smiling mouse- I didn't realize that we were on the same cruise in January! That's funny! Did you have fun? That may be a dumb question...we had a great time, I think this one will be more relaxing. Last time I thought I had to try to squeeze everything into the 4 days.
:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Yes, we had an AMAZING time...I spent most of my time at the Quiet Cove poor reading books and enjoying the water.....SOOOOOO relaxing!

I can't wait to do it again :)

4foxes: Just curious. How far in advance did you book to be able to get early seating? I would like to know in case of future cruising for me.

We booked our cruise last October...just a couple of weeks after our Hurricane Jeanne version.

Well Shipmates, I am about to disconnect my computer and pack it in for a week. Place is getting painted and carpeted while I'm wandering around in waist deep ice water chasing steelhead in the Alaska bush during the spring awakening of the grizzlies. Just TOO much fun ... Rain & snow forecast too. :cold: BUT no matter how cold & wet we get ... SAME time next year!!!

Of course, I just spent last night planning a trip to Belize in December and I haven't told Chrystina about the fishing there yet. She thinks we are going to look at Mayan ruins. :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

SmilingMouse & KCatoir - You guys need to find Suzanne74 while I'm gone. Otherwise, we are probably going to have to depend on the Kansas landlubber crews to take over the "lifeboat drill instructions" and they be landlubbers!!! :rotfl2:

B&J and Cujo --- Best be on the lookout for the Governor of Kansas. He may not let you back in the state. Hmmm - that could be a good thing? :cool1:

FourFoxes - Since you appear to be the "mother of the thread", having posted the first post, you will have to be in charge of ensuring the Bon Voyage baton is passed along properly. I think bpicard9 has it now.

Okay ... enough of my nonsense ... Fish ON!!!

And just for you Becky ...

Dennis~

Have a great trip! I don't think we will have any luck with Suzanne (maybe she's taking a nap ;) ) I'm afraid she's done posting after the reaction to the last thread...

Thanks for the daily countdown....I'm really going to miss them (ahhh, the joys of OCD and being an over-planner)

See you next week

Hello all,
Thaks for the info four foxes. Still indecided.

Suzanne74 if your lurking......COME BACK!! :wave2: We miss you!!

Watched the DCL on Travel channel today for the Upteenth time :goodvibes . Dh said to stop torturing him :teeth: . DD's always love to watch and ask....."are we going there????.......are we going there???........" :rotfl:

Glad to see more lurkers are comeing forward.

In order to plan a Bonvoyage party it seems imparative to know what everyone plans on doing once they have boarded:
We usually arrive early at the terminal and board as soo as they will possibly let us :cool1: .
Lunch at Topsiders so DD's can swim a bit before the pools get crowded. This time though we will be scheduling Spa and Palo reservations so haven't worked out how to do that  .

Well I'm off, been under the weather last few days, so I'm off to rest again :umbrella:

Kim

Hello all!!

Dennis-Hope you have a great trip wading in the icy cold water - catch lots of steelhead! I don't think I have ever said that to anyone before.

smilingmouse- I never even made it over to ANY "adult" areas on the ship or on castaway cay! I will make it a priority this time!

kcatoir- Hope you are feeling better. :goodvibes Once we board the boat, we will get lunch and then try to let the kids get some time in the pool before everyone else gets in there. We won't need spa or Palo reservations so we should be good to go...just enjoying our first day!!

fourfoxes- Thanks for the glass bottom boat info!

:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

I really like the adult pool because it is much less crowded compared to the others...My goals for the next cruise are to visit Quiet Cove Cafe and try ther Rainforest Room....

:scared1:

Wait, I thought the baton had already passed from me. This may send me back to my lurking cave ;)

Dennis - Hope the fishing's great. My husband and I have been wanting to go, and it had been one of my dad's dreams to fish up there.

kccaitor - hope you're feeling better.

b&j's_mom - I'll be truly St. Louis and ask your husband "what high school did you go to?"

happy week all

Oh my gosh, that is SO funny!!! Every time we meet someone from St. Louis, that is the first thing my husband asks them, and vice versa! I have never seen anything like it! Anyway, to answer your question, he went to Fox. Where did you go?

Take care!

:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

bpicard9: I saw your post today about the Chanakaab National Park. We are having trouble deciding that day too. We are traveling with two families. My family wants to swim with the dolphins. Not just pet them. So we are booked separately from the other family. We booked our excursion through the park, not disney. The other family can't do dolphin swim because of a 4 year old being too young. So they are going to do the excursion through disney to pet the dolphins.
The other family consists of a lady who doesn't like to travel in foreign places by herself. Her husband died last year of cancer so she will be the only adult. So she will be going through the disney taxi system to get to the park. She wants us to be with her. That just doesn't appear to be possible. :earboy2:
We can't go through the Disney taxi system because we booked on our own. We are hoping to all stay together and meet up at the park. But it will be harder to do than what it seems.
I didn't like the answer that one person told you.......the one about the taxis not having seat belts. YIKES!

Hi all :)

we're near the bottom of pg1, so I'm bumping us up :)

cujobugs:
my husband and I have talked it over, and since we can't be assured that they're seat belts, we're not going to book an excursion on Cozumel.

We're going to be San Diego in July, so I'm going to try and do the Rocky Point Dolphin Encounter there. It won't be the same as Chanakaab, but they'll get to pet a dolphin.

I sympathize with your taxi/transportation situation. Hope things work out for all of you.

BTW. Baton should definitely have passed me by :cool1:

Maybe I'm not following this thread but is there a question of whether "Disney" taxis have seatbelts? When we were in Cozumel, we booked a Disney excursion that included a taxi ride to the boat excursion. We walked to the taxi stand at the end of the cruise dock and a group coordinator put us, group by group, in regular old taxis and directed the cabs take us to the boat dock. The coordinator then met up with the entire group at the excursion dock. I can't remember if they had seatbelts but they certainly weren't air conditioned and were in older condition. But, it was only a 5-10 minute drive.

fourfoxesinpa: I'm just interested in any taxi, ones Disney uses or ones we'd get on our own. As I understand, most taxis in Cozumel don't have seatbelts. Even though DolphinDiscovery says that

From the cruise ship dock area, take a taxi to Chankanaab Park. It should take no more than 15 minutes. A taxi will cost about US$10.00 each way, for up to four people.

I'm not comfortable with the 15 mo not in a carseat or without seatbelts.

just me, though.

hope everyone's having a good day :)

Hi, just checking in. Has anyone taken the baton from me yet? :) (Even though I refused to take it! :rotfl: )

bpicard, did you ask on the cruise boards about taxi's and seatbelts, because I wondered the same thing. I know the taxi we had in Nassau had no seatbelts, and the whole ride was a little scary! I have thought about renting a car to get around. Do you think the rental cars would have seat belts? Surely they would. That might be an option for you to look into.

Hope power alaska is catching some big fish and having a great week!

When we get on the ship, which I hope will be as soon as they start boarding, I want to attempt to change to early dining and get Palo reservations, then we are pretty much free. Oh and eat lunch of course. I might pack the kids swimsuits in my carry on so that they can get some swimming time, and mickey slide time in before the ship gets too crowded. I'm not sure how well DD2 is going to handle the whole not being able to go in the pool thing. I hope that maybe she'll be potty trained by the time we go, but I really am not counting on it.

Hello Everyone, :wave2:
Checking back in, Thanks for the Well wishes, I am feeling much better :goodvibes .

Hope Power Alaska catches himself a GIANT steelhead :cool1: , Boards just haven't been the same with his humor abscent.
I think we have been keeping it going strong in his abscence :hyper2: .

Has anyone else notes the very........Opinionated would be safe to say.....thread on "the new dress code"?????
WOW talk about flames... :rotfl: Staying far away from that one.
Don't think new code will change our dress for dinner, DD's are soo looking forward to getting dressed up, me too, also doesn't apply to Formal nights (looking forward to one good family picture this time :teeth: ). I can't believe some people actually stopped cruising DCL or Boycotted the resturantes that evening because of the Formal dress :confused3 . Oh well to each his own.

Who does have the Baton??? Uh Oh have we not been vigilant on assigning it??? See what happens when you leave us to our own devices??? PARTY TIME!!!!

:hourglass Come back Dennis, we haven't had our countdown fix.......

Kim

Kcatoir,

I agree re: the dress code thread...I read a bit but (wisely) refrained from posting.

I don't know where the bator is at the moment, I'm just happy NOT to have it :)
