Sept. 23, 2012 Pacific Coast - Wonder Cruise

We would love to do the cabin crawl as well. We have an inside GTY, so I have no idea where we'll end up. I just started a business this year, so we won't be paying for an upgrade ... and I suspect we'll remain in an inside cabin!

My mother and sister have a navigator's verandah and our friends have a one bedroom suite.

Laura and I will try to put together a cabin crawl for the first at sea day tentative time right after lunch.

PM me if you are willing to show your room. Tell me name, room number, type of room and if there is something different or peculiar about your room, eg. sideways, secrete porthole room, partially obstructed verandah (we have one of these), suites, etc.

I will try to put together a tour with one of each, or a varied selection.

Let me know.

Bill & Laura

If so, let me know. I can put a list together, since the first FE is now full & closed. I also have feeling there will be some newcomers, now that the guarantee cabins have been opened up. Yay!

I meant to add this in my post above, but forgot. I live in Southern CA, so if there are any folks out there from out of state (or out of the country) and you have any questions regarding the local theme parks, things to do, traffic, etc., just let me know. I'd be happy to help if I can.

Julie,

Please put Laura and Bill Boon on the second FE list. We are also on the first list. Our stateroom is 6134.

While some of the FEs we have received in the past obviously took many hours to make each individual gift, we can expand our volume more easily than some others can.

Good idea! Since we just booked I haven't even started FE gifts yet, so adding more is easy. Include us in your list too Julie.

BTW, you have my stateroom Bill, well kind of. One of the hardest things for me when we had to change sail dates was giving up 6634 and going with GTY. I love the obstructed verandah Cat 7's!

I'm a newcomer - just booked on the weekend with the Canadian discount - looking forward to it! It's our first Disney Cruise, although not our first time to California. :)

I have so many questions - I'm just totally lost! Is there a way to find out what special guests might be on board (ie shake it up cast), or what movies might be playing?

JSG - Have I told you what happened when we went to the Gold Coast in Aussie? DH printed Google maps out to navigate down to Broadbeach. Total trip time should have been an hour. Due to Google not printing exit numbers on the exits and DH getting completely lost the trip time was FIVE hours. There were mutliple stops for directions and I was hissing at the end of it (kids were 2.5 and asleep in carseats). Next morning he comes in with his work cellphone and says 'you know, I have GPS on this - I should have used it'. Now he won't leave home without the GPS and is muttering about downloading SoCal maps this weekend.

Score on the Disney Store thanks to JSG. Kids will have some Disney stuff waiting for them on arrival and I've bought a DCL watch given I'm not confident about sizing without trying stuff on. :cool1::cool1:

I'm glad that you found stuff that you like :) LOL - too funny about the GPS. I have a portable GPS but I find that I use my phone more than anything too :thumbsup2

Hello all! We booked this cruise a couple of weeks ago. It will be me, DH and DD who will have just turned 3. So excited to see a little group of 3 yro's already. YAY! We are new to DCL so I can't wait!! :yay:

W

Welcome to the group and DCL. One word of warning....it is addicting. We did our first DCL cruise in January of 2011 and now this cruise coming up will be my 5th. I got bit by the cruising bug....big time :rotfl2:

I know we're jumping in late, but I'm soo excited to be joining you all on this cruise!

We've been holding an onboard booking on the Oct Pacific Coast cruise for ages, but recently found out it will be impossible for DH to take time off work then. It killed me to cancel that cruise and lose all our booking benefits, but the GT rates on this cruise made it a bit easier!

If we're not too late we'd love to join in on the FE exchange. We were on the first ever Dis Boards FE cruise, I can't imagine cruising DCL without participating.

Welcome to you too!!! Yea.....lots of new people. I can't wait for our meet on board the ship to put faces to all the names!!!

I literally just got off the phone with DCL and booked for this cruise. Can we squeak under the wire and join the FE list? Please! Actually, I know it's a lot of work and hassle to revise the list and send it back out, so I totally understand if it's too late. Just let me know or PM me. If it's too late, I'll see about starting a new group. Thanks and we're happy to be on this cruise! There will be me, DH, DD (13) and DS (9). This will be our third Disney cruise - the other two were in Europe.

