all.......

We also have the late seating, don't want to be rushed back from all that fun.

David: BIG fan of margaritaville here    .....recently back from Vegas and that is one of our favorite spots....Best margarita's and Hot wings :cool1: :cool1: .Definately be making a stop in Key West, Havent' tried burger yet but they look awesome.......DD11 has already stated we "Must" go to the key lime pie shop. We are also booked on the Capt Marvins 10am "3 hour tour"........They said we had to be there at 9:15am......soo much for sleeping in that day :confused3 .

Glad for summer, but where's all my warm weather???? :cold: We're still in the 60's and raining :sad2: can't get my "no fry" pre tan here either.

Anyone else use Dreams to book??? Havent' heard from them to make my final payment.....never used before, don't know their procedure.......

see ya,
kim

Deanna- Good to see you become addicted again, I'm so proud! I read the thread about getting our dining linked. So, am I understanding correctly that we could all give our i.d. numbers to one person and that one person would call Disney and get us linked? From there, we may or may not need to provide more information. It seems like that person should also get in touch with Debbie Wargo, the dining coordinator. This makes sense to me! Thanks for posting this question - I never even thought to ask it! Hope you have a fun birthday party. By the way, how is the house selling going?

kcatoir- Sometimes I wish the highs here were only in the 60s. I feel like I'm my grandma saying this but, "it's not so much the heat, but the humidity that gets you".

Howdy on Saturday!

Julie- if you are already not happy with the humidity, I can't imagine what you are going to think during the cruise. I've heard it is very humid! You are going to have to pack one of those miniature fans that you wear around your neck. You will look so cute wearing that on the islands. :rotfl: That is how I will identify you at the sailaway party. :goodvibes

By the way, we are so undecided whether or not to sell the house, that for now we are just laying low. We've decided to stay here for now. I may change my mind tomorrow though.

Did everyone read the link about dining? Who would like to volunteer for that task? I think it sounds great. If no one else wants to organize it, I will work on it. No problem. That thread was very informative.

I still haven't heard a response from Capt. Marvin's yet. ::MickeyMo

Have a great humidity free kind of a day! :) Deanna

Deanna- For some reason, I am much more tolerant of humidity when I am on a Carribean Island on the beach than I am in my backyard trying to herd the kids around!! :sunny: No miniature fan for me!! :p

We had our house on the market 2 summers ago. We just wanted to move to a bigger house, but we decided to remodel this one instead. I could not stand the hassle of having to leave the house at a moment's notice and be gone for 2 hours at a time. I had a little baby and a 3 year old at the time. It wasn't worth it! We love our neighborhood and the schools and everything here so we are happy with what we decided. It's a tough decision.

I didn't see any new posts on the Dining thread. Everything sounds reasonable to me. Whoever wants to take it on is fine by me.

We are off the the pool!! :fish: BYE!!

Hi Guys!!! :wave2:

Here come multiple postings since I have been gone fishing  for three days and there is SOOOO much to catch up on ...

First ~ I think DIDI needs to bring Barney on the cruise. I understand that David (Uppity) has room in his luxurious cabin. :cool1: If not, he can drop him off with me & Chrystina  - I think we are down the hallway a few doors.

Okay - Let's get the important stuff first:

Being an Alaskan & all ...

One cannot going fishing and not give a Fishin Report ~ State Law. :teeth:

Absolutely awesome!!! Limited on Red Salmon on the Russian River with flies. Although it was a long hike in brutally hot weather (75!) {YES ~ HOT!!!} :rotfl: Limited out on Silver Salmon & Halibut on the ocean trip too!!! :Pinkbounc And had the wildlife sighting trip of a lifetime 8-9 Humpback whales (one within twenty yards of the boat) :Pinkbounc , 3 Orca, a dozen or so Dall Porpoise, Stellar Sea Lions, Harbor Seals, Sea Otters, Thousands of Puffins and the countless numbers of seabirds. Scenery that would make a Cruise Ship Captain cry and flat seas.
Truly hope this nephew understand the experience!!!

And that meets my statutory fishing report ... I DO like fishing!!!

