I did ask them why they were not taking any more reservations on this cruise, and he told me he did not know why. The Magic is in dry dock the following two weeks, so that is not the case.
All he stated was that they were taking wait list reservations. When I first called to add my daughters to our reservations, they added them with no problem because I had the rooms booked already. I did notice that they did not take deposit against my card yet for the 3 girls though.
I can change my vacation dates pretty easily, so I am up for the challenge, but I do feel for the people who can not and are sitting on pins and needles waiting to see what happens. They should tell us now......I am off to call Disney again to see if anything new has developed. :earboy2: princess: princess: princess: princess:

Hope you get some scoop! We're flexible as well. Kids are still young enough that they can miss school without too much trouble. It would just be nice to work around an in-service day so they only miss 3 or 4 days instead of 5 but not necessary. I'm wondering if cruise ships are required to do anything when they "bump" you like airlines are. Or, is just whatever they choose to do?

Ok straight from DCL. They have stopped selling the date and are no longer wait listing.
A final decision has not been set in stone, so they may just open the date again. However, once the decision is made, they will contact us immediately. Lots of run around, but it sounds like they are waiting for final comfirmation on the charter reservation. If it is a go I think we are gone :guilty:

I'm going to call after I get my kindergartener off this afternoon and I'll post DLC's "REPLY DU JOUR"

Are we going? Are we or aren't we? The suspense is killing me. I know plans like this take time, but Disney should let us know they suspect this is happening and then we can go on our merry way replanning. My little one is already bumming, as I think this will happen and we will be left with a few dates in the fall to book because the Magic is "doing the California Thang."

I wish they would let me know already, I have mucho Christmas things to do and I keep waiting for the phone to ring :charac2:

Let's hope they come through with something soon

Hey Fellow Nail Bitters!!!
I saw a few of you asked Camcolt on the other thread how their case was handled when this happen to them. Can someone please inform me of what happened???? Since 2 people already asked I didn't want to PM again.
Thanks soo much

Has anyother info become available??
I haven't gotten any emails from D/U.
I have to laugh about the post that DCL is denying anything is going on!!!
Obviously something is up.......just fess up......

Kim

As most of you know Ive been calling and calling no one would say. I ask to speak to a supervisor and she said somthing was up but did not know all the details, I explained that our vacations where we work must be put down in DEC and JAN what should I do? She said (unofficially) she would transfer the res same week for a combo 4day 3 day and I could keep my dicounts I recieved booking on board in June 200$ onboard credit ETC so I took it. She gave me the impression I did the right thing, still never came out and said so.

barron,
You changed your 7day to a 4day??? Is that correct??? Why not to another 7day??
We definately want the 7day western.
I hope they fess up soon.
Did they offer any other consessions?? I guess they wouldn't until its official they are bumbing people.

Kim

KCATOIR ,
I Changed it to a 4 day and 3 day combo same week, its a cool way to do this
I found out I get 2 trips to Castaway Cay , we get to keep the same room and our on board credit and if the charter does not happen I can switch back.It covers me both ways. :cool1:

Very Good Barron,
I would miss the Western Itinerary though. We REALLY want to go to Cozumel and Grand Camin (s.p.).
That great you can switch back.
Still Hoping for the best and a quick answer from DCL!!!!!!!!!!
kim

Just to say we can switch back as long as its before July 17 and theres still avalibilty. :cool1:

Hey Barron,
Did they tell you you could switch back at the same rate you paid or the going rate at the time? I have found these cruises to change price rather quicky. I still am in awe that they have not at least confirmed that there is something in the works. I have no idea why the company that would be chartering has not finalized yet. That type of trip is a huge undertaking and I would think they would want their plans firmed up. Oh well, I guess I'll just hang in there until they tell me they can't accomodate me, then I hope they will try and make things right.

To answer your question, yes. I was told sence I booked while on the cruise this summer, she noted the discount and my concern about the charter,(that they still don't know about) I was told there was no charter, but who knows, although I think I am going to stay with the 4 day 3 day cruise for my 7 day cruise, I like the two CASTAWAY KEY days and I've never done that before. But I'm like you when are they going to make the announcement?

Any news yet? We're booked on this cruise. We're cruising on the 1/6 Wonder next week, and I'm hoping we'll be able to apply the 10% and $200 onboard credit to this 9/24 cruise that we've already booked. I'm not sure we can do it if they're not accepting new reservations for this cruise.

I called DCL today regarding something else and asked about this as well. The "current story" is that they changed dry-dock plans for the Magic after they were already taking reservations during the dry-dock period that follows this cruise. So I was told the ship is simply already full because many who were booked during the dry-dock period elected to move their reservations back to this date.

So they pushed the dry dock out a week?? So that would be 2 weeks after our cruise??
I wonder how reliable that version of the story is???
Still hoping no news is good news.......
