I haven't been able to find our previous thread since the board's been updated so I thought I'd start a new one. (really I just wanted to post something so I could see how many days we have left!)

Jamie

Hi Jamie,
Wow I haven't been to the boards since they changed. Guess our original post is gone.

We can't wait!!!!!! :cool1:
It's great to be under the 365day mark.......

Kim

Hubby and I are booked for this cruise. We got a call from our TA yesterday saying not to make any flight plans yet, because an organization was trying to charter the whole boat. Have you guys heard anything about that? Our agent said we would be able to rebook for anytime except holidays and still get the same rate we had for this cruise.

Denise

Thanks for posting this. I guess I'll wait to get our flights as well. My TA just called DCL on Tuesday or Wednesday to have our $50 Disney Visa onboard credit applied and they didn't mention anything to her. But, that doesn't mean it's not a possibility.

I guess we'll just have to hold tight and see what's going on.

We got the same phone call from our agent at allseas. DH pulled up the DCL web site and this cruise has disappeared from the listings. It looks like this is a done deal. Just waiting to see what DCL's next move will be.???

We just booked our flight yesterday, since we use Frequent flyer miles we have to book early.......aaarrrrgggghhhhhh. Dcl needs to pay our fee for changing flights, I think.
I am going to email Dreams unlimited RIGHT NOW. I have heard nothing.

Kim

Let's all keep each other posted when and if we hear anything!

Kim-- I'm sorry about your flight situation. Maybe it will all work out!

Everyone,
I recieved an email from Penny at D/U today, (they hold our reservation)
She contacted DCL today. DCL can not confirm or deny a charter but the CM stated they have stopped taking reservations for that cruise.
As soon as an official anouncement is made by DCL I will recieve notification thru D/U regarding our options. DCL did make a note of my request regarding the airline fee's.
This really stinks!!!!!! I plan ahead for a reason, its rude they would bump us paying customers off!!!!

I hope we find out soon.
Kim

I just hope DCL doesn't drag their feet on letting us know something. We all have plans and arrangements to make to prepare for a week away from the real world. Hopefully this will all work out to everyone's satisfaction.

I realize my worry is premature but, with the Magic being out west for the entire summer of 2005, when would they get us on the boat? Would we get the category that we reserved or do you think they'd just "get us on" at our category or better. My major concern is that since I booked our trip with the 40% Hurricane Jeanne discount, we must start sailing by 10/1/05 or the discount expires. We also paid $142 for travel insurance and I think it doubtful that the policy would transfer to another date. We'd probably be out that money and have to repurchase a policy for a different sail date. I realize that I shouldn't worry until we know if this is really what's going to happen but after my experience with Hurricane Jeanne, I'm "gunshy."

Hi to all that are [currently] booked for the 09/24/2005 7-day Western.

Just read about the possibility that we'll be bumped.

Now I'm probably going to regreat saying this later, but I for one hope we do get bumped as it seems that it can only be a plus for us (yes I'm being selfish for saying so). We are not tied to this date as we drive (no flight change issues) and I don't have to schedule vacation a year in advance.

We only picked this date because at the time of our booking, it was the latest date of the season with the cheapest fare. I'm curious to see what type of accomidations DCL will make for us.

Of course I was saying the same thing when we were waiting to see if we would be effected by the hurricanes. We were scheduled for the 09/25/2004 sailing and when I heard about the discounts being offered to those affected by the first hurrican in early Sept, I had hoped the same thing would happen to us so we could get all those discounts. Unfortunately the timing of the weather and the changing of ports of departure required us to cancel with a full refund rather than picking the option of doing a 5-day with discounts.

Of course if we do get bumped, that means that's two cruises in a row that we've been bumped from (first the hurricans, then DCL).

LoL Hookoodooku.........Thats a great philophophy.

I'm sure it will all work out....but frustrating in the mean time.
I just want to know asap either way. Hope they don't keep us hanging for months. DH is hoping for an upgrade to balcony if they do bump us. I hope they do offer us decent compensation for being bumped......i.e. cover airline fees.......onboard credits.......free room upgrades........discounts.........acceptable alternative dates etc.........
If DCL is listening all of these would bee GREAT. :cool1: :cool1:

Here's hoping for the best, :wizard: :wizard:

Short of bumping us to a Cat 3 (yea right), I'm not sure what DCL could do to compensate us...

As I already stated, we drive so there isn't any flight issues.

We are already in a Cat 6, and Cat 5 isn't any different (just a change in Deck) and Cat 4 is only a small upgrade (only thing we gain is a touch more floor space because of the murphy bed).

We already have $200 credit because it booking originated from a rebooking while on board (when we had to cancel because of the hurricane, they transfered the credit to this cruise) and we're building up credit by using the Disney Visa.

...and with my luck, DW will get pregnant and we'll have to cancel.

I just got this reply from my Travel Agent...

Hey Jamie –

Well, I hope this is good news – but I did speak with DCL today and they advised me that the information you have is just a rumor. The reservation agent checked this with their supervisor to make certain and the supervisor confirmed the same. As of today, they are not giving me any details on a charter OR that they will be asking you to change your vacation dates. They flat out said that it is just a rumor. I hope that’s the truth! Let me know if you hear any more information and I can keep checking back with them.

So if it's just a rumor, then why are they not taking any more reservations???

It's not because the general public managed to already book the entire ship for that date.

okay here we are but we may not be for long!!! I can not believe this, we struggled with a date while on board so we could get the discount and room credits, after much ado we settle on a September cruise or my daughter's birthday and now we may have to go another time. UGH she will be disappointed. I hope they let us know soon. pirate: princess: princess: princess: princess:

Has anyone asked Disney straight up "why is 9/24 sailing removed from your website" and/or "why are you no longer taking reservations for that sailing" and/or "is the boat scheduled for dry dock that week?" Since they're denying the charter "rumor," maybe it's something else? Instead of yes/no questions, maybe they should be asked in a way that they can't weasel out of it.