Dennis

Congrats GilesFamily on the Wedding ~ So are you bringing the "newlyweds"? Or are they too "grown-up" for a Disney Cruise honeymoon? :rotfl:

Deanna ~ Been thinking about selling my Alaska Condo but I probably won't do it for two reasons - First - Don't want to give up my Alaska residency. Second - HATE the pack it up & move it routine, which I have done at least once every three years with either myself or Chrystina  for as long as I can remember!!! There is, of course, the hidden benefit of finding your "favorite spatula" that you packed in that box 15 years ago.... "What's in that box"? - Oh wow!!! It's the "victorian bathroom floor lamp your mother gave us" :rotfl: Isn't it time for a yard sale?

David - If you find out anymore about the Excaret Park, let me know. Have been thinking about that. Been to website & it looks interesting but there appears to be a paucity of information feedback about it on the boards.

Chrystina  and my excursion plan includes:

Key West Walk & Trolley - Been there before, so we are just going to take it slow & easy...

Cayman Isalnd Tour - Chrystina  wants to see the Turtle Farm AND as I have mentioned before... she plans to take me to HELL since I don't go there when she tells me to ... :rotfl: ... BAD Hubby!!!

Still trying to figure out the Cozumel Plan ... And finally, I am still wondering about taking some lightweight flyfishing gear to Castaway Cay. Probably won't do it (Saltwater will do BAD things to my gear). SO we are thinking about parasailing ... One of those "got to do it once" things ...

Giles - Could you teach Chrystina  how to be a "here, hold my stuff" delegate? After 20+ years, she still hasn't figured that out yet!!! :rotfl:

 Dennis

Okay ~ Late Seating Dining....

Looks to me like the APL Rotation is the way to go ... :cool1: To get the mostest & bestest of the "dining festivities". Here is the "Latelies" seating as I see it now - (Julie - Want to double check this?)

Kb1esx Crew - Full Table at unkown rotation ...
ErinC & SouthernMouse - Full Table at APL rotation

Stragglers

Dennis & Chrystina - 2
bpicard - 4
Smilingmouse - 1
GilesFamily - 3
B&J Mom - 4
Tx Dis Fan - 4

Which, if my numbers & math is correct is 16 or TWO large tables...
So, if that's right and folks want to PM the following information to me:

Last Name - Rsv# - Cabin# - # of Seats (Confirm Above)

I will try and make contact with DCL Monday Morning and make the arrangements for the tables and an APL rotation. Let me know....

Dennis

Dennis..nah, the newlyweds definitely do not want to come on the cruise with their parents. I don't know why??? :rotfl2: Due to their work schedule, they have to postpone their honeymoon until November anyways. And then they are going to some non-Disney resort. Those silly people.

Dennis..I just sent you our info. If there is anything missing, let me know.

Last night, I spent about 5 hours with my soon-to-be-wed daughter doing wedding invitations. Thank goodness for self-adhesive postage stamps!

Well, off to take the other youngun to Madagascar. (the movie..not the country)

Dennis- Glad you had such an awesome fishing experience! :3dglasses I hope your nephew appreciated all of that amazing trip. You are lucky to be among so much wildlife. When we go outside here all we see is the occasional squirrel -and they aren't even the gray ones! My parents still live in the house I was born in in Missouri. It's in the country - they have a lake in their backyard, which is 1/2 a mile from the creek...I miss that! My dad used to take me trapping, hunting, fishing - oh well, enough about that.

I agree - Barney definitely needs to be on this cruise. It would not be the same without him. I am willing to babysit him, but in my lowly cat.11 cabin there may not be room for that big kitty!

Also, Deanna got some additional information on dining. There is a lady you can call who is the dining coordinator. I don't know if you call her before or after you link reservations, but she is good at getting tables close together and helping with the getting the dining rotation you want. She might be someone to get ahold of as well.

Your dining numbers look right to me so far. Are David and DiDi's table going to be in our section as well? I can't remember what they wanted for sure.

GilesFamily - Have fun at the movies! I took my kids a couple of weeks ago and they both loved it. It was Jack's first movie and I was so proud of him! So well behaved!! So, are you planning a big wedding for your daughter? Details, please!! :goodvibes