Welcome to the group!!! Ohhhh, all this talk about kids is making me sad that I won't have mine with me. My DS is 9 too.... But, darn school gets in the way.

Oh, I would love to see a one bedroom suite. And for that matter, the navigator's verandah too (if we don't end up with one ourselves).

:wave2: Hi neighbor. I'm So. Cal too. We are about 15/20 minutes from the port of LA and 30 minutes from DLR (driveway to parking garage, LOL).

I'm a newcomer - just booked on the weekend with the Canadian discount - looking forward to it! It's our first Disney Cruise, although not our first time to California. :)

Another newcomer....welcome to the group!!! Same words of warning about DCL...it is addicting :rotfl2:

WOW, I don't check in over the weekend and we have 4 new groups to add. Awesome!!!! It looks like all the new offers are helping DCL fill up the ship :)
Nothing new to report around here. This past weekend was my first one without things to do (other than housework, LOL) so it was nice to have a little down time.

Thanks Gail for the updated FE list!!! I think I have the adults finished and now have to figure out the FE's for the kids.

WOO HOO - only 2 month (date wise) until we leave!!!!!

Your in the right place. Ask away with questions, there is usually someone with the answer. You can also search all these forums. My last cruise, which was my first I felt the same way. I google searched "disney cruise tips and tricks" and found a lot of good information. Welcome!

Wow, lots of new folks! Welcome everyone!

queentasha, I think because of the Pixar themeing there won't be other special guests but I guess anything is possible. There are going to be some Pixar folks on board to hold talks on making the films and characters that are not normally on board.
I'm not sure how people get the lists of the movies playing but when I booked I was told that all the Pixar movies and shorts would be playing, including the 3D release of Finding Nemo and a peak at Monsters University.

Thats right! I better start packing. :drive:

Welcome to all the new cruisers, and a hello to everyone else.

Bill

Two months seems like an eternity, last time we booked three weeks before the cruise and spent just about everyday doing something to prepare...

Since this will be just the second California Cruise the itinerary will be up in the air. Hopefully someone from the first cruise the week before will post their daily navigator:confused3

Maybe someone can help me out here.... My DD will be 3 on the cruise and is potty trained. She does still need help pulling up her pants though. I read on another board that DCL is very strict about not assisting the little ones when they go potty. How true is this? And what if my DD does need help...will they call me?? I'd just be devastated if they just left her there waiting for me. We have really been practicing the whole wiping herself and pulling up her pants. But sometimes her pants get twisted. She has been using the potty since she was 25 months old so very, very few accidents.

Ok...thanks ahead of time. I'm sure some others on here may have similar concerns being that they have 3 year olds.

Thanks!!

W

W,
Our daughter was in the same situation last time. She was 90% PT and it was not a problem. If you DD needs help or missed mom and dad, they will call or text you on your wave phone and you can come right down.

Hi All - Here is the start of FE List #2. So far I have:

MadHatterMom2 - me (Julie!), DH James, DD Anneliese (13), DS Alex (9) - Room 5520
4boons - Laura & Bill - Room 6134
AZ Pirates - not sure about the family members since I don't have the first list, so let me know your details - Room GTY/TBD

Queentasha - Let me know if you'd like to join the FE gift exchange. Also, everyone is happy to help with your questions. It looks like most of us have sailed with DCL before.

Two months from today! It'll go by fast . . .

I'm not sure how they would handle it, as my kids were never at that stage while we were on a cruise. I would suggest putting her in clothes that are very easy for her to handle herself while she's in the clubs. Will she wear dresses or skirts? If so, they might be the best option, since she'll only have to worry about her underwear.

You can call 888-325-2500, choose the reservations option, then ask what movies will be showing the week you sail.
I copied that from the FAQ list on the main board.

:welcome: to anyone that I may have missed. We have fellow cruises that live in the areas we are traveling to (well, except Ensenada) and lots that have cruised DCL before (this is our 14th). I have never traveled with little ones, I think that our youngest that is now getting ready to be married next month was in Jr. High but there are others that have.

OK, hot here (actually maybe hotter than hot) and I am so over it. Take care, have an awesome evening and remember - two months from today you will be on the Wonder!
